We went to Vida's to celebrate two birthdays and had a wonderful time. The chef was thoughtful and executed every course beautifuly. All of the minute details makes a huge difference in his meals. Our server Mandy was very knowledgeable and was very sweet. The manager even came by and spoke with us and showed us a picture of his daughter. We had the six course meal, with wine, cocktails, and an extra dessert. Make sure you have 3 plus hours to dine, they do not rush through your dining experience.

Wonderful dinner (4-course variant) Nice selection of choices within each of the four courses Preparation/execution was top-notch. Aromas vibrant and distinctive on every course. Quite generous portions Tartare was flavorful and tender Fried chicken thigh was crispy and juicy Ribeye slices were tender, wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked Doughnuts were light, fluffy and wonderfully sauced Bottled wine selection is extensive but pricey - hard to find bottles under $120. Wines by the glass, however, are very nice and much more affordable. The seasonal cocktail specials were outstanding Server was friendly, efficient and informed. Lovely atmosphere Overall, an outstanding experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Our first time dining here and it was amazing. We tried both the fixed menu with wine pairing and the 4 course menu, so we got to try just about everything. Food and service were impeccable. Highly recommend!

The food as always, was beyond amazing. We come each season and try the new masterpiece works of food art. Tonight our server was Thomas and he went beyond previous visits. I am very happy to have had Thomas and really enjoyed this well preformed service. Thomas provided the perfect balance of check in to see what we might need with our happiness in food choice, without being excessive or over bearing. I hope we can have the pleasure of his service on our next visit.

Incredible! Here we go again on a journey of new experiences. Tonight was Vida. It started of with the maitre d coming and welcoming us to Vida. Then the waiter was exceptionally knowledgeable about the different course ingredients and phenomenal knowledge about all the different types of drinks. I truly was impressed with his knowledge. We were seated at the front corner table which gave us an unobstructed view. The courses come either in one at a time in a set of four or a set of six. We chose four. After having left and sitting at home giving this review I can honestly say I'm fully sated. It is not overly pricy but it does have some expense. All alcohol is top shelf. One bottle was $2500. About $175 per shot. So be wary of ordering before knowing your prices. The courses all had a taste of excellence. A hint of this and a hint of that. I do recommend sometime stopping in and giving Vida a go. FYI, you may need a reservation.

Our foodie group has always recommended, Vida. Tonight, we went. First of all, this place is gorgeous! The ambience is amazing. Elegant, modern, sleek, but inviting. The tasting menu was awesome! My wife ordered different things and shared the dishes. The chef gave us amazing surprise pastries right at the beginning. Delicious! Our first course was Bluefin Tuna and Caramelized Cauliflower. Delicious! Second course was Buttermilk Fried Chicken Thigh and Scallop. This was incredible! Third course was Black Angus Ribeye and Lamb Loin! Wow! There’s no words for how awesome this was. I love lamb and this was so delicious! Look, the last course was desert but this shouldn’t be called desert. This was eatable art! Absolutely delectable! You MUST try the Ricotta Donuts! And the Meyer Lemon was so light and refreshing. Delicious! The main star of this restaurant was the staff. Daniel was our server and he is so friendly and knowledgeable. He made this visit memorable. We also spoke to Chef Thomas Melvin and because of my allergies, he helped me enjoy dining here without any fear of cross contamination. Highly recommended, worth every cent!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed dining at Vida for my birthday dinner. Not a single thing we didn’t like. Our waiter, Tim, was super personable, took his time explaining the menu items to us, and even shared little stories about his life and the restaurant itself. It is a great spot for special occasions. Expect to spend a pretty penny, but the food and cocktails are to die for and the ambiance is stellar. No deafening noise or music drowning out conversations. The four course option was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had.

Overall, Vida did an exceptional job. It was my first time trying many of these foods in general, and while some of it wasn't my cup of tea, there's no denying that they were the best representations of these dishes. Just a matter of personal taste. The ricotta doughnuts were definitely my favorite dish. Service was second to none. My partner LOVED her food, so we will definitely be returning in the future. At the end of the day, if you want an upscale restaurant experience in Indy, Vida is the place to go.

So delicious and unique! So many high end restaurants in Indy are your typical steakhouse type places, this is so much more creative. The staff is so personable and it’s very clear everyone there is passionate about their work.

We came to Vida to celebrate our anniversary; the reservation times available were 9:00 and later, so we almost opted out, but I am so glad we didn’t. It was one of the absolute best dining experiences of our lives. From amuse bouché to dessert, each course kept getting more and more delicious, and our cocktails were amazing. Our server, Thomas, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, guided us expertly and his excitement about the food he was serving elevated our own. He made it feel like we were dining with a friend. We already can’t wait to come back!

Without a doubt some of the best eating to be had in Indy. Dishes were creative and perfectly executed. While it's otherwise impossible to pick favorites, the hot ricotta doughnuts (not pictured) should not be missed under any circumstances.

The service was impeccable. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. We were educated on the available options in detail. We opted for the chef's tasting menu. Each course was excellent, but continued to increase in flavor complexity. I want to thank Jesse for providing an extra special gift for my partner on her birthday. Our experience was quite memorable. We will certainly return for another wonderful evening.

The food here is delicious. Reservations are definitely recommended. It is a very busy place. Most restaurants just have 1-2 vegetarian dishes, so I was pleasantly surprised that they had an entire vegetarian tasting menu. That is so rare to find. The 6 course tasting takes about a couple hours and the dishes are very inventive. The service is pretty good as well. The experience could be so much better if there was a vegetarian protein source and the portion sizes were larger to better match the price of the tasting menu. You could alternatively include the wines in the base price to elevate the experience. Overall a good place to go for a special occasion. EDIT: Updating to 5 Stars. We visited the restaurant again after a year and loved the fact that Vida incorporated all my suggestions. The dishes did not repeat any vegetables, they included a vegan protein source in Tofu and the portion sizes were also larger. 100% recommended for a special occasion especially for Vegetarians.

Probably the best meal and experience I’ve ever had in Indianapolis. The presentation was gorgeous, the variety of flavors were unique and tasty, and the staff very attentive and lovely. They made my 40th birthday celebration very memorable.

This restaurant is THE BEST I have EVER had!! This fine dining establishment is the only 4 diamond restaurant in Indiana. It pleases your palate with so many rich, delicate, and unique flavors. The wait staff are impeccable, the servers never let your water get half full, the alcoholic beverages are top notch and the entire experience is unforgettable. The attire business casual here! This would be great for couples, families exposing their children to fine dining, work or social gatherings, and celebrations! Treat yourself to this divine hidden jewel!!!

Vida is the best restaurant in Indy. It's really expensive, but you pay for the great quality. Every dish is cultivated to maximize it's flavor. If you have an advanced palate I really think you will appreciate the creativity of each dish. The service is always great. Nick is a phenomenal server. And I truly believe you will have a great experience here.

This is touted as one of the best if not the best restaurant in Indy. Reservations backed up for months would seem to align with this statement. We love Cunningham Group and have never been disappointed. Provision has been our #1 Indy spot for a few years now, and only other Cunningham restaurants have come even close... until now. You know you're dining at a great establishment when every detail is meticulously thought out. We did the 4 course meal, and we each chose different items. And from the cauliflower to the scallop to the sablefish to the side breads, everything was better than anything you've had anywhere else. I typically gag at the smell of brusselsprouts, yet I ate and enjoyed the sprouts served with the ribeye. The scallop and sablefish were like butter, cooked to perfection, and I don't even know how they cooked the ribeye so perfectly. To top it off, Thomas was fantastic in tips and knowledge and also conversation. We need to visit Provision again soon just to compare, but we will be back to Vida many times.

Had a great time meeting a long time friend there for my birthday. Tim, our server, was knowledgeable, and easy going. The food was amazing to say the least. If you're willing to try the foie gras, the husk cherries are divine. In general the staff are extremely personable, and honestly, Vida would be my first suggestion for anyone looking for a nice restaurant downtown.

Thrilled with our first experience here. My boyfriend took me for Valentine's Day and our meal was excellent. We were seated right on time and each course was delicious. I am vegetarian and they accommodated that as well. I highly recommend the Baby Greens salad. We are looking forward to coming back!

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Indy. I came here so many times ...,whether just by myself, chilling with friends or celebrating something... I took off one star because with the newest menu they changed something about the foie gras which I didn't like..it had the weird smell that never had before... (mind you we are big fan of foie gras, we ordered this every chance we could at every restaurant we go so I know what good foie gras is like) I always finished all the courses I ordered, even had room for desert (the donut is totally to die for), except last visit I left the foie gras haft way finish Everything else we ordered was good. The new shrimp dish was great, i had no complaints. Considering how much I love this restaurant, I will give it a try again

Was visiting Indianapolis from NYC for a short 30hr stint and this place did not disappoint. The service was great and made us feel like we were in no rush & could enjoy the meal at our own pace. Ambiance by the fire was amazing & food was delicious! 100% recommend! :)

From start to finish this was a very wonderful experience. The environment was relaxing and comfortable. We chose the 7 course meal option, and every course was superb. Thomas our waiter was very helpful but not overbearing. The food came out in a very timely manner and the pacing of the meal was perfect. The duck breast was the best we ever had, and they were very accommodating with my dairy restriction. I would recommend this resturant to everyone and can't wait to go back myself.

It was a very different experience than I expected. A friend of mine recommended it and even though it's waaaay outside my price range I enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, hospitality from the bartenders and the hostess I will likely go back.

My girlfriend and I visited Vida last night to celebrate her birthday. We had a wonderful experience beginning to end. A couple of days after making my reservation, I received a text message asking if we had any food allergies or dietary restrictions, they also asked if we were celebrating anything. I let them know that we were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and provided them with the name. After arriving to the restaurant we let them know we were there and got some drinks at the bar. The bartenders were really great, and the drinks were as well. The staff was communicative on the readiness of our table, and took us to it as soon as it was ready. We were delighted to see that they had printed "Happy Birthday" and my girlfriend's name on our menus, which they provided to us in a neat roll and a bow around it when we were leaving. Frankie was our server, and he was personable, knowledgeable, and all around what you would want out of our a server. The food was some of the best we have ever had, the courses came out at a very good pace and the staff dropping off the food would detail all of the ingredients in a dish as they set it down. We have been to many similarly priced restaurants before, but the food and service at this restaurant were on another level. My sincerest thanks to Frankie and the rest of the staff at Vida for helping make her birthday one to remember.

The place is super cozy. You immediately feel you are going to have a good time when you walk through the door. Food is very refined with dishes you don't get everyday (fois Gras, duck,etc...) and you get great advice when choosing the wine that would match best with your food. Congratulations to the team We will be back!

TOP FAVORITE restaurant in Indy for a date night or celebrating any occasion. My all time favorite dish is the FOIE GRAS. The RICOTTA DOUGHNUTS are also a top favorite. We always plan a full night dedicated to enjoying each dish with a wine pairing. The experience is worth the time and money. The quality you are receiving is worth the higher end price. Plan an evening and enjoy. Highly recommend

Such a unique experience and unlike anything else I've had in Indianapolis. The price isn't cheap but this is worth it. If you feel like splurging and having a truly great culinary and dining experience then this is a must go to. If you have a big appetite though than expect to still be hungry as the portion sizes are not jumbo at all.

  • 5/5 Alexander K. 3 years ago on Google
Simply delightful in every regard. The wine pairing with the chefs tasting honestly does taste good with the food but by the end I was at "I'm too drunk to taste this chicken." Levels of alcohol. To be fair I got a cocktail and champagne as well though so maybe I wouldn't have been quite so drunk. Moral of the story, if you're getting wine pairing a makes sure you don't get any additional alcohol.

I was having trouble finding a restaurant in Indy that was truly serving food for advanced palates and had a presentation to the food that made it a whole experience. Vida is the place! My husband and I got separate dishes for almost every course and were both eating every last bite of each course it was delectable! The textures were on point. The flavors on point. The presentation was beautiful and the timing and service was fantastic. I gave five stars and will be dining here again. It was very classy but casual. They do switch out your ware for each course but they do not wipe the table between them however, if that would stop you from dining here you would be missing out on the best food in Indy!

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was hands down the best I've had in Indy so far and our waitress, Catherine, was so accommodating. My date was in a cast so she had the kitchen cut the duck into bite size pieces. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Went to Vida as a part of devour week, what a fantastic experience! The duck confit dumplings were amazing, other highlights of the night were the steak, cappelletti, scallops, and maple donuts! Excellent hospitality with plenty of time in between courses. We were worried we would be rushed as we were a late seating but that was absolutely not the case.

I cannot say enough good things about Vida!!! My husband and I did not get to celebrate our birthdays or Meetaversary in April so we decided to splurge and it was worth it!!! Nick was an absolutely amazing server and was so knowledgeable! We did the Chefs Tasting menu paired with wine per his suggestion and it did not disappoint! Every bite was a savory blend of new and exciting flavors. We ate every bite and loved every minute. Thank you Nick and the Vida crew for one of the best date nights we’ve had! We will return and will be raving about it from now on.

Vida is the star of the Cunningham Restaurant family-and that is saying a lot because they have some other very nice restaurants. But the food and the food experience reminds me of being in some of downtown Chicago’s neighborhoods on a summer afternoon. The beautiful window view out into Lockerbie invites the neighborhood right in. And sitting in the bar-sans TV-is one of my favorite intimate places to have a casual dinner with my spouse. Can’t wait to go back.

Seriously. The. Best. Food. I've ever had. They offer 6- and 4-course meal options as well as a la carte. Every single bite was incredible! These people take food and presentation very seriously. They even have their own herb wall so EVERYTHING is done on site! Definitely costs a pretty penny though so save up for a great night out!
