I
have
visited
Kalipokhari
lake
twice;
first
in
January
2015
and
second
in
May
2019.
The
lake
is
on
the
trail
to
Sandakphu.
Sandakphu
is
the
highest
point
of
the
West
Bengal.
In
the
route
to
Sandakphu,
Kalipokhari
is
a
perfect
place
to
stay.
A
few
local
people,
a
small
ground,
a
broken
wall,
and
the
lake
synchronizes
beautifully.
Kalipokhari
is
almost
at
the
border
of
India
and
Nepal.
"Pokhari"
stands
for
'Lake'
and
"Kali"
is
'black';
A
small
lake
surrounded
by
mountains
with
black
water
in
it.
The
local
people
worship
the
lake
in
a
religious
ritual.
The
colorful
small
flags
make
the
scene
more
attractive.
You
could
be
lucky
to
see
the
lake
frozen
and
white
ice
on
the
ground.
One
can
take
a
direct
car
to
Kalipokhari
from
Manebhanjan
or
Dhotrey.
