This War Memorial was built in Memory of Brave Martyrs who sacrificed their life for our Nation in Kargil war of 1999. The whole area is surrounded by rough mountains, the environment here is very tough, this place comes on the way to Kargil town. One should visit once here to pay tribute and respect to our brave soldiers. One should be properly dressed while coming to thisplace.

A beautiful memorial to the martyrs and brave soldiers who fought and laid down their lives in the Kargil War of 1999. With the famous Tiger Hill and Tololing peaks in the background, the place feels solemn but grand and beautiful. There are stone statues and plaques all around the grounds etched with the stories of some of the bravehearts. There's a museum displaying photos and many of the things used or captured during the war including a fighter plane and artillery guns. They also show a 10 min film about the war in a dedicated hall. There's also a gift shop selling tees, books, key chains, etc. Being the beginning of the season, there were very few people when we visited, so the whole place was peaceful and felt serene. The drive to this place from Kargil town was also very beautiful and scenic.

Built in the memory of our brave martyrs. You get to hear the struggles they overcome on daily basis to the spine chilling war incidents . You can understand how the brave soldiers protect us staying in extreme conditions. They have a light and sound show as well . It is very well maintained and we should follow all the instructions mentioned by them once we enter. You can get clear view of Tololing and Tiger hills which was captured back by Indian army during Kargil war.

This War Memorial was built in Memory of Brave Martyrs who sacrificed their life for our Nation in Kargil war of 1999. It is also known as Drass War Memorial and is situated in Drass which is around 50km from Kargil Town in Ladakh. The museum houses all the details related to the Kargil war. One can also see the Bofors canon which was used during the war. All the names of the martyrs are mentioned in the memorial. A soldier will brief the audience about the details and the intricacies involved in the war. They also show a 10min documentary over here. Memorial is opened from 8/9am to 5pm. Tiger Hill & Tololing hill are visible from here.

So many balidan to protect our country! I bow my head to Indian army for their contribution in the Kargil war. All are vividly narrated here. With picturesque scenic surrounding the place is well maintained. No entry fee. Only aadhaar card or passport is needed.

The only shrine a human must visit, pay gratitude and retrospect. Death is not a matter of victory, defeat, claims etc, Death is a human travesty brought upon humans and soldiers by stupidity pandemic. I cried here and so did many of us. It's a constant reminder for all the war mongers that your selfishness caused us to loose soldiers, sons, fathers, husbands, brothers, friends and above all Good Humans. It's on the road and everytime you feel pseudo patriotic or nationalist visit here and you will be cured of your shallow pettiness. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Must visit for every Indian to know and realise what had happened in the past and to know that for our present day security there were 559 people who gave their lives. Your heart will ooze with patriotism. You will feel lucky to be alive and grateful to the Indian Army. 🫡 Definitely a must visit ✅ There’s a message written when you exit that reads: “WHEN YOU GO HOME TELL THEM OF US AND SAY ‘FOR YOUR TOMORROW, WE GAVE OUR TODAY’ “ Visited on 08.04.2023 Reviewed on 12.04.2023

Proud to visit the Kargil War Memorial, built in the memory of the heroes of our nation. We cannot thank our soldiers enough for their valour and the sacrifice to fight against and defeat the enemy. A great place to visit and to learn about the Kargil war, which is known as Operation Vijay. The war ended on July 26, 1999 and it is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas. A big salute to all the soldiers and heroes!!!

It's guaranteed to be emotional as soon as you enter this war memorial. There is no entry fee however there is a fee if you want to take pictures using your phone or DSLR. The soldiers on the gate would instruct you how to behave once you are inside the campus. Every moment you spend there is going to be emotional especially when you watch an 8 min documentary on the Kargil war voiced by AB. It's a must visit when you are in dras.
