Too expensive, old equipment, inexperienced dentists. The UF-Seminole dental website brags of prices 30% less than regular dentists, but the prices they gave me in a treatment plan in March 2017 are the same as normal and experienced dentists' list prices and much higher than when using any dental savings plan program ($100/year, for Careington 500, accepted by 295 dentists within 20 miles of UF-Seminole). The $140 initial examination fee I paid at UF Seminole can be done for free at many dentists for new patients. Their equipment is old, still using old-fashioned x-ray machines (and so having the inside of your mouth repeatedly cut by x-ray film holders as happened to me here) instead of the new digital and painless x-ray machines that provide a quicker and much better view of your teeth and jawbones. No digital photos taken to help explain their diagnosis. The dental chair's neck rest was broken and would not stay up; they laughed it off instead of fixing it. The written UF treatment plan was only half-formed and unprofessional looking, without the detailed and itemized by procedure number that I had from regular modern dentists. I only went there because years ago I had a good experience and a good price from UF Gainesville dental faculty dental practice, but I am very disappointed in this UF-Seminole dental clinic operation.

If you could take any of the available reviews into consideration, please let it be this one. I recently went to this dental center for an inspection for one of my molars that was causing me a bit of pain then a cavity filling. The inspection was subpar as the assistants are not the best in my opinion (the x-ray was a bit painful), and the filling was even worse. I was seen by Dr. Brown who was nice however his work is not the same (I only gave this place two stars because of his attitude). He worked on ONE tooth for almost three hours so do not go if you need to be somewhere, and after 10 hours my mouth was still numb. I have also had soreness in my gums for over a week so I'm not sure what he did, but it was not right. For the price I paid, which I thought would be cheaper because its a schooling environment, I should not have had this experience. GO TO A REGULAR DENTIST AND SAVE YOUR MONEY/TEETH.

I am presently going there, after seeing two outside dentist where I felt they were more concerned with profit than being dentist. I am totally impressed with UF Dental Center. I was explain everything in detail and they are submitting a pre-authorization claim to my insurance where even the agents of my insurance stated that was great so I won't have any surprises in what comes out of my pocket. I feel very comfortable with them since I will be needing extensive dental treatment and their quality of service to this point. I will repost as I continue with their treatments. Update, I so far have had 8 implants done for the upper arch and waiting to heal. At the bottom arch 8 crowns have been done and they are awesome, Dr Hunt and the Lab did a great job. Now, going to have 4 implants inserted on the bottom arch. This will take time for the implants to be grabbed by the bone. I am glad I went with UF Dental they are so professional and caring. Will update again..

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I went there for a root canal hoping to save a little money. The price an experienced Endodontist gets is outrageous, but after what I encountered at this place, I'd gladly pay it. I saved about $200...big deal! They use you like guinea pigs there with dentists right out of school getting experience while working on you. I think THEY should pay US for the experience they're getting! This dumb broad dentist had to open and close my tooth 5 times (5 visits) to get it right. And even at that, if an Endodontist wasn't accidentally walking around there, I don't think she would have. Trust me...pay a little more and go to a dentist that didn't get their degree from Sears & Roebuck.

Don't go here to save money. I visited the clinic in Seminole about seven years ago. At the time, I had an agonizing fractured tooth that interfered with my eating. Of course, the reason I went to this student clinic was because I didn't have a high budget. The student and his instructor attempted to coerce me into spending $12,000 on other, less urgent procedures before they would agree to fix the painful fractured tooth. It felt like extortion. Instead I went to a top-rated private dentist with many years of experience who charged less for everything and gave me a terrific porcelain crown that solved my problem. Unfortunately I was out the money I had paid to UF for my consultation. Update: I recently saw a post from someone in the local community requesting a recommendation for an ethical dentist in the area. I think that says something about the type of education dental students get in this state. Argh.

I had a good experience at the University of Florida dental in St. Petersburg. Both doctor and hygienists were really kind and gentle on my sensitive teeth. They offer affordable prices. It's just a little bit hard to find it in the middle of the Seminole buildings.

I've been going there for years. They have jacked the prices so high that you may as well go to a private dentist. The office help is very rude and talk down to the majority of patrons. The dentists are students in their 2nd or 3rd year of school. They have full seasoned dentists that look over their work and give recommendations. The scheduling is only at certain times and it's hard to get in unless you are a pre-existing patient. All in all you are not saving much $ for all the hoops you have to jump through.

Please do not go there, you'll be paying the same amount of money to go to an experienced dentist. They choose the dentist for you, even if you were comfortable with a certain doctor they dont care about how you feel. Doctor Hong tortured me for 3 hours to extract a tooth, she couldn't even get it out she had the director do it. I asked for doctor Horak because he did an amazing job during my upper wisdom teeth extraction and he seemed very confident and experienced. But dr. Hong was confused and felt like she took it personal that I asked for another doctor. Do not go there you'll never know who you'll end up with and it's not any cheaper than other private dental clinics. ☠☠

Dr Clokey does an amazing job and makes you feel very comfortable. They have doctors there to help guide and instruct in making the best decision for your procedure. The office is very clean and the staff is very pleasant. The lady that does the dental cleanings is very gentle and there was no pain in my gums. I highly recommend this office for any procedure you need.

This is without a doubt the most professional dental operation I have ever been to. Dr. Perez and her Medical assitant Carla, along with a third woman who's name I did not get were more than just very professional; they were very caring and compassionate. Dr. Perez was able to diagnose my problem is less than 5 minutes and she was able to perform the procedure the same day. This will be my only choice for dental services from now on!

Was there for my first visit today and because I have needle phobias, I was very nervous. The dentist, Dr. Cox, put me at ease very quickly. Explained everything he was going to do before doing it. Catered to my cowardice. Yes, the initial visit was $140, but it was worth it since he did a full, and I do mean FULL, exam. Yes, they use bite wings and it's a bit uncomfortable, but this is not a deal breaker! My husband had been going there for several months now and the cost of the procedures he's had to have done so far are far less expensive than any other dental office we've been to, even with a Dental plan. Very happy thus far.

After years of horrible dental experiences for my son, we finally have a place that he feels completely comfortable. When you are the parent of a specially abled person finding health care/dental care that you can trust and they can feel comfortable with can be challenging, the staff here goes above and beyond to make us both comfortable with every aspect of his care plan. Thank you for turning trauma into triumph.

Very good at what they do. I had an emergency with a tooth caused my hole face to swell they got me in asap and took out the tooth. They are very professional and would recommend them to anyone reasonably priced for no insurance

Worse place ever be prepared to be in a lot of pain these people do not numb your gums properly at all.... If I was able to give a zero I would. You pay all that money just to sit in a lot of pain with the numbing meds right at the doctor's hand but he won't use it.

I was having a hard time finding an oral surgeon for my son. I took him here, Dr. Scott did the surgery and he did an awesome job! My son said he felt comfortable and wishes Dr. Scott was his PCP.

The Womens at the front desk are always nice but i feel they charge way to much to not even be real dentist . Not to mention i came to get a wisdom tooth pulled and it took them so long to get it out that the numbing wore off and i started to feel anything . They don’t send you out with any antibiotics afterwards just with your mouth leaking .

Tried to schedule an appointment for their "emergency clinic" for a root canal (which they advertise), they don't have any recent openings whatsoever. So they shouldn't advertise the "emergency clinic" aspect. Also their root canals range from $800-$1k which is the same as a private endodontist I went too.

My husband had several teeth extracted over 2 years ago. He has suffered with pain in his gums since that time. He has seen a dentist, a neurologist and an allergist trying to determine the "root" cause of the pain. The last specialist asked him to refer back to this clinic to see what sort of trial he was in, they applied something to the nerves in the gums after extraction (not sure what or why though). We agreed. We are still trying to find out what was used, and if there is anything that can be done to bring relief from the pain. I was impressed by the UF affiliation, a huge mistake.

It's the dentist, what can I say. Personally I don't like going to the dentist. My wife has been coming here for a year or so now she's happy with the dentist and staff.

This place just gives you the run around been calling for the last couple months and every time I get a different answer on when I can make a dental appointment. Then the front desk gets an attitude when you explain to them that you have been hearing different stuff every time you call up there. And pretty much tells me to find somewhere else? SMH What's the point of dental insurance when you still can't be seen??

I have been a customer for 2 years. In that time I have lost even more teeth after exams missed a cavity. Lost that tooth. The repairs I have had done are falling apart. Most recently went in for an earlier than normal exam to avoid any more loss of teeth. During the exam my most recent filling was broken by the doctors poker. I had many questions, while lying on my back. I would prefer an office with a chair. The tech only wanted to go into depth on bridges and or other expensive treatments much down the road. While I'm sitting here with chips of tooth in my mouth. I have been calling to no avail. No answer. No response to my voice-mail. Now I must walk into the clinic and be treated like a poorly in front of others at the entry window.

Dr porter was amazing, quick and clean! very clean and professional place. also they are very quick, I wasn’t in waiting room more then 5 minutes any time I’ve ever been. I originally went in as an emergency patient and will be going back as a regular patient. Thankful they are so efficient and great at what they do. Thank you Dr. porter for taking my pain away! Also your assistant was so kind and sweet. You guys work well together, great energy here!

This place is wonderful I can’t say enough! I’m in the medical field as well and they are so efficient , kind, clean, helpful. I called to get a tooth looked at that was super painful, went right back met the dr. We talked, they took some X-rays and explained them to me. Very considerate!!! They rescheduled me right away once the antibiotics take their course!! So happy I went here and caught it just in time!!!! Again I cannot say enough I went here when I was younger as well to have a molar extracted and it was nothing but kind people.
