There are over hundreds of amazing waterfalls across India. Karnataka’s Kunchikal falls is the highest waterfalls in India and second highest in Asia. The water of Dudhsagar falls located between Karnataka and Goa looks just like milk therefore it is called ‘Sea of Milk’ or Dudhsagar. Waterfalls are one of the most beautiful natural sights that one can see. Though there aren’t many waterfalls in India like other countries, the few waterfalls that exist are truly worth a visit. Jog falls in Shimoga (Karnataka), Dudhsagar Falls in Goa,

You can’t go there . The govt has blocked the entrance to the falls due to some reason . We travelled 2 hours to get to the road that leads to it and got turned away

Kunchikal falls, the 2nd highest tiered waterfall in India, and the highest in Karnataka. The flow to the falls is greatly reduced because of the Mani dam built accross the Varahi river that forms the falls. Unfortunately due to the hydroelectric power plant, the entire area is cordoned off and one requires special permission to visit the falls. Since the pandemic began, the passes (which can be obtained from Hosangadi village, 15 km away) have not been issued. The locals also confirmed that people get covered neck deep in insects, some of them dangerous, during monsoons, which is the ideal time to see the falls, but it is especially dangerous, and often passes aren't issued. Also most of the photos under Kunchikal falls are either of Jog falls or some other falls. The dam area has photography and videography prohibited, even with passes.

It’s not permitted to public. It’s in dense forest and away from human access. Forest People will not allow you to go there.

Kunchikal Falls is formed by Varahi river in Shimoga district of Karnataka and currently listed as highest waterfalls in India by height in wikipedia. The cascade type waterfall is located deep in Nidagodu village in the state of Karnataka.

The experience at Kunchikal fall was very exciting as well as terrifying. I enjoyed a lot there and it was adventurous to climb the mountain up to see the fall. The fall look fabulous for far. You should visit it once.

India's highest falls. Many of us don't know it. It's an cascading falls runs through western ghats... It's an restricted area where you will not be allowed to trek or visit. It's an untamed beauty of nature.

Google map misleading. Could not visit the falls. At one point was told that special permission is needed. But according to localites it's unaccessible and most know nothing about the falls. Really surprised to find many articles on it even of the routes and buses that can take us to the falls. As all that glitters is not gold, all that's written is also not true
