I finally made it to Taste of Havana's new location on Michigan Road. I was bummed they moved out of the neighborhood as I moved back in, but it's still closer for me now to than it used to be and always worth it. When they say "be still my heart..." they meant this coffee. It's jet fuel. Seriously one of my favorite things on the planet to practice moderation with. You'd have to drive a good long time to get anything like it. The new location is also better for listening to the house music. It's pretty easy to understand even if you don't speak the language. Total attitude changer if you a sporting one and the food tastes even better for it. The owner, Jorge, is the DNA of the experience and obviously enjoys sharing it with you. Can't help but smile when he is doing his thing. If you have not been here yet, you must absolutely try it out. If you have, it's probably time to come back.

This is a great little restaurant that has a good size menu of Cuban food. You can get it to carry out or dine it. The owner was also serving the food and made sure it was made perfect. The size of the dishes were all pretty large and price fair for what you get. It’s the best food around. They have more then sandwiches and some vegetarian dishes as well. You will leave happy and full.

The food, service, and atmosphere here are terrific. My wife and I are in town for the day. We were looking for something authentic and outside of our everyday norm. I'm so happy we ended up here at the Taste of Havana! I had the Smothered Chicken Samich and she had Pollo en Plancha platter. We were not disappointed!

It's a nice small place right on the street. They have bar seating so you can look at the cars as they drive by. They play Latin music which is enjoyable and fits the theme. There were some problems with getting the food to the right people and the manager yelled at one of the employees in front of the whole restaurant when the employee ended up being right. Once we got the food though.. The sandwiches were really good. I tried the turkey Cuban so I don't know how the normal one compares. The soup pictured was good as well. I'd recommend this place for the food..Just hope everyone is having a good day.

This place had a fun authentic feel even just as you walk in. Got some traditional Cuban sandwiches and guava cream cheese pastries. So incredible. Owner and staff super friendly and helpful. Food was right out so speedy and bundled up all nice for me. The sandwich, great flaky roll, ham was fantastic. Regular size was very filling. Such a great sandwich. The pastries were amazing as well. Guava filling was fantastic, fresh , perfectly balanced with cream cheese in between flaky layers of amazingness. Will definitely be back.

Sorry for the lack of photos, when that food comes to the table it’s chow time😂 This place is amazing, staff is super friendly, food is AMAZING to say the least. I got their pork platter, the pork was so tender and juicy I could cut it with a plastic fork. My Girlfriend got The Cuban, was nothing short of amazing. Portions are large, food is hot, I HIGHLY recommend this place!

My husband, son and I were making the drive from Cincinnati to Chicago and found this gem for a lunch stop on the way. We had such a wonderful experience and really can’t say enough good things! The owner was so friendly and welcoming, and the food was incredible. The food was EXCELLENT. My husband & I loved the Cuban, and we are pretty tough critics of Cuban sandwiches. Our toddler couldn’t get enough of the plantains (they were delicious, as were the beans & rice). They even include an after lunch espresso, which was just an added bonus. This tired mom needed it and what a perfect pick-me-up for the rest of our trip. My only complaint is that there isn’t a location closer to where we live- but at least we now know what our regular stop will be whenever we make this trip on the future!

Absolutely amazing! Having grown up eating at Cuban restaurants all over Miami, and Tampa Florida. This place is spot on!! You really couldn't find a better or more authentic Cuban restaurant if you traveled to Miami or Tampa. Give it a try, it's worth the visit!

Taste of Havana is a small, family-own Cuban restaurant serving authentic Cuban food in a vibrant, visually appealing space. I ordered the lunch chicken bowl and it was savory and well seasoned and the portion size was large. My friend ordered a cuban sandwich which made his top 10 sandwich list! The prices were also unbeatable. This would make an amazing, regular lunch spot. Interior features a few tables for seating. Walls and tables are all bright colors, which cheers me up and I love.
