This is my boyfriends fav restaurant serving authentic Mexican street fare and a unique selection of over tequilas and bourbons. The food is simple, the service is warm, and the atmosphere is alive. However, I do think the tacos are overpriced and not that great. They are flavorful, but small and something you will not fill up on unless you eat 3-4. You can start with fresh guacamole and chips. I would recommend this place for good drinks and good vibe.

We had an amazing anniversary lunch at Bakersfield! We came here after we got engaged & now it's our tradition to revisit each year to celebrate. Always great service & food! Our waitress, Naomy, was super sweet & amazing! Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The season margaritas, cucumber, was very good & refreshing!

My boyfriend and I visited Bakersfield yesterday for the first time. I had a delicious pineapple margarita (that I could not finish by myself, due to being a lightweight lol). I also ordered the al pastor, huitlacoche, and pollo verde tacos. He ordered the pollo verde, pollo diablo, and short rib tacos. We also shared some esquites. Everything was delicious!😍 If I had to pick my favorite taco it would be the huitlacoche taco. It would be the taco I can't pronounce.🤣 My only suggestion is that I would have preferred the esquites hot. It was still good though. Overall I really liked this place and would definitely go again. 5/5 ⭐s

For the longest time, I was a loyal customer of Bakersfield - I've been to this restaurant more than 20 times in the last two years. My favorite part of the experience is always their amazing margaritas - specifically, the house and pineapple margaritas, both of which are fantastic. I also love their chips and salsa, with rojo and verde salsas that are full of amazing flavor. When it comes to the tacos, I always go for the Huitlacoche, which is made with corn truffle, roasted poblano, corn, onion, cotija cheese, and cilantro. I also love the Hongos taco, which features portabello, poblano, bell pepper, buttermilk kale slaw, and cotija cheese. Both flavors are great and the overall flavor profile is memorable. However, during my many visits, I've noticed that the quality of the food can vary from visit to visit. While there were times when the food quality was exceptional, there were other times when it felt like they were using ingredients that weren't fresh. On my last visit, my friend found an insect in their food. Although the restaurant apologized and took care of our bill, they claimed that the insect must have come from outside. However, the insect was found in the filling of the chicken bread/sandwich (can't recall the exact name of the dish), so it seems likely that it came from the kitchen. Despite this incident, I still have great memories of Bakersfield. The servers are friendly and flexible, and the margaritas and tacos are fantastic. However, the inconsistency in food quality is a concern, and the insect incident has made me hesitant to return.

Bakersfield is a new take on tacos. I was underwhelmed with the food, but my server was kind and extremely attentive. Now that pineapple drink with tajin was a winner-winner. Absolutely delish

Went to this restaurant tonight after the Colts win over the Chiefs (Hurray) - anyway back to this nice restaurant on Mass Avenue. It wasn’t to crowded tonight. Nice place good food (not a wide variety but that is ok). Our server was very nice and knowledgeable. We ordered a couple of margarita’s. I had their special Mai Tai Margarita (good but on the sweeter side) and my wife had their Pineapple Margarita. They were both tasty. My son ordered their Carnitas Taquitos that had an enchilada sauce over them (he said they were good). My wife ordered 2 tacos (Chorizo and potato and also a fish taco). We shared their 1/2 Willie Salad (Good Salad with plenty of flavor) and I also has a Short Rib Taco (pretty good). Nice place good food.

Our team had a dinner outing and it was a great choice. Bakersfield was excellent for a fun and energetic atmosphere with efficient and friendly staff. We were able to talk, laugh, and have a good time sharing stories over chips and guacamole, salsa, and finally some very delicious tacos. I had 3 tacos which were sufficient and satisfying. The Baja Shrimp were my favorite because of the tasty and crunchy shrimp. I did have a pollo verde taco which was good as well. I highly recommend the tacos and visiting for an intimate small couple outing or a larger group. Thanks Bakersfield.

Love the atmosphere! Sat outside and it’s a cool vibe. The waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable and warned me about the heat of the Pollo Diablo taco yet we were up for the challenge. Did not disappoint! Washed it down with a spicy pineapple margarita and some mildness from the fresh guacamole and the pollo verde and carnitas tacos… I have had street tacos in various authentic locations and I would definitely recommend Bakersfield for tacos in Indy! Thanks for giving us a great all-around experience on this Sunday afternoon!

Usually eat at taco truck but decided to try something different and I was a bit disappointed by the outcome. First, we got there and was not able to sit where we would like to sit. Next, the food were not so great. The chicken taquitos were very dry to taste and the chicken had a weirdly smell. My Baja shrimp were not fried as I was expected. And the street corn also did not taste the best. Although, I recommend getting the carnitas tacos, my friend said those were great to taste. I was not so delighted by the food. I would recommend they have better topping portion too such as the spicy sauces. But overall great customer service and vibe. Many might enjoy this place but this is just my honest review. Enjoy folks :)

Chelsea P is the greatest. Best bartender I’ve ever had. She’s been there a few years and I swear never changes never seems stressed just does it all and with a smile. 10/10 sit at the bar to get the best service with Chelsea

The food was very good, and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect at Mass Ave. went on my lunch break and had very quick service. The tacos are delicious, but are fairly small. A bit smaller than typical street tacos. Highly recommend at least three.

Used to go here a lot but quality has rapidly declined. This was the amount of fish on my "fish taco" that cost 5.63 before delivery. Can't justify it anymore.

Went to Bakersfield for Father’s Day. My boyfriend ordered a Miller High Life and our server brought this to the table without saying anything. My stepmom is gluten free, and when the server brought us the gluten free menu she explained that they were out of all of the gluten free options. Cool. She also admitted to us that all of their food is frozen. Yum! The tacos were mid, didn’t know they even made tortillas that small. Thankfully I’ll never go hungry again since they sent us home with a family sized sack of tortilla chips to go with my $8 side of guacamole

Delicious tacos what more can you say. I enjoy the Al pastor. They are quick with food and have a selection of fresh margaritas.

Great tacos there. Pineapple margaritas were very good.. They have very tight seating, but it works for the space. The atmosphere was dim and cozy. I will definitely be back here..

Normally have a very good experience here, however this time I didn’t! Our waiter who I did not grab her name( red head with glasses) was extremely over the top nice but in a passive aggressive way rather than showing genuine kindness! Secondly, I was there for 35 -45 minutes on a Tuesday, my check was brought to me in the middle of my date, without asking if we were ready forcing us to get up and go when we wanted to order food because at that point we had only had drinks. I was catching up with a friend and planned to tip extremely well for the time I spent there! I’ll definitely still go back, id never have her as a server again though.

I’ve been to Bakersfield over 100 times and have never had a bad experience here. The food comes out quick, and is always tasty. The drinks are good and staff is always friendly. This time we were so lucky to be able to have Sunshine as our server. She went above and beyond for us. I told her that I was no longer drinking alcohol and she went above and beyond to get me a customized N/A Margarita. She was very sweet and made me feel “at home”. I will definitely be back and ask to sit in her section. 10/10 would recommend.

They also have some delicious craft cocktails and specialty margaritas that complement every bite. This was one of our FAVORITE places that we visited during Gencon. The food was amazing, we were seated immediately, and dined like kings the entire time. Shoutout to Sunshine, who was not only a fantastic waitress but also made a ton of great recommendations for us. Would highly recommend any of the tacos, the Bakersfield Sour, and the pineapple margarita.

Went there for a dbl date couples night... our friends we were with recommended it we walked there from pin mechanics. It was cool outside we had a 45 min wait while waiting our friend ordered the 🍍 margaritas 🍹 I don't drink so I can't too much review it myself but taking it from them & my fiancé I guess you can say that's one of the places that serves the best 🍍 margaritas. We went inside the atmosphere was coo, it was a little hot & stuffy so I asked if they could open the window we were sitting by & they did even the host said "it feels the same out there as it does in here" we all laughed at it but it brought a nice cool breeze thru. Food came out fast I ordered the chicken taquitos they were decent, didn't care too much for the sauce, but it was still really good. I ordered the esquites the corn salad & I was a little disappointed in that, I didn't like the flavor too much but they were nice enough to take it off... we also ordered the full queso dip w the braised short ribs(BEEF) I can say that there queso dip with and without the beef was really good! Everyone got different tacos and nobody complained about it so i take it they were good. Would suggest ordering more than one since they are small. But it is a place I would recommend & revisit.

Great spot for a margarita and tacos. The pineapple margarita was delicious and strong, and the tacos had a ton of flavor. I suggest ordering at least two if you’re hungry. Maybe even order the queso which comes out steaming hot.

Great selection of cocktails and very affordable considering the quality you’re getting. Vibrant atmosphere and our server Rokey is an absolutely amazing server. He made us tasty cocktails and keep us entertained. Will definitely come back soon.

Shout out to bartender Joe, waitress Rachel, and host Laura for awesome service!! First time here and everyone was so nice. Rachel did a great job explaining the menu to us newbies. We had a pitcher of the seasonal margarita (lemon mint) which was very satisfying.
