This was my first time eating here and I had such a great experience. The food was phenomenal and our server, Sadie, was even better. She was very patient with me while I asked several questions, and she was very sweet and polite. We received our food fast during lunch time. I will be back to try many other items on the menu. We ordered the club and the Reuben sandwich 🔥🔥

Stopped by this afternoon 5/27 for some take out. This is a small quaint dinner with a long history (since 1960) of great food and service. This is a favorite of the locals and gets busy early. I grew up near this plain little diner and have only recently returned. You’ll find nothing fancy here, just great service and good food at prices you’ll love. Try anything, you’ll like it. As you can see from some of my photos, I’m trying to eat my way through the menu. Stop by anytime, eat in or carry out. Or you can DoorDash. However you order, you’ll be glad you did.

This is my second time visiting here and will always make this a stop if passing through Indianapolis. It’s small and quaint, with that true nostalgic home town feel. You walk in and everyone knows each other. Very friendly staff that treats you like a regular. The food though…. The food is absolutely awesome! Fresh, hot and large amounts and you can’t beat the prices! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or passing through.

The Steer-In is an east side institution. If you like tasty no frills diners, this is a great option. The meatball sub was fantastic, fries were good and our server was super friendly. The beef and noodles is a classic. Comforting old school vibe with neat signage out front. The food took a bit longer than expected to arrive at our table, but when it did come out it was hot and fresh. I will continue to go back.

I took my mom here for an early Mother's Day lunch. The food was delicious and the waitresses were amazing. The onion rings were perfectly crispy, and the Mac and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. My mom got the pork tenderloin sandwich with fries and they were both excellent. This was our first trip here and it definitely won't be our last.

Today I enjoyed the Vegetable Beef soup from the Daily Special Board and a Root Beer Float. The soup was rich and flavorful. A meal by itself. The vanilla ice-cream in the float was one of the best I've ever had. On previous visits I have enjoyed the corned beef hash. They make their own corned beef and this hash was velvety. Also they make a decent biscuit and gravy. FYI they have multiple hot sauces.

First time here. With more visits to come! I don't even know where to start. I had the beef in noodles, mashed potatoes w/brown grave, and sweet corn. The appearance, taste, and serving portions were awesome! My husband had the western BBQ sandwich and fries. One thing we love is when places use fresh beef, not frozen patties. He said the burger was flavorful, and not dry. The bacon was nice and thick. We also had the breaded 🍄 mushrooms. Now I'm not a big fan of Mushrooms but every once in a great while. But these mushrooms were great! Nicely hand-breaded whole mushrooms and not soggy. The atmosphere was laid back and a mix of ages. Our waitress ( wish I got her name) was fantastic! She was full of energy and had a great personality.

This place may not look like much but I’ve never eaten lasagna at a restaurant. And I LOVED it. Everyone was satisfied with the service and the food and that so rarely happens. Check backs were done without having to ask. And napkins kept coming. There is a reason this place has been on TV. It was great I’ve lived in Indiana my whole life and have never been. Well worth EVERY penny.

Wow! This place was awesome!! I ordered the meatball sub and it was so mouth watering. The staff really hustles to keep their customers happy and it's definitely worth the little bit of a wait. Every dish I saw come from the kitchen just made my mouth water.

First time here and went because of being on drive in, diners and dives... it was busy so you you have to be patient for your food but it was so worth the wait !! Very friendly and awesome food and service ... The best onion rings ever!! Perfectly coated, crispy and non greasy! The burger was great as well as the chicken! Would recommend

Finally got to visit the old school diner everyone has been talking about. The food was decent and my server was really nice!! The atmosphere was decent. Felt like I was out of place kind of but still a good time overall. I would like to come back and try their lunch options so I can see if the hype is warranted. But it was average place overall with really good customer service so far. I will update next time I come for lunch!

I remember eating here as a kid over 30 years ago and it is still awesome. Still has that diner feeling and the servers are genuine and fun to talk to. I stsrted with chicken livers had an amazing double steer burger and fries with a side of their delicious fried mushrooms. Even though the food is great, do yourself a favor and leave room for a piece of pie and a coffee. I had the coconut cream pie and my only regret was that I couldn't eat more.

Nice classic diner experience. This is a very popular place to eat at judging by the traffic in and out. Waitresses were kind and attentive. Food was good. Nothing stood out as exceptional, but there were no complaints. It might be a little over-hyped from the triple D experience. I guess that made me expect a little more.

Love the spicy tenderloin. Thick and crunchy and perfect amount of spicy. We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Great all around! Service was good. A bit of a hole in the wall atmosphere, but I really like these types of places!

Great little diner with that old fashioned atmosphere and really good food. My dad loved the chicken livers, the rest of us had pork tenderloin sandwiches. Yum! Their coconut cream pie was excellent, too.

What an awesome little diner in Indianapolis. I asked my Uncle to take us to a great local flavor restaurant for Breakfast before we left town. He did not disappoint with this joint!! The portions were HUGE, the service was good and the little diner was adorable. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and will defiantly go back and try lunch next time we are in town!

It's a diner, nothing fancy. They have regulars who come in to get what they want on a consistent basis. Had the fish fry which was pretty average. I did get to try a slice of the stuffed meat lovers pizza, and immediately understood what set this place apart. Unbelievable flavors and textures in a huge pie for a very reasonable price. Long wait time. But nothing that they didn't advertise. Worth the wait. I remembered the picture only after we had killed most of the pie.

Man I stopped in and got one of the specials of the day. Fish and chips, but I chose fries and cold slaw. Hot, fresh, crunchy, actually very colorful and mouth watering. I took the first bite of the fish and couldn't stop until the French fries called my name. Golden and crisp yet flavor like they should. I Really enjoyed the meal which was at a price I could afford. The waitress was very pleasing and easy to work with. I must return soon for more.

One of my favorite places to eat when in Indy. Too many choices, everything is delicious. Had the tenderloin with tots and slice of coconut cream pie this time around. Corn beef hash is the best I’ve had.

Friendly old style diner with reasonable prices. We ordered the Hoosier tenderloin (tender & juicy) with great onion rings & a order of the daily special sweet deviled eggs. This was a Triple D stop for us & we happy we did.

Was on a road trip, I have to say that this place was pretty good. Overall the food was good and the staff made myself and my cousins feel welcome and the ambiance made it feel like it was like an old diner like back in the day. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a quick bite to eat.

Beef and noodles, a dish my great grandmother used to make, was on the menu so I couldn't pass up ordering it. It was delicious. The noodles are hand made just like my great grandmother's. I also splurged and got a side of mac and cheese. It was the best mac and cheese I've had at a restaurant in a while.
