One of the best place to buy stuff from andaman. Its not just a furniture shop but one can get various items to shop for made of wood and shell. 100 pure natural coconut oil is also worth buying from here. Its a double floor shop so one must visit the upper area as well. They also have a outlet at airport. There are many trademark violations of the name Sagarika so one has to be careful as to which one is the authentic government emporium. One can find many taxi and auto just outside the emporium so its not tough to travel around this emporium

Nice and authentic place to buy handicrafts, gift items, shells, garments with proper bill and invoice. Prices are not high, but since you cannot bargain here you can get similar items at lower price outside in the local market.

The prices of accessories are about three times more than their prices in the normal market. The staff isn't much helpful either. Would call it the Government's cheap strategy to loot tourists. Can be visited for refreshing in the A.C. rooms on hot days. Highly discommended.

Authentic and original government Sagarika emporium. Price of items were lesser than beachside shops at Havelock & Neil. Do not get cheated by other duplicate ones across the city. Tourists are taken to other shops with similar names (but different spellings) where drivers get commission. There's a Vattika store next to this which sells organic spices like cinnamon, clove, coconut oil etc.

The Andaman Government Emporium is like a showcase of cool stuff from the islands, with handmade jewelry, wooden crafts, and other local treasures. The people working there know a lot about these things and can tell you interesting stories about each item. Now, here's the catch - the prices are a bit high. I get it, good things cost more, but some of the prices felt like a punch in the wallet. It makes you wonder if everyone can afford to take home a piece of Andaman. The store itself is pretty nice, though. It's big and clean, and you can walk around comfortably. They've even got little signs that tell you about the local artists who made the stuff. It's a nice touch that adds to the whole experience. Here's my suggestion: they should add some more things that don't cost an arm and a leg. Maybe have some sales once in a while or explain why some things are so pricey. It would make the cool Andamanese stuff more doable for everyone. In a nutshell, the Andaman Government Emporium is like a mini museum of island treasures, but the prices might make you think twice. It's a cool place, but it could be even better if they made it possible for more people to take home a piece of Andaman without breaking the bank.

It is a combination of two stores in front of each other, the left to the door having more options. It has some unique gift options and it is very reasonable. The only thing I found inadequate was the billing section, as we purchased items from several different stalls. Overall in my opinion it is a one stop shop for all gifting needs.

Visited to buy some gifts and souvenirs for relatives and friends, its a place where you will find most of the items you look for, one shop stop. Only issue is that price of the items will be 20 to 30% higher than roadside sellers to manage staffs and other exps. If you dont compare the prices with outside small shops then you wont get disappointed.

It's a Govt undertaking Emporium. Here u will get all household souvenirs including wooden showpieces for home. The rates are also reasonable. Here u can buy andaman printed T-Shirt also for your memory. U can also buy Wooden showpieces like Dolphin, Deer, Crocodile, Butterfly etc. Overall a must place to visit and buy the items.

I wish I could have spent more time there. I reached there 15 min prior to closing time. It is governed by A&N Administration. It has almost everything related to shell and wooden piecework. Note that there are several shops with similar name so be careful about finding the authentic one.

It has a huge stock of wooden items. They are beautifully carved. We got a hornbill and swan for our home. My daughter got eggs made of wood for herself. Since the items are detachable, they are easy to pack and carry back home. The prices are reasonable. We got gift items for our friends too. Being a government shop, the problem is they close early and are not willing to cooperate with customers.

Lovely collection of genuine items. Fixed prices but billing is too slow. Only card and cash but no upi

Run by government, a very good emporium having large collection of items made from sea produce (shell etc). It is reasonably priced. Best to purchase souvenirs or gift items in Port Blair.

While they do offer a variety of souvenir items, I found them to be a bit overpriced. If you're on a budget, you might consider exploring the stalls near the seashores, such as Corbyn's Cove Beach or Wandoor Beach, where you can find similar items at lower prices. However, it's worth noting that the quality and variety might be more limited in those places. Another option is to check out the nearby emporiums, as they might offer better rates and a wider selection of souvenirs.

Very bad behaviour from the staff. They are spying customers as if we are thieves. You can’t roam around freely to view the shop. Prices are skyrocketing. Do not recommend. Save your money and buy items from street vendors they are more humble and helpful

Unpleasant experience. A simple T-shirt was around 700 rupees and this earring was unused, the glue just gave up and fell off, still searching for the missing piece

If you are in Port Blair & want some authentic handicrafts to take with you as souvenirs of your visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands, you should pay a visit to this Government run emporium. This is a huge outlet with lots of handicraft items made of wood, coconut shell, sea shell, coral etc. The only thing I didn't like of this outlet is the attitude of the staff. They seem less interested in communicating with the customers & guiding them to buy the right stuff. I visited the place around 12.30 pm. I approached a few staff for some recommendations & wanted to know about the handicrafts in detail but they seemed busy in themselves. So, I think they need to show a bit of more professionalism. Overall it was a decent experience.

Good shop for low cost , okayish souvenir. There are too many varity of limited type of items. But still you'll get something to give as a small gift. There were 6 people doing our billing together. It was funny to see 🙈. Enjoy your short stay here I'd say. Things are very cheap.

Truly a government authorized shop. The items selling are shells and sea items decors. The ladies those who are interested in the shell items (ie like bangles , earrings, etc.) is a good place. There are 2 floors here but, almost all the items are same at each floors. home decors made of shells are also available here.
