No escalator or lift facility in this station. It is hard for disabled passengers to move around different platforms. In terms of cleanliness and hygiene it is pretty good. Toilets facility is remotely available. Cafeteria is available from morning till 10.00 PM. Ticket counters are open 24/7. Debit cards or credit cards can’t be used. Paid Parking is available for both cars and two wheelers. Clean and free Drinking water is available. Totally 6 platforms. 1st platform right while you enter, rest of the platforms can be reached only by climbing 30 steps using foot over bridge. It is safe and secured station patrolled 24/7. Station is 4 kms from the town centre. You have frequent buses from and to railway station to main bus stand.

One of the cleanest railway junctions i've come across in Tamil nadu. It is super clean than chennai Central or other city stations. It has 6 platforms, which are connected by overbridge accessible by staircase. No escalator facilities, so elder people and disabled will have trouble to cross. Escalator facilities should be included as it is a junction.

Could be better maintained. I went from Coimbatore by Jan Shatabti Express. They give platform no. 3 when the Platform No.1 was free. There is no lift/escalator. Commuters are to take head over bridge by walk, carrying children and luggage. Also, there is only one way steps to climb. So when train reaches, there is crowd of commuters forcing them to take more time to go to the exit gate. Similarly, I returned by the same train. They train started from Platform No.3 only, while Platform No 1 was free. Railway authorities should think on humanitarian grounds and let the train reach Platform No 1 so that commuters need not climb gear over steps to get out of the station.

The Mayiladuthurai junction is an important junction connecting many pilgrim centres. The station is not having any waiting hall separately to accommodate the passengers who happened to reach the station during night hours. Chairs are provided in the main ticket counter hall but the chairs are not fit to sit. It is painful to sit for more than 10 minutes. Fans are not adequate to meet the requirements. Particularly at night hours who are forced to stay in Junction feel worse. I felt personally bad in spending 3 hours before sunrise. Further prepaid taxi stands are not available. Taxi drivers who are available near Junction are demanding three times more than the due. Some welfare measures must be taken immediately as this place is connecting many pilgrim centres. Railway authorities and Civil authorities must do something to develop the provision of basic amenities viz shelter, water and air.

Used retiring room first week of march 23. I found that there is no pillow covers on the pillow and no bedsheets provided which is a basic facility to be provided. Tables are not cleaned and dust bin is brocken. Brocken chair is kept inside bathroom. Will the authority look into this issue and provide better service to passengers.
