The Upstairs Pub is a college-town bar. The patio overlooks the main drag. Very cool to sit on the patio and drink a cool one. The night I was here, tap beers were $3 and Coronas were $2. This is a cool place if you want a vibrant atmosphere. The downside is service. Took 20 min to get a round. My friend had to modify her t-shirt just to get noticed by the bartender.

Classic Bloomington bar. Great place to watch the game, with lots of tv’s with all the games on and multiple bars to sit at. Bar tenders are always very friendly and the service is great along with very reasonable drink specials. Their menu is what I would consider “bar food” but is still very good and usually comes out quick. This place always has the potential to get packed but there’s a lot of seating (indoor and outdoor) and the atmosphere is top notch. Highly recommend if your trying to watch the Hoosiers or colts

Great place for cheap drinks! They ran a special the Thursday we visited - $3 liquor drinks! Wow! I'm so glad we had a DD! Odd decor tho. Definitely a college bar!

Visiting the Library inside upstairs was a great experience! The drinks were delicious and the bar staff was knowledgeable. It was exciting to dress up and sneak away from the overcrowded bar at upstairs and into a more relaxed (yet fancy) environment. A gem for GNO or date night!

No cover! Gets crowded, so getting your drinks takes time. Great bar atmosphere and you can't beat the rooftop section. Definitely worth the visit next time you're visiting Btown.

Popped into The Upstairs Pub while me and my partner were in town, and while we were well aware it would be a college bar, we weren't expecting as poor of an experience as the one we had. Bartenders were rude and poured badly, foam and beer still pouring over the sides of the glass even as it was set on the bar in front of us. Then our bartender informs us in detail on how much he dislikes serving beer. The drinks were shockingly cheap though, which was nice and may be the only reason I'd give this three stars. I can see this being a decent bar to get rowdy with your buds. There was plenty of room, and the crowd seemed to be having a decent time. Atmosphere was fine but nothing to write home about, but the titular "stairs" to get up to the bar were incredibly steep and short. I know that sounds weird, but it was actually the most noteworthy thing there. I can't imagine being a little buzzed and trying to maneuver my way up/down those steps reliably.

Definitely a fan of the Bartender! He knew the history of the joint, they have good food specials. I will be back just because of the service.

Fair to mediocre at best. Permanent sour beer / fraternity party room smell is a huge turn off. Good selection of beers though and the food is serviceable.

Great bar for college students and older patrons alike. They have a surprisingly good food menu, darts, and a pool table. When it gets busy it gets really really busy.

One of the best bars in Bloomington! They have a lot of sitting space right in the center of Kirkwood. They also have darts, pool, and a basketball game you can pay for. Very lively with occasional karaoke nights. Drinks are standard college town fare. Overall a Bloomington classic.

Visited The Library - upstairs' speakeasy. Pretty cool space for a low key vibe - not too loud, but not dead either. Good energy in general. Drinks were great with a comprehensive menu with a lot of options. Friendly and knowledgeable staff/bartenders to help you select a delicious drink.

The bar was quite lively and had a good ambience. The drinks were quite cheaper than I expected and had a great time. It was a disappointment that no food was served else it would have been a blast!! Would likely visit again if I have the time!!✌️

A solid late night destination. Good drink deals, friendly bartenders, mostly good music. Sometimes too loud for my taste, especially on a busy night, but that's a plus for a lot of people so I won't take a star off.

Upstairs has really changed since my undergrad years. They’ve expanded their outdoor seating into what used to be Dunkirk so their outdoor space is really nice. I ordered an AMF and their stuffed tater tots and it was $14. I’m honestly not sure if those prices are cheap or not anymore but the AMF was good. The tater tots were stuffed so you only got 7, I was expecting more and they looked a little sad when they came out. Overall I like upstairs as a hang out place but it’s not necessarily anything to write home about.

Day shift bartenders are great. Drinks are cheap on Tuesdays. That's about it.

This is our go-to end bar. We know we can end the night here with friendly bartenders, who really make sure that everyone stays safe. I personally saw a bartender return 3 people’s wallets because they’d left them on a chair or the bar, and you can tell the staff really want people to have a fun, Safe time. Probably one of my favorite bars in Bloomington.

The bathrooms were way too small. The drinks are horrible. They could use a mixologist to teach them proper pours. The open air atmosphere is awesome though. Reason they got the 3☆

The AMF's are great! Be careful though, they sneak up on you. You cant taste the alcohol at all, but you can feel it. Super fun time and great crowd. Would love to visit again!

My favorite bar to go to in Bloomington. Drew is outstanding to sit down and chat with, however his taste in music is a little questionable (o-town, 98 degrees, and BSB) always seem to be on the juke box. Stop in and have a drink and enjoy the atmosphere. They have pool and darts if you are looking for a little friendly rivalry. Also, be sure Drew knows that Pit no long has the big three!!
