It's Real good! Stopped in for dinner before heading to the hotel and was not disappointed. The decor and atmosphere are great! Our food came in a timely manner The staff were friendly and super helpful. The ribs were fine to perfection! I would highly suggest stopping in if you're ever in the area!

Stopped here on our way through Indiana specifically for the breaded tenderloin sandwich. It was very good! The first sandwich they brought me (pic) had excess breading that fell off as soon as I went to cut it in half. And the tenderloin part itself was no larger than the bun. I did ask for a new one which the lovely waitress was more than happy to do. The 2nd one came out much better. Nice crunchy breading, tenderloin was just the right thickness, juicy and tender. The bun was excellent as well, fresh and soft. I got the sweet potato fries which were very good. Only complaint I have is the restrooms were in dire need of a good cleaning! They were disgusting.

Hands down the best food, service, and ambiance we could ever have hoped for. We were all set to order our usual fare, but Miss Taylor recommended the pork tenderloin, and we decided to trust her recommendation. Wow! I had a feeling it was going to be good, but I had no idea it was going to be legendary! We ordered the country tenderloin plate; I had mashed potatoes, and my husband Joe had a baked potato. We both had green beans. The flavor, texture, and temperature were perfect! I asked for extra lemon wedges and a side of thousand island dressing, which made my tenderloin tasty and tangy. Joe ordered apple strudel for dessert, and I wanted to try the sugar cream pie. Best dessert ever! I just got an excellent job offer, so we're going to be moving from South Florida to South Bend, Indiana on July 1st, and we now have a new favorite dinner. Miss Taylor was so friendly and fun to talk to, and Mitchell also made us feel right at home. We're going to wake up extra early on the day of our flight home so we can have lunch here and order our new favorite dish. 5 stars overall, but only because there's no such thing as 6.

Have eaten here twice the past two weeks - their tenderloin sandwich is outstanding! It's described as "premium center cut, hand-breaded or grilled, freshly baked bun". The bartender is very welcoming - just a great atmosphere! We plan to go back and possibly try other items, but the tenderloin is hard to beat!

We’ve lived half a mile from Grindstone Charley’s for 10 years. We used to dine in and carry out frequently. This past year it has gone so downhill. I don’t know if it’s the GM, kitchen staff, or bad training. We’ve rarely had successfully carry out experiences. It started as mainly just forgotten items/items coming out wrong. Lately it’s been all of that and badly cooked food. Complaints are met with either arguments or a so what attitude. When we called corporate after a particularly awful experience they were very apologetic and mailed us a gift card. Today was the last straw. I always order the French onion soup, pretty much the only reason we order from here. The picture attached is the Swiss cheese. Cold. And obviously not melted. The broth was cold. I don’t know how it passed the cooks hands to expo to carryout without someone noticing. My son’s Alfredo penne was ice cold along with the mashed potatoes. We didn’t want to give up on this place. It used to be amazing. Great service, hot and fresh quality food. We know that mistakes happen but this is almost constant. I really hope they reevaluate their establishment and get to the root of the issues or they’re going to lose more long term customers.

Food was really good. The fries were perfect - crispy outside, fluffy inside. The club melt was delicious. Great onion rings. Those who had steaks really enjoyed them. Bread pudding was fabulous.

The fried green tomatoes are so good! I had the three cheese chicken penne and husband had the chicken and noodles. They both were ok. Not bad, but we've had better. Waitress was nice.

My husband took me to G.C. Tonight and we had the greatest experience. We were immediately seated and were assisted with our drinks and orders straight away! We had Taneika as our server and she took great care of us the entire time. We did not have to ask for anything! The food was brought out so fast and everything was perfect. We both had steaks medium rare and they were PERFECT 🤩. We will definitely be returning there time and time again!

Returned to Grindstone Charlie’s to celebrate Mother’s Day and once again they delivered! The food was amazing and our server Logan was awesome! So attentive and polite. The finishing touch was the servers handing out stemmed flowers to the lady patrons for the occasion. Definitely one of our favorite places! This review was from a few months ago: Celebrating my mom’s 81st birthday; our third year in a row with Grindstone Charlie’s. Everything was great, as always. Server was busy, but very attentive and the food was served in a timely manner and was very good. Always looking forward to visiting here!

Unfortunately it looks much better than it tastes. somehow this wasn’t even done right. It’s tough and overcooked. Taste processed. Has no seasonings or flavor what so ever. The cheese is melted but still solid. It’s a no for me to ever get again

UPDATE: The second time around I will say grindstone Charlie's stepped up their game in a massive way. Contrary to the first experience I had. The manager Rob, the waitress Ari made this a far better experience. The waitress was attentive and friendly, she was polite and quick to respond without issue never had to wonder if I was going to get checked on. She was so amazing and made the entire night worth the second chance. She most certainly deserves admiration and a raise. The chef made the food amazing no issue with any of the food. The appetizer was fried pickles and they were perfect this time and not greasy. The steaks were a spectacular and beautiful rosy pink. I will say I was unsure how this was going to go but, I'm glad I gave this place a second chance. I tried to get a picture of Rob and Ari but my phone didn't save the picture sadly. But I promise you this you will enjoy your experience they have improved from my last visit in a massive way!!!

This is a nice little spot. It has a warm, family comfort sort of vibe. The food is great, although you will probably have a food coma afterward (it's a good thing). I got the smothered chicken. It was delicious. The portion was huge. Service was quick and friendly. I've come here multiple times since, and it has never disappointed.

It wasn’t awful. Lots of older people. I got a 6 OZ. (Well done) and it was very rubbery. The fries might be my all time favorite fries though and the salad was great! My friend ordered mashed potatoes which were almost inedible they were so bad. But the first plate of them she got were amazing? Took us around 50 minutes to get our food. Drinks were very sweet. Wouldn’t recommend but wouldn’t complain.

So this place looks very run down on the outside and very outdated when u come in and sit, our booth wasn’t top notch BUT the food and drinks were AMAZING we got the fried pickles, the pretzels, penne pasta with broccoli and bomb pop drinks. Very very good and our waitress was very vigilant and nice. Loved her souther accent. We’re only in for the weekend from Chicago for slamology so we’re hoping to make it back in after 9 tomorrow for half price apps.

Great experience! Mark greeted us when we walked in and he was very friendly and helpful. He immediately ran to get us our first round of drinks, even though he wasn't our server. He is obviously a great team player and we really appreciated his service. Troy was our actual server and he was amazing too! Our service was quick and fantastic throughout, and the food+drinks were good too. Thanks for the great visit!

A very nice cozy restaurant. Their fried green tomatoes and French onion soup are amazing. Our server was also very considerate to wait for us to dig in our appetizers and salads for a while before she put in our entree orders so the entree came at a proper time. For the entree we had the prime rib and grilled ribs. Both are up to par and at a decent price.

Grindstone Charley's is one of my favorite places to eat! This time we got the Potato Skins as an appetizer. I got a Salmon Caesar Salad with a side cup of Loaded Potato Soup. My daughter got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with a side of fries and a cup of Chili. I got a Strawberry Daquiri

  • 1/5 Emilio L. 1 year ago on Google
They have the audacity to charge $13 for this “buffalo chicken sandwich. No pickles, and only half of the breast was “buffalo”. Not to mention the fries were soggy and old. First and last time ordering from this place

I decided to eat here because I pass it up daily and there's always a full parking lot. I got stuffed mushrooms, cube steak special and a margarita. The mushrooms were delicious and margarita was good. Food presentation was great but the cube steak was questionable. The meat fell apart and looks like spam once you cut it. It squished in your mouth almost like pâté. I've cooked cube steak several different ways and never had it like this. I ended up eating only the potatoes and green beans. The waitress was really nice. Not sure if I'll go back.
