This was a pleasant experience for my 1st time at this facility. Staff was amazing from registration right up to after my procedure. The only feedback I have is, when I went back to the outpatient ambulatory suite to wait for a Nurse to come get me, i was in a lounge for about 1/2 hour before anyone acknowledged me. And the lounge was VERY COLD! Other than that, no complaints. And great experience.😊👍🏾

Largo currently going through construction for new entrance. My husband was there for surgery. The surgery waiting room needs a make over broken chairs and dirty floors. Staff someone to help family members with information. Why tell people to use valet parking when they close at 6pm. Then you got deal with security to get your car. Nurse staff was friendly and helpful.

Do I get one of those mail in reviews? I had the worst experience of my life coming to this hospital. Gave them my ID and they still messed up my date of birth. Told them the one medication I am allergic to and what did they try to send me home with? Yup, the one med I’m allergic to. Never received pain meds after I was told they were ordered. Scan said I had a kidney stone. Before the scan, a nurse practitioner asked if I was pregnant and when I said no I was asked if I was sure. I’m sorry, I lost my partner last year tragically and unexpectedly, so yeah, I’m sure I’m not pregnant. wouldn’t take a hamster here they are so bad. Don’t even get me started on the Dr that came into my room. Do I feel better? Yes doc, I feel great! Get me out of here before something bad happens. Suffered all weekend until I finally passed the stone Monday.

I was told the day before procedure that they're was no latex anymore on hospital grounds. When I arrived, the front entrance of the hospital was covered in thousands of latex balloons which caused anaphylaxis and ultimately left me in the hospital 5 days for a procedure I should have been in and out within 3 hours. Due to the wind that morning, latex particles were all throughout the air. I even tried entering through the ER. However, latex ended up being on employees clothes and transfered to me during my procedure as the employees had been outside interacting with the "celebration". My room was not cleaned for the first 3 days I was there. No matter how many times I asked. I also repeatedly asked for some wipes to clean myself and help washing my hair. I was admitted Friday morning and nothing was cleaned until Monday. Both my husband and I got sick with norovirus while being in the hospital. I also had fluid stuck in my throat making it difficult to breathe and requiring more intensive treatment. My husband even had to go to MP's ER the day I got out because he was so sick. While I was in the hospital, I had difficulty breathing many times requiring treatment. One afternoon on Monday or Tuesday, I pages the nurse because I couldn't breathe, was gasping for air, and almost passed out! It took 45mi to an hour for anyone to get in there and my mom had to go hunt down help. I felt like I was dieing. This ended up happening twice. It's hospital policy that no LPN flush or inject anything into ports. On my final day, there was no RN on the floor that could deaccess and give meds into my port. The LPN did it, admitting it was against hospital policy because no one else on the FLOOR knew how. So many other issues like continuing to keep biofilm and adhesives on me after me repeatedly having allergic reactions to them occurred. I was told by nurses that it was hospital policy to have them in subjecting me to more breathing issues. At no point did I feel safe at Largo Med. I left on Wednesday without being fully recovered because I was getting sicker and was afraid the terrible care given to me would kill me. My husband ended up missing 4 days of work and you cost us thousands in medical bills and missed income. Oh and the bedside commode I was given was extremely rusty. Disgusting. I will never go here again.

On Aug. 21, 2023, I had colon cancer surgery by a very fine doctor. The surgery was completely successful. I spent five days in the hospital, with two nurses each day. On the third day of surgery, a nurse began yelling and screaming at me, reason unknown. Remember, I'm lying in bed after major surgery. I wore a heart monitor, which must have blared, when a group of people rushed into my room. My blood skyrocketed to 177, threw me into Atrial Fibrillation. That nurse nearly killed me. Now, a cardiologist is to become my BFF. I'm to take the world's most expensive medication for the rest of my life. The other nurses were wonderful, but it took only one to nearly end my life. In a review sent to me by the hospital, I named the nurse. For your sake, I hope that girl is removed from all sick person contact forever.

Making fun of an overdose patient is not professional, if you need coping mechanisms you should seek them. Patient confidentiality is lacking. I knew the first and last names of almost every patient including why they were there. I understand they probably deal with overdoses all the time however that patient has a right to be treated with respect even if they are a frequent flyer. If you want your personal business exploited this is the hospital to go to

My husband had a kidney transplant here and everyone at this hospital from the people who checked us in, the nurses, doctors and other staff where amazing. Their transplant ward is beautiful and very well run. The transplant doctors are right across the street so he can get his bloodwork done and if he needs something at the hospital he can walk over, its nice to have everything so close. During check out we had a lot of people come and discuss everything with us and gave us their contact information in case of questions. Overall we had an AMAZING experience with Largo transplant and I would 100% suggest them to anyone who can choose them.

I am here right now. The medical staff is AMAZING. I have a private room. Relatively quiet for a hospital. Easy to receive visitors. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because a FEW, not many, of the nurses are not that great. And that is my only complaint.

Don’t EVER GO HERE OR ALLOW ANYONE YOU KNOW TO GO HERE! I was admitted to the hospital 2 times. I had 2 ER visits in 2 weeks and I had the worst experience ever. The nurses they employ do not like their jobs once nurse told me she was giving me such poor care because she was overworked and how they gave her 7 people to take care of over the typical 5 so that’s why she couldn’t help me when I called. I had a surgery with complications and also had complications after surgery and I was so upset at the level of care I got that when I had to be admitted to the ER for a 3rd time because HCA discharged me twice when I still had major issues like sepsis!! I went to another hospital and started all over again with everything because I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR ANYTHING!! I will go to a Baycare Hospital specifically Morton Plant which is 5 more minutes down the road and I had the best care they didn’t release me until I was on the road to getting better.

Recently, my wife broke her wrist on a Saturday morning and we had to choose a local hospital to go to. My wife insisted on HCA even though there was another well known hospital closer. Upon our arrival to the emergency room we were greeted and attended to in a very friendly and professional manner, which was a very pleasant and welcome surprise. The nurses and attending doctor listened patiently and made us both feel comfortable and relaxed. The attending nurse who put the splint on my wife explained everything he was doing so that my wife could feel at ease. We left the emergency room and headed to the pharmacy both talking about the great experience we had. Unexpectedly my knee started hurting tremendously as it does about once a year as I've had many knee surgeries. The next day I went to the same emergency room and was received equally as well as the day before. I received a shot to the knee and a prescription for oral medicine and was in and out in less than an hour! Needless to say, I was very well pleased. Later in the week we had to return for a followup visit and bonescan tests, etc. at the main hospital for my wife. Everyone greeted us pleasantly and wanted to know if we had been helped!! I was blown away by this close attention to all the patients there. We even went to the cafeteria which has awesome food! We ate there and even bought some food to go! My wife and I highly recommend HCA Largo Hospital to everyone! We've already referred many of our friends. Thank you all there at HCA for the exceptional service and congratulations on reaching such a level of care!

From the moment I stepped in to do my pre-op to the moment I left everyone here treated me wonderfully! Staff was very friendly and responsive. Room was fantastic. Everything was clean. Didn't smell like a hospital, smelled just fine. Everybody was encouraging and friendly. They took the time to explain things and answer any questions I might have had. They made me feel welcome. Other than the fact that I have a big cut in my body it seemed more like a spa experience than an operation.

The ER Doctor that night was awesome. Professional and understood my situation. Help me to calm down knowing he was in charge of what comes next . Thank you very much . The two nurses on on call . Taking care of me were better than exceptional. Beyond the great care they took with my situation. They treated my like a person in need . Not like someone they wound never see again so who cares . For all your help and kindness. I thank you both.

I had surgery over the weekend and stayed overnight here for one night plus the next afternoon on the fifth floor. My surgeon did a great job and I’m healing great! The overnight nurse Brooke was excellent, she checked on me many times and gave me all my meds and shots right on time, without me having to call or remind her. she was the best. The day techs and nurses however didn’t communicate as well and seems to forget about me.. it also took them 50 mins to get me a wheelchair after the tech told my wife to go get the car, my wife was waiting outside that whole time and it was V frustrating for her. Also the food was just ok, for hospital food it wasn’t bad but not great. They had entrées listed to order but didn’t have what was listed to serve, so again that was V frustrating for my family.

My recent visit to the Freestanding ER was excellent. They took me back immediately, I had x-rays with a minor procedure and I was out in 2 hour. The doctor was thorough and explained everything. My nurse Amanda was wonderful, she went above and beyond! I would definitely use this facility again if the need arises.

The staff are all wonderful and caring. The nurses work so hard. 2.nurses didn't show.up one day and my nurse had to cover everyone. I feel for lindsey and she always had a smile. I' loved having Dr. Fields. He is very approachable. He listens. He cares. He answers all your questions. He had a calming effect on me.

Heart wrenching and terrifying experience. 78 year old patient left in pre-op with nothing to drink and no iv fluids for 7 hours. Unfortunately, this boils down patient neglect and a complete lack of a minimum of care. Surgeon was skilled, kind and responsive, but, it doesn’t appear protocols are in place to account for unforeseen delays in procedures. Very unfortunate for patients and families.

Went in for a high heart rate around 160 with other concerning symptoms. Had been like that for a few hours. They seemed concerned that it was that high but I still had to sit in the waiting room for a hour. They took blood out of the same exact stop 3x and once in the other arm. The man who was running the front put my iv in (he was very sweet and you can tell he loves his job) wore no gloves. I ended up being admitted. When I first got to my room the nurse told me she was going to be there in a minute. 30 goes by and she tells me that they just got someone else admitted on her floor so she was going to deal with them first. Then came back a hour later and said she was going to deal with the patient next to me. Then finally decided at least two hours later she was going to get what she had to do done with me. I was also given bad fruit with my food. I’m only giving two stars because some people were decent. Praying I don’t get an infection or anything from my iv site because the person wore no gloves and I didn’t see him wash his hands before sticking me.

Staff from check in to check out after surgery was caring and solicitous. All staff did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. The only thing I disliked was the long wait after check in until my surgery was accomplished - that's not a complaint, just the nature of the beast. I felt well taken care of throughout the process.

Repeatedly on August 28 and 29th 2023. Dr. Spergel kept trying to give medicine which I explicitly mentioned were not to be given to her. He did not bother with reading anything in the charts. One big indication is that he prescribed hydrochlorothiazide when my mother already has low potassium. I specifically mentioned this when talking the nurses of her medicine and drugs that will cause her problems. She complained of pain and he did nothing. The chief issue she was brought in for was low oxygen and she was put on oxygen for her stay however he has no answer for what should be done once she gets home. He stood at a distance when addressing my mother and did not even ask questions of any kind. He came said what he wanted to and left without any questions to perhaps see if there was anything he could do to make my mother feel any better. I gave this hospital a chance after a decade and they reaffirmed that the care is complete and utter nonsense. Biggest waste of medical care in the area. My family will never come to this place again.I get she was diagnosed with strep, however given that she already is recovering from Covid and Pneumonia for which she was in the ICU for, the care was simply horrible. No compassion no caring at all on the doctors part.

My name is Mary James. I was a patient Largo Medical Center from October 31 until November 2. I just want to say that this is by far the most amazing hospital I have ever been in. The care was top-notch and every single person I came in contact with was the utmost professional. I came to the emergency department feeling horrible. I came home feeling the best I have in months. Thank you to all who assisted me into the entire hospital for being such an amazing facility for the care of human beings.

My father was lucky enough to spend his last four days on this earth at this caring and compassionate hospital. Every one involved on the 3rd floor…(room 363) were amazingly thoughtful, respectful and again, compassionate. Top marks to all, especially nurse Carrie. How you do it day in,day out…I’ll never know… but I’m so grateful that you were there for my father’s care!! Thank you!!!!

The nurses, doctors and techs were wonderful, however your hospital was not clean. I had a pile of dirty laundry from changing my own sheets and towels sitting in a pile on my bathroom floor for 3 days. I did not see anyone with a mop or broom till my 3rd day out of ICU. The lady who did come in to sweep my room swept around the laundry on floor in bathroom. I do have pictures of this on my phone

I was admitted through the ER with aspiration pneumonia following an upper GI outpatient to evaluate the pyloris. I had been vomiting and poor bowel control and required IV electrolytes, antibiotics etc so needless to say I was in the right place. The nurses who cared for me were so kind and attentive; Jen, Sierra; Jacqueline, Derek: Leo and Kerry. I can't say enough about these people.

Even though I had been at their other hospital the night before with symptoms of a stroke, the emergency room personnel was made very aware that I am severely critically immune compromised and left me sitting in the waiting room before they took me back for about 2 hours. I was lied to on the phone by a member of the emergency room staff when I was told that I could get an MRI on Sunday at their facility. After waiting 2 hours then I was told that that was not true so my time was wasted and I was exposed to heaven only knows what kind of germs. Definitely not happy. Would not recommend.

While the care was good the billing has been an issue. Upon receiving the bill from the hospital, I called and asked if I paid in full if I could get a discount. I was granted a discount and paid that amount. 6 months later I was billed the remaining amount stating since I didn't pay the day I was in the emergency room (little of which I remember) I am not allowed a discount. My remaining balance was turned into collections. I disputed the amount stating I had paid in full with a discount provided and the reference number. It was declined. Why offer and take a discounted amount to only come back and reneged? Very disappointed.

My operation went well. Everyone (surgeon, residents, anesthesiologist, nurses, admitting, ...) answered every concern I had. My pain and anxiety were well managed. Communication were clear and timely. I received assistance when necessary with no fuss and lots of politeness. I went home with clear instructions on followup care, and details of the procedure. A+

I've been a patient multiple times this past year and it is the best possible hospital I've ever experienced. Organized, clean, friendly, efficient and very caring in all aspects of taking care of you. My health has been taken care of with the utmost respect and dignity by the finest surgeons, doctors, assistants, nurses and all the other staff. I would recommend this hospital to anyone!

I have not had a surgery in a long time. So I was not sure what to expect. And I am not the most compatible patient. I woke up in extreme pain. The worst I have ever been in. in my 3 days of staying at your hospital, I experienced: 1. Urine soaked sheets 2. Radiology not helping me when they came to get me. I was told not to move with out help orm my support. They left me on my bed with no call button. I had to call my wife and get the number to the front desk to have them call my nurse. And I told her that she would need help. So I sat there for almost 2 hours waiting and in pain. 3. I was sent home with a catheter that failed within 2 hours and had to call 911 and be taken to another hospital where they ran test and checked my out and got me straight. 4. I do not eat bread, beef or pork. So I was not eating. Like I said, I am not the best patient. Ron the Tech/ and Ron from Physical Therapy were great and helpful. Thanesha the RN was nice professional albeit not coming by as much. Housekeeping was awesome. I think that post op care needs some work at your hospital. Maybe talking to the patient to see how they are doing. Really doing. I was really afraid, alone and would have liked to have have someone that I could have relied on. Frank Kautsky

I have HCA insurance through my spouse and go to the Largo campus for my lab draws since it's free. For some reason I mistaken always think it's inconvenient to go to the hospital verse LabCorp, Quest or MedExpress. I don't know why, but my perception is that going to the hospital on a week day to get lab work will take forever. This just isn't true at Largo Med and never has been. I have listened to that perception and tried those other options in the past. I have waited up to an hour for service. That is where the true mistake is. My mom goes to Quest and complains about the wait each time. I was there on 6/14 before work for a lab draw. I parked my car at 7:00. I walked through security and was checked in, registered, had the lab drawn and was back in my car by 7:14! I think it most of that 14 minutes was spent walking to and from the building. The staff have always been quick but I was really impressed this time. They were fast and efficient, plus everyone was nice too. They moved you through the process with a smile on their face and kindness in their voice from registration to the lab. It was a nice blend of speed and respect for my time. I didn't feel rushed or just a number. I felt that my time was respected and the staff were working hard to provide courteous service in a timely manner. If that was the goal, it was achieved. Looks like I have to change my perception since the reality is different.

Went into ER with severe abdominal pain. I was quickly seen and CT was preformed. Everyone was very pleasant to work with. I left with prescriptions to heal up my issues within a few hours. One week later I feel much better. Thank you!

Start to finish, I could not have asked for a more knowledgeable, caring, attentive staff. I had neck surgery scheduled and I was "on deck" but my surgeon needed to attend to her first patient with complications. The team was unwilling to take me because they knew they could not safely do my procedure and chose to send me home. I respected that. They had both patients best interests at heart. I called it a dress rehearsal. Every member of the team came to explain exactly what was going to happen and answered all my questions. My surgery was a priority and I was rescheduled with 6 days. Again, every member came and talked with me. Mind you, while in surgery the impending hurricane, Ian, changed course and my home was an "A" zone and needed to evacuate. I awoke from a totally successful surgery to the kindest, most attentive staff I ever could have imagined. They kept me an extra day so I would be safe from the hurricane. Fortunately, Ian turned again and I did not go home to 3 feet of water in my living room, but through it all, the staff eased my mind and assured me all was well. NEVER, EVER have I had so much attention while hospitalized right down to hugs as I left. Once I heal I will need to return for lower back surgery. This first experience has made me totally confident that I will receive the same excellent quality care. I know I will be in good hands. Aimee Case

I had a very good experience in HCA Florida Largo Hospital. My evening nurse Amy and my day nurse Emilee were super! Amy admitted me and was so very kind. She listened to me and made me feel very comfortable. Emilee discharged me and was also very comforting. Since I was out of state, I was a little nervous being in an unfamiliar hospital. Amy eased my fears. They both explained all my treatments. The medical team on the floor was extremely thorough in reviewing my medical history. They also kept me very informed of my care. I truly thank everyone who cared for me during my stay.

I would like to thank the Physician Roy, Brain R. DO and his staff - They were amazing and very attentive to my hospital visit. Doctor Roy took time to explain to me my health concerns, and reinsure me that they would test and evaluate all of my results with me. I felt very comfortable and relax to know that I was in good hands with his medical knowledge and team - This doctor did exactly what he promise me and explanation of what was going with my left shoulder & arm. I came in the ER that Sunday morning feeling unsure about my health along with anxiety to top it off. After specking with the Doctor and his team I felt relax and relived that everything I was thinking was ruled out.. Thank you Dr. Rob, you and your team was amazing.

I’ve sat on this review for a month because I was unable to covey appropriately the immense gratitude that our family has for the staff at HCA LARGO. Not only is the care team extremely knowledgeable but they ensure that the patient and family feel as if they too are part of the team. The nurses, oh my goodness, THE NURSES! Specifically the nurses from the CT ICU A! We owe them a lifetime of thank you’s! The way they cared for my sister is something to be admired. As a nurse myself, watching their meticulous care, it reignited my passion for healing. It has encouraged me to be a better nurse. We are so quick to highlight the negatives that I wanted to make sure others knew how fantastic this team is.
