600 INR per head and experience as this is really dumb. Very disappointed. Yes I know it’s luck to see a tiger but then when you could only see few peacocks, deer and monkeys. Well I could see more than this at 5AM when the forest border opens. And look at the bus it clearly says there is very limited safety in it or is it that they’re very well sure there won’t be tiger on the route. So disappointed anyway with Indian tourism.

I have mixed reaction for the safari. The time of safari for bus is 1.5 hrs and they will cover only 45 min inside the forest and rest of the time will go off by traveling through main road itself. One naturalist will be provided to guide about animals and habitat per bus or vehicle. The fee is expensive for the travel it will be 610 per person for the bus. Tge safari point is good with large seating area, restrooms and food and souvenir outlets. Sighting of the animals are based on luck and not frequent

For tickets( need to buy at “Bandipur safari point”- location in google maps you can find)- anything other than bus need to be booked online. For direct visit without Resrvation, only buses are allowed. Bus Pickup for Morning safari need to visit from 6-7:30 and afternoon from 2-4pm. Gypsy and other vehicles can’t be availed without Resrvation. Animals spotted- very limited animals- deers raindeers elephant away from forest. Bus charges- 650per person including safari entry charges. Below 7years free. Eateries/ soveneirs- there is a tea stall, one soveneir shop and art shop located here for shopping. T-shirts we’re about 600 but head caps which co at about 350 were worth the money. Didn’t find worth. But loved the greenery and nature visits. Please Click ‘helpful’ if you found this info really helpful.

It was an enjoyable experience. We got to see a lot of animals. But we didn't get to see a tiger. The best times to visit are in the morning. Also, I would recommend pre-purchasing the tickets online to avoid standing in queue for 40-50 minutes. Each ticket costs ₹600. And the safari would be in a 16-seater bus with a guide.

If you going with watching a tiger and leopard in mind you will be disheartened as its very rare sightings if you are lucky because you are not allowed in core areas. After 3days of Our visit we saw on news that there was Tiger attack. Clicking pictures are also difficult. We enjoyed the early morning chilly ride in gypsy which we booked online around 3weeks ago.We had a guide n driver, but you can book from the counter also in morning. Morning Safaris has more chances of sighting animals. We saw Crested Hawk,Gaur,Deers,Peacocks n Peahens,Wild Hens,Elephant,Kingfisher,Cormorants,Termite Hills,Giant Spider. While returning from safari we saw more elephants, wild boar crossing the road.

Must visit place for Nature lovers and those who love to see wildlife animals 😀❤️ Well maintained rooms and good service Good tasty food Many deers , monkeys and wild boars can be seen very often inside the campus. Safari was also good but seeing animals during Safari is would be based on your luck. Luckily we could see some animals.

We visited Bandipura Tiger Safari on a Monday morning at 6:30am and drizzling made it an adventurous safari. Timings - Morning 6:30am to s:30am would be the right timing for the safari and I have added the Pricing sheet to the images. Safari Vehicle Type - You can either take a Jeep ride or a bus. Jeep will cost you around Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1400 /head and you need atleast 5 people for the Jeep ride (we shared the ride with a couple). Bus ride will cost you Rs. 400/head (on an average) and they will make you wait until there are 20 to 25 people. I would recommend taking a Jeep ride, if you wish to look at the forest more closer and clearer. Sighting - There is a board in next to the counter that says "Sighting Wild Animals totally depends on LUCK". So, yes, you can see a few elephants, a few or a lot of spotted dears, even a few wild dogs, BUT a Tiger or a Leopard?? NO. BETTER TIMING TO VISIT BANDIPURA TIGER PARK FOR SIGHTING A TIGER OR A LEOPARD IS DURING SUMMER (March to June) If you are there during the rest of the year, just drive through Bandipur Tiger Reserve (inside the Entrance Gate) and will definitely see a few elephants and a lot of spotter dears and you can save a lot of Money and TIME (from the SAFARI)

Excellent place to visit. You are definitely poised for treasure for your eyes with animals in their natural habitat. You will get to see lots of beautiful birds for sure. Elephant herds. You will be lucky to have a sighting of tiger. We visited around 5 PM and it was cloudy and didn’t have a chance or luck for signs of tiger. Highly recommend carrying a camera for treasurers later.

The best ever long drive one can enjoy through the bandipur jungle road. To reach ooty from Mysore you need to cross this area which is ultimate scenic and peaceful. You’ll be seeing all the wild animals in the both sides of the road minding their own business peacefully. You’re not allowed to stop or com down from the car. Sighting of Tiger in the road is very very rare. For that you can opt for safari arranged by forest department. Please don’t feed animals on your way through the jungle. Drive safely as you might see peacock and moneys mainly standing in middle or very side of the road. Sighting of flocks of deer, elephant, peacock , bison , gaur, monkeys are very common and frequent. Please be mindful and responsible. You will love the place

Huge forest area to explore. Houses around 200 tigers and another set of numbers for leopards/ sloth bears. Safari is worth it. The terrain has trees which aren’t very tall and mostly dry as we visited in March. Keep your eyes open to spot from tiny little bits to huge big beauties. Safari can be booked on spot as well. We were lucky to have another couple looking for a open gypsy ride and five of us could make for an afternoon safari. While booking online, do mention the number of people on board to avoid paying for all the seats in a gypsy.

If you are coming to see the Tiger or cheetah in the Tiger reserve, you will be fooled without seeing a single wild animal and waste of around 1000 rupees for each person. Even the buses who carry people are doing time to pass 90 mins in carrying passengers in a single trip. Totally a waste of money in each and every step in the Tiger reserve safari, even for car parking also they charge around 60. By looking at the cutoff money share in notice board for each person its looks very funny. A guide will be available to explain what monkeys, deer, elephants and peacocks do and we contribute around 50 rupees in each ticket.

The Bandipur and Mudumalai Reserved Forests, which are located in southern India and are known for their diverse wildlife. The best time to visit these forests is from the end of the monsoon season to winter, which is typically between September and January. Visitors to these forests can expect to see a variety of wild animals, including elephants, deer, bison, and other wildlife. While tigers and leopards are also present in the area, sightings of these big cats are not guaranteed and depend on luck and other factors. It's important to note that these are protected wildlife areas, and visitors should follow all rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the animals and the preservation of the natural habitat.

Very good Safari experience. We didn't see tigers in our two trips here, but the forests are beautiful and we saw lots of other animals - elephants, bison, black bear, peacocks, langur, and even a pack of wild dogs killing and eating a deer right in front of us! I've seen negative reviews saying they didn't see tigers - like most places, this is a matter of luck, and unlike the African savannah, Indian forests are unfortunately not teeming with large wildlife. Ms. Nayana was a wonderful and friendly guide, full of knowledge about the animals and also about trees and other flora. Our driver (whose name I unfortunately forgot) was also very good, skillfully driving the jeep to follow the pack of wild dogs that were hunting deer. Highly recommended for those who are not in a hurry, and aren't expecting National Geographic :)

Journey is done in a basic 16-seater bus. Of course, bumpy ride inside the forest. Charges - 650 rupees per adult and 350 for children aged 6 or above up to 12 years. Safari took about one and half an hour. Better to book online and arrive, saves lot of hassle. Spot booking takes long waiting at the counter. True to the disclaimer posted in the booking office premises, it's purely luck or chance to come across any animals. We spotted dears and a lone elephant. Really nothing much beyond that. However, the ride into the jungle itself was thrilling. I even wondered if it was safe as the bus had no window grills but only glass. I would suggest to take up safari only if you are very keen to see few animals in their natural habitat, but then again depends on your luck.

Choose early morning or late evening safari rides to see more animals. We went on 09 Am in the morning and seen these animals only. If you are lucky you can get a chance to see tigers.Safari ride cost is around 300 per person and you need to pay separately if you carry a professional cameras.Overall it's a good experience

Very bad experience. They can do lot better. Mismanagement in issuing tickets. Jeeps are kept in parking t and they say not available. No willingness to work hard and make it tourist hub.

please DO NOT opt for Bandipur Safari. It is very well known that the safari has now stopped for the core zones since 2019. So THERE ARE NO MAJOR ANIMAL sightings. The positive reviews that you read are 2 out of 100. The safari is an absolute waste of money. (They charge A LOT) and they don’t even bother to tell you that the safari doesn’t happen in the forest core zones hence the only animals you get to see are Deers and Langoors. Please opt for a trip to Tadoba or Kabini instead.

It's a huge forest with very little chance to see a tiger.
