I decided to take the bad reviews with a grain of salt and try for myself. Glad I did! I have no complaints, no issues at all. I thought it was great for the price! Room was clean, had mini fridge, microwave, ironing board/iron & hair dryer. My room is 203 and have a roomy king size bed and desk to work. Would def stay here again. Front desk staff was very nice. Plenty of parking and Target is right next door (walking distance)

Upon arrival at this facility I was greeted very warmly by the receptionist and check-in was seemless and quick. After reading previous reviews I was apprehensive about the room, but I was very pleased, the first thing I noticed was the smell of disinfectant and the room was spotless. The mattress was a little lumpy and soft, but I got a great night's sleep. I would definitely stay here again.

After looking at other red roof hotels and pictures for this hotel, I was expecting a good experience. We ended up checking out 10 minutes after getting our key card. The first impression was a 2 star hotel, with questionable guests. When trying to check in on a foreign ID, the clerk struggled to check us in. There was no elevator that we saw, just 2 flights of stairs in the back of the 3 story hotel. After lugging out 20k bags up the stairs and into our room, 3 guys walked past. They stared at us through the window, which made us feel unsafe. Issues with the room itself: The white sheets were stained. The room looked run down, without repairs. The bottom of the bathroom door was chipped away. There was spots of fecal matter on the walls, as though someone had messed themselves and it hadn't been cleaned properly. The shower looked like it might give you a fungus, and didn't have plug so you couldn't take a bath if you wanted to. After travelling from another country for 24 hours, this wasn't the best experience to have to deal with. The hotel was dirty, and didn't feel safe for two women. We ended up booking another room at another hotel down the road.

If you have the spare cash, go try somewhere else. For the price, it's okay at best. Close to a few places which is amazing but it was a lot to be desired for. The room had a smoke-smell to it, although it is stated as "non-smoking," the hotel has a weed smell. And while staying for multiple days, there weren't any cleaning people to clean the room or give fresh towels, etc. Luckily I had brought my own. Additionally, the TV doesn't work, the AC is pretty meh, and the shower leaked. I guess it's just... Okay or slightly less. I don't recommend but if you're in a hurry, and want convenience to locations, then this is a hotel to think about.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I reserved a room with a two double beds for 3 days. Upon arrival we got a king size bed, it seems hotel management had changed our reservation and had neither asked or informed us. The room smelled musty. They had no other rooms that had two beds left and when I called another hotel close by, they were completely booked. My 87yo mom was exhausted, as we had just spent the last 9 hours driving and we both simply didn't have the energy to keep looking for another hotel. I just read another review and my key card didn't work for most of the time as well. As the other review said, every time I wanted to enter my room, I had to go to the office and request someone let me in. It looks like there are people living here long term and the whole atmosphere seems sketchy. I wish I'd reserved a room some where else. I realize this is a low price hotel, but I've paid budget prices before and had great experiences. This place is low rent. Should've paid a little more for a much better experience. Don't stay here.

If I could give it a zero, I would. I was going to give this place a chance. I noticed that the room was recently painted. Everything was pretty much good, for the price paid. I had to pass a chlorox wipe on the toilet because I noticed urine stains. The sheets smell was overpowered by bleach. If I were to give it a rating just on that, maybe 3 stars. I thought that was it until I woke up in the morning with bed bug bites all over my arm and my stomach. Safe to say I would never return again or to the same company elsewhere ever again.

Since I was asked to add comments: Hair and cat litter in bathroom behind the door. Musty smell to room. Room smelled like the locker room of an indoor pool. Not terrible, and you tune it out quickly, but your initial reaction is a biological/instinctual response saying it's not healthy air. Knobs on AC are worn, so not sure what I set them to but the room did get cold so good enough for me. AC knob fell off trying to use it. AC was very loud, but that is expected with those types of old wall insert units. Not that I would need it but the telephone in the room had the cord to it cut and dangling there. Was funny to look at. Outlet I plugged my phone into did not work, but there were plenty of other outlets to choose from. Bar of soap was moldy. How does soap get mold? I think the cardboard box it was in got wet from previous guests. Mattress was too soft for me, but it was very clean without stains. No signs of bugs. Sheets and pillows were comfortable. Refrigerator ran so cold it froze solid the food that was put in it. It even froze ice packs. Drawer next to the bed and it was sticky and damaged by liquid. Someone probably spilled soda all over it and didn't clean up after themself. Carpet was clean. All that said, for the price this is not a bad place to stay at all. Within the same low-budget category it would be difficult to find better.

Just checked out #112 this morning 6/1/23. Horrible experience! We were in IL for my Sister's Wake & Funeral. Arrived on 5/30/23 from O'Hare at 2:20 p.m. (40 min. prior to 3 p.m. check-in), went into the office and asked if we could check-in early as we needed to prepare for services. Was told "NO" unless we paid an additional $25. A $25 extra charge for 40 minutes was ridiculous so we drove around went to the store and grabbed a quick bite to eat. Keep in mind that before leaving we also drove around the grounds and clearly saw there was no Housekeeping being done at that time. Got back at exactly 3 p.m. and had no problem checking in except then we had to rush to refresh and get to the Funeral Home. Also, that same evening guests in nearby rooms played loud music in their room with the doors open because they were smoking outside. That went on until 10:30. Then, that same night, just down a few rooms guests decided it was ok to sit around to drink and smoke in the area between the parking lot and rooms. Loud talking, laughter etc. until 2 a.m. Also, please don't believe the rooms look like they do in the pictures on the Hotel website. Our room had 2 beds, period! No microwave, no small fridge, not even chairs. Why have a desk if you can't sit at it? There were also problems with the "key cards" used for room entry. When we first checked in it didn't work and had to take it back to the office to be re-programed. Then again on the second day (5/31) we left early and came back in the evening. Again the card wouldn't work. Back to the office for re-programing. I chose this Hotel because of it's location to where we needed to be for the Wake and Funeral and it's reasonable rates. My mistake! Would have gladly paid a little more for better accommodations. Will never ever stay at this Hotel again nor will I promote it to family who often visit the area from out of town.

Two stars only because the room was clean. However , hotel staff are very shady . I’m alone in my room, I get a knock at the door saying from three men. I open the door they told me that if I have a party I will be fined. I drove around to the office to the check in area to see what’s going on because again I’m here alone and confused about what party? The man said he was just telling me in case I do. I felt bothered for no reason . Why create a problem about something when there is no problem even present ? This happened shortly after I check in and made me very uncomfortable the rest of my stay.

Got my son a room there for one night and the next morning he had bites all over his back from bed bugs. There was no soap at all and one shampoo & conditioner sample that was half used. There was also what looked like dried up blood in the ice container and the room smelled of cigar smoke. I won’t even go into the employee who checked us in because that would take too much time. For $75 you might as well spend the extra 25 to 50 and get a better room. Also I would like to mention the crowd of people outside drinking and smoking all night. Not safe at all… If I could I would give this place zero stars.

Upon check in first look at bed was horrible. Urine stained sheet only with flat sheet. Hotel was completely out of wash clothes so I had to buy my own. Got transferred to different room air conditioner was so old and filthy didn't work floors so sticky water drainage was very poor finally third room was only doable because we were so tired. Completely unexceptable for $100 a night never will I stay here again

Very clean establishment; great location next to Target. Never ending hot water and fairly deep bathtub. No microwave or fridge. Loud clientele who liked to get their drink on and just about everyone smoked out on the balconies even by my no-smoking room. But all were nice. Staff super friendly and helpful. HBO and espn (Note to the person from the business who replied: "neverending hot water" was a compliment-that is a good thing! :)

I stayed at this hotel 3 times. They have excellent service. The workers do excellent work if I would return there. It is a safe place. The manager and his workers have everything in order, the rooms are clean. I can not tell. The same thing about the other red roofs, huh. hosted. at Arlington heights and w Algonquin Rd Honestly 5 stars for Willowbrook Red Roof. For me it is #1⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worst customer service ever!!! There were so many things wrong with the room, but Laura, I think her name is, was the rudest person EVER!!!! We booked a room for early check-in and paid extra yet we weren't allowed to check in for over 2 hours THEN I was charged an extra $25 for no reason! I paid for a room with a fridge and didn't get one. I'm diabetic and need my insulin refrigerated. I asked if I could put it in the office fridge. She lied and said there wasn't one! Later another employee did it for me. When we got it she was really nasty about it!!! The manager was equally horrible!!! There were bugs in November, the sheets weren't clean enough, the heat was off and we froze! There was a rock frozen on the sidewalk and we kept tripping on it! The reason for the review is what kind of horrible person doesn't want to store medicine???!!! Truly evil!!!! Is that even legal??? We paid more for one night on a Monday then we did elsewhere for Tuesday and Wed!!! Then to be treated like that!!!! 🤬

I'm not sure where the bad reviews are coming from, I think people just love to complain. The room was fine, It was clean and comfortable. The only thing that I will say is that it is definitely not worth 80$-100$+ a night. For that price I'd rather stay at the holiday Inn or the Hilton, just my opinion.

I was not the biggest fan of this place. I expected the room size. I was staying with my partner so we didn’t need a giant room but no refrigerator or microwave was pretty disappointing. We had gotten this inn last minute since we’re both adults but under 21 so we had to have my grandmother check in for us. Because of this, our previous reservations at another inn fell through and we didn’t get to research much here. Even so, the room looked kinda dirty. The blankets had cigarette stains and holes despite being “smoke free.” Our room reeked which in turn made us smell like whatever odor that even was. The walls were also paper thin. I could hear exactly what people were saying outside our room. As my grandmother had to check in for us, I didn’t have much contact with any of the employees. Although, one day we had been out and about and my partner realized he had lost our key card somewhere. My grandmother had the spare so she ended up dropping it off at the inn office so we could pick it up. When we went, the lady at the desk seemed extremely bothered and frustrated that we didn’t know where the other one was. I think that was reasonable but it looked like she made us another card instead of just giving us the one my grandma had dropped off? Regardless, she wasn’t the most pleasant person to speak with. Especially when we checked out and another employee said it was fine we only had the one… I really only stayed here out of convenience but I’m not sure I would enjoy having to stay here again. You get what you pay for I guess..

This place is an armpit! Dirty, smells like smoke, dried blood on the sink and counter, toliet never stopped running, smashed roach on the wall, no snacks at all, uncomfortable bed in a "premium" room. Spend a little more $$ and stay elsewhere. Avoid!!!!!

No wifi, sheets were dirty, the staff was to check in was friendly other then that would avoid this place and go stay at the Marriott or La Quinta

Overall, I had a great experience with the staff being incredibly helpful, and the customer service was great. The room was wonderful, clean, and a great accommodation. The housekeeper manager making the stay a whole lot easier by being helpful throughout the stay.

The motel is conveniently located close to dining and shopping. Everything in the room worked properly and was in decent condition. I don't mind that it's a classic Red Roof with doors that open to the outdoors. It achieved what I needed. As little as any hotel room I've ever stayed in, the room was quite small. Although Red Roof would have been happy to upgrade to a premium room, there was no refrigerator or microwave.

On the second day I came late at night to find out that the room service cleaned my room literally .. including my belongings. It was an empty room no chargers, medicines or water or anything I brought with me. I went downstairs but the receptionist didn’t know anything about it and he confirmed they didn’t check me out. When I checked out the other day I asked them about it so they finally admitted that the room was cleaned and they have the chargers. They don’t know about my medicines so I had to leave without them. A few minutes later they came to me in the parking lot to give me 2 out of 3. I understand that accidents happen but the denial of my room being cleaned until I gave proof of the person name who left an envelope for tips annoyed me it made me look I’m the one sho did something wrong not them!! Also because of their misjudgment I didn’t take my medicines after a heavy meal which spiked my blood sugar. It’s bad anyway you look at it: staff, management and / or rooms readiness

Employees in office were exceptionally pleasant and made me feel welcome. Sorry, but I can't remember the name of the woman who works during the day Monday thru what I assume is Friday, was EXCEPTIONALLY friendly and easy going. Made my day definitely brighter with her friendly personality and ease to talk to. Also was knowledgeable enough to not have to refer to any binders to answer any questions I had and didn't pass me off to another employee who" would know what I was talking about". Recommend this place if you need an overnight stop and definitely could bring the kids!!

  • 3/5 Boring S. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely not horrible. But I've stayed in some bad motels before and some really nice places so the spectrum of my experience is wider than most. For the cost mid-week, it's not bad. Good location, too.

**PLEASE****PLEASE****PLEASE****PLEASE****PLEASE***Don't fall for the pictures. I was traveling form out of state to be exact Texas. The checking is a hassle the room I requested did not have even a blow dryer yet it's a plus I was told I had to call in to requested and to see if it was available. Secondly the place reeked in MJ people were sketchy i had a Black lady follow my family member to one of her rooms and not to mention the strippers and mostly they want to charge you up like a luxury hotel. *PLEASE****PLEASE****PLEASE****PLEASE****PLEASE**** if you have any children, it's not the place to go.

Pretty sure I have bedbugs now. Been to hotels all over this nation and this is the second worst one I've ever stayed at. The worse one no longer exists, so this is currently the worst hotel in existence. Seems to be no pride in this place, or effort to improve even after all the terrible reviews! Zero stars? Wish I could give this place negative stars!

We were here for 5 nights slept good nice shower power shopping all next door. We just were locked out everyday and had to get new cards constantly!! It never stopped. There system is questionable to do that or someone in the office was purposely inconveniencing us. Very clean room but the floor was filthy and socks under the bed and candy wrappers in the night stand. They didn't care,I wasn't complaining,I just wanted them to be aware what was missed. We always stay here, still.

It was clean and comfortable. But as we pulled up, the cops were addressing the riff raff 4 doors from my room. Then from 1AM to 2AM the riff raff next door thinks he can stroll outside my room talking on the phone. What is wrong with people?

Absolutely disgusting. We stayed 9/16-9/19 and the room had mold, roaches, food crusted into the floors, bugs everywhere and the smell was like a wet dog constantly. They wouldn’t refund us at all and refuse to even through calling corporate. Gross. Do not stay here. You get what you pay for.

Horrible! It was a HOT MESS! I was in town to see about my brother in the hospital. Stayed for 3 days. Keys didn't work several times - had to go back and forth to the office to get a key that worked properly. TV remote mysteriously disappeared and I had to go through an hour's worth of drama to get another remote that worked. Loud music, fights and cops ! A Hot MESS! Take my advice - pay a little more money and stay somewhere where you will be comfortable and have peace. On my drive back home, I stayed at a Quality Inn, it cost a little more money but it was worth it.

  • 1/5 Asif K. 11 months ago on Google
Horrible - Paid for a premium king room but no snacks / water in the mini fridge as advertised - when asked the front desk told it was extra cost. Lamps in the suite did not work and despite telling the front desk twice was not fixed. Also the safe in the room did not work and was broken. Ended up checking out and leaving early and moving to another hotel for the remainder of my stay.

  • 1/5 F s. 11 months ago on Google
If I could give them 0 stars I would. The most disgusting stay I've ever had. Smelly rooms, dirty bathroom, tub wouldn't drain and the room obviously was not cleaned beforehand. Was terrified the whole time that I would get bed bugs. Please do not stay here, just pay extra money and get some peace on vacation.

I payed for late check out. But house keeping woke me up 6xs telling me I had to leave because I didn't pay. I didn't listen because I know I paid for 1pm. Checking out,I spoke to the front desk and he clearly stated I payed, there was no issue and he also communicatd that to house keeping. So in conclusion, customer service is trash at this location.

  • 1/5 Antoinette M. 1 year ago on Google
Worse I've ever been to in my life, mold on the wall and the tub, door wasn't even attached, floor was dirty as he'll, they only had 1 towel in the room and it was used the pictures on there website definitely doesn't look like that in person. We had to leave immediately and they said we would get out money back and never did. Horrible experience I had to send the video and pictures I took to all the news outlets.

The room was okay up until housekeeping in the morning. Check out on the website says 12pm. Housekeeping came to my door at 10am. They knocked about 10 different times. In a very abrude way. When they came I had no idea what time it even was because there's no clock in the room. I told them to come back in 20 minutes multiple times yet he wouldnt stop knocking. Thinking I might have over slept Due to how house keeping was being i checked the time. Little to my knowledge it was 10am and I checked in last night at 2am. I picked this hotel because of the check out time. Then at 10:25am I have them come back and I talked to them about the check out time they say 11am. I told them the website says 12pm. Then the man switches his words to 10:30am. And there's a late check out fee. That's when I said I don't mind leaving now. But I am just saying I don't understand if check out is at 11am or 10:30am why are you harassing my room at 10am. I know they want to clean rooms but you can't just push people out of your hotel at anytime you want. And to knock the way he did and harrass, even lie. Thats I what I'm more upset about. It was beyond rude. Especially because it wasn't even time for check out yet.

If I could them zero stars, I would. This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. My family and I went here last week, we were told it was a $25 fee to check in early - ridiculous. We check in at 3pm, we checked out not even an hour after. My mom made the reservation, and the placed seemed really good online based off the pictures, unfortunately that wasn't the case. I have asthma, the place reeked of cigarette and marijuana smoke. I could barely breathe. I told my parents that I wouldn't be able to last the night there given my condition so we decided to leave and get another better hotel closer to the city. If it hadn't been for my asthma, we would have left either way thanks to the musty odour and the dirtiness of the room. The room was disgusting. The carpets made my white socks black, the bathroom had hairs on the floor and laying in the bed made me skin itchy. Who knows if they have bed bugs, I wouldn't be surprised. DO NOT STAY HERE. Like I said, we checked out that same day. We are from Canada, so we had no way of complaining on the website we used for the booking until we got home (today). I tried to file a complain to get a refund given that we did NOT stay the night and this hotel claimed that we did therefore they will not give us our money back. They give all the bad reviews on here the same exact response so I wouldn't be surprised if they said the same to me but I hope someone out there find this review helpful.

I have had an exceptional stay here in Willowbrook. The staff was amazing. They went way and beyond accommodating my every need (Which there were a lot!). I had been in several different rooms (double beds, large king size bed, one had a computer desk, microwave, and refrigerator) and every single one of them were very clean and immaculate. Clean bedding, pillows, towels. Soap and shampoo provided. Blankets were cozy and fluffy. Rooms were very clean smelling after housekeeping. The manager of housekeeping MARIA so caring...great personality...and will FIX any complaints/problems. She is a wonderful person both inside and out!! Laura and Rhonda at the front desk will also do their best as well to accommodate your needs. Very pleasant to be around. This includes Shaun in the afternoon. All the workers do an excellent job!! Vincent McCoy the manager keeps operations at the facility in good order. He is on the property daily except maybe on Sunday. He is polite, courteous...with a nice smile. A pet friendly hotel. My dog was treated great. I ran out of dog food for him one day...Maria found some food for him. The hotel is conveniently located near an urgent care, Target, Dennys, Jimmy John's Verizon...all within walking distance. I feel safe here and on the premises. I have met many nice people staying here. Honestly, I give this red roof location 5 STARS!!!
