The food is so good here ! The owner, Rob, is almost always there and is very personable and will cater to his customers wants and needs !! We ordered the fried pizza rolls with a side of garlic parmesean, the eggrolls, a burger cooked to perfection and the waffle fries with fall apart buttery brisket and garlic parmesean added to them. It was all super fresh and really good !! The drinks are also pretty strong and priced decently. We will def return !!

Fun little stop before hitting up A local restaurant. Felt very welcome in this little bar. Definitely a must stop in place.

This is our tradition after every monster jam to come here and feel at home in a bit city, it has a comfy atmosphere and down right amazing food. It's not just bar food oh no it's quality restaurant food, the drinks are always perfectly mixed and the bartender is always smiling and happy to see new faces. If you are looking for a comfortable place to get a bite to eat, or a nice cold beer you have found that place my friend.

Went in with little expectations and left wowed by the customer service and quality of grub. I ordered the pineapple cream cheese burger but the bartender erroneously entered the mango salsa burger. They just gave me both! And both were delicious! The waffle fries were among the best I've ever had. The adult grilled cheese my wife had was superb! They really were super apologetic about the mix up but I couldn't have been happier! Or more full... Definitely go.

Friendly bar staff, patrons were welcoming. Prices seemed on the high side, even for a downtown bar. Food menu looked almost too good, smelled delicious too. Food portions look to be on the larger size.

This is a fantastic dive bar right near the stadium. My son and I go here every year after an event at the stadium. They actually have upped their food menu in the last few years. Duck empanada was like a crab Rangoon. Their wings were really good. Ashley, the bartender was a blast.

Went to The Whistle Stop last night for a quick dinner before going to a concert at White River. Our server was a cutie, and gave us great recommendations. We split the brisket fries and were so impressed with them! — 1) The waffle fries weren’t soggy at all, nice and crispy. 2) The brisket was super fresh and really tender. 3) The melted cheese was actual shredded cheese instead of that weird, runny cheese liquid some restaurants use. It included jalapeños, ranch dressing and bbq sauce …. We had those put on the side. The app was so good, I didn’t even use them! The pork sandwich was very good. The pork wasn’t actually smoked, but was really tender and tasty. They hand-pattied Burger was also excellent. Being an IPA lover, wish they had more than just Zombie Dust and Gumball Head, but not that big a deal. We’ll definitely be going back!!!!!

We came for the first time… My wife ordered the Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings while I ordered the Pizza Bites… One would think that these are “simple finger foods” - but they were BOTH out of this world! My wife says these were some of the BEST wings she’s ever had! My pizza bites were fantastic! We will definitely come back again and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Came here for some late night snacks and drinks with some old friends while attending a conference. It surprised us that many bars in Indianapolis closes at 10 or 10:30 p.m. not this place! We ordered some jelly chicken wings with bourbon glaze (highly recommended by the waitress). They were quite tasty! This place also offers duck wings which were very unique. I would have tried them if I had room in my stomach 😅 The beer selection was descent. Coming from the west coast, the IPA selection was a bit lacking in my opinion. Overall we really like this place and would come back again if I were in town.

Small place with surprising food. We went during a convention and we were able to get a table immediately. Though I believe there were only 3 people working (2 in the kitchen and 1 running the bar and seated area) they did a great job of providing service and getting food out. We were truly surprised by the Duck Empanadas they were very good. Look to come back and bring my wife, but would probably avoid during a colts game unless you want that energy being only a block from Lucas oil stadium I imagine they get very busy.

Good location as it's 2 blocks from Lucas Oil Stadium! An average dive bar with a good beer selection and great bartenders. Way too many violent homeless in this area though, so use caution when walking late at night around here!

My husband and I are visiting from Champaign, IL and are staying at a close by hotel. We wanted to check out a local bar with good eats and found this one was well recommended. Abby was our server and was very friendly and fun to visit with. Our food -we partook of the Brisket Basket- was sensational! The blend of ingredients was savory, and the perfect blend of salty, sweet and spicy. And no nucleus friends! Even spread throughout. Blow the whistle when you leave for an extra special treat. 😜 Well done Whistlestop. Be back again!

After hearing about this place from a local radio personality and seeing it on the news, we decided to give it a try. The food was sooooo good. Nice place to come chill and have a few drinks. Watched a little bit of the Monday night football game and called it a night. Will make this place as one of my downtown destinations.

We saw the owner being interviewed on the news yesterday morning. NRA members are usually not rowdy, but some of us can appreciate great food (best pork tenderloin I have ever had!), perfect cocktails (manhatten-perfect cherry), phenominal service (thank you Abby!), and a welcoming atmosphere! This will be a future favorite. Thank you!

This place is a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much when you walk in, and that's exactly the vibe they're going for. The food was great. They have a huge selection of alcohol. They've got some great signature drinks to choose from. Lots of beer choices too. We hit on karaoke night too. A constant stream of regulars singing on the mic. Some definite hidden talents among them. Really enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

Food was fresh!!! Not a complaint from anyone in our party. Great selection of quality spirits. The staff was good. The owner was great and the food was better. Most definitely a must try. We will be back

My favorite bar downtown. The warmest service and the best food, with one of the most exciting whiskey and tequila selections in the city. I’m at whistle stop as often as they’ll have me.

Great food. But the building and decor do not match the environment the website portrayed. Bartender was also our server and he was very polite and considerate. Food presentation was fancy! Stupid that there's no free parking.

If you're looking for a place that's kind of a dive bar this is your spot. We came out from Philadelphia for the Colts game and we found this place and we're very happy with it the food was decent and the beer was cold. Only a couple blocks from our hotel. Would definitely recommend it.

Friday night we ate at the Whistle Stop in Indianapolis, it was everything everyone said. Christy was our server and bartender, drinks were great, service was amazing. The own was in the kitchen and came out twice to see how we liked the food and apologize for the wings. As they were smaller than normal (supply chain). Highly recommend the following, pizza rolls in parmesan garlic, home made tater tots, and we liked the wings crispy but juice! Thank you we will be back.

I was in here late one night while at GenCon. I'm dying to know what you all put on those pizza rolls. Like it says, this is a dive bar, and the best kind. It has awesome bar food. My buddy and I got a couple beers and some appetizers. The pizza rolls blew my mind. They zhoosh them up somehow, and I'd kill for that secret. It was also great because they were the only place open that late to get something.

I've been wanting to try this place out, I see their posts on Facebook and the food looked good. I had the pulled pork sandwich and waffle fries, my son had the brisket burger and waffle fries, I can honestly say, the food was fire 🔥. Service was good, this is a nice downtown establishment and I'll be back.
