I was looking forward to trying this place out and became a little disappointed with our service after we asked for the devour menu. Unfortunately a lot of restaurants in the city now put this stigma with people that order off the devour menu and I'm getting a little tired of it. If you don't want to be put on the devour menu than don't be put on it, but don't start to treat the customers like we aren't going to be spending the same type of money as others since their ordering off the regular menu. Our bill was still over $200 after tip, that's over $100 bucks each and I felt like we didn't get the service we desereved. Regardless of how I was disappointed in our service the food itself was actually pretty good for the most part. After about 45 mins of sitting and waiting after we had ordered everything we wanted ti order food started coming out. First our oysters which to me shouldn't have taken 45 mins to get to our table. Next came all of our starters which came about 30 mins after the oysters. And lastly about 30 mins after our starters came our entrees. And then we got our dessert and checks at the same time and then our waiter like got a pickup in his step. I was told that the oysters were very good and very fat. My Caesar Salad was really good but there was a lot of parmesan on top including shaved and shredded. My husband's calamari was probably one of the best I've had in the city. He ordered the Mahi Mahi and I ordered the 6oz deserved. Both were good and had excellent flavors however I think they had been sitting waiting to be delivered to our table as they weren't exactly hot when we received them. With that being said the flavors were excellent, and I loved the crust on top of my steak. The Mahi has very good flavors. My husband and I both got the key lime which was very tasty and a good compliment to the end of dinner. Overall I gave a three star strictly because our service was subpar to begin with, however we did get a new waiter towards the end of our meal as we were told thr other guy had to take care of a very large party that had just walked in. And also because our food wasn't hot. I would love to try this place again but not if are going to get the same quality and service we received.

I went to the Oceanaire Seafood Room with a friend and it was fantastic! Our food was fresh and perfectly prepared. The service and atmosphere were excellent too. I spent a great deal of time on the East Coast and the seafood was really fresh at this restaurant - on par with anything in New England. Many thanks to the staff and we will be back soon!

Top notch seafood. Great atmosphere. Only suggestion for improvement would be to turn lights up. Had to get cell phone out to read menu. Fantastic place! Oysters were amazing as was the scallops and truffle whipped potatoes.

Tim our server is what made our experience an A+....or a perfect 5 out of 5. Great place to celebrate our sons 20th birthday and his commitment to join the Air Force. He was deserving of us taking him out for a high priced celebration. For us being common people this was definitely a splurge but we made a memorable experience, even tho my son saw the bill and as he put it "it made me cringe" Yes its upscale and high priced but we weren't disappointed. Thanks Tim for making sure everything went smooth even tho the server dropped my meal and I had to wait until everyone else was finished before even starting mine. We appreciate you and know if it wasn't for you, it could have turned into a bad experience.

To start I took my wife out for a day for her. Made reservations thru open table. It was very easy and they kept reminding me. Which was great. The waitress done a great job. She was honest and suggestive. One of her suggestions made my meal. We started off with some raw oysters. Which my wife had never tried. The vinegar sauce and cocktail sauce were delicious with them. Surprisingly my wife ate her second Oyster. The next item we ordered was the crab cake. It was delicious. Full of crab. My wife got the lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing. I tasted it and it was good. I ordered the New England clam chouder. To me it was alright. I've had much better. It tasted to much like potato soup. For my main entree I got scallops dynamite style. Which put small crab cake on top with a simi spicy sauce it was delicious. My wife got the chicken fried lobster. I felt it was very bland. My wife ate it said it was ok. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. It was good a Lil spicy. I would try something else next time. They brought my wife a dessert for her birthday. Baked alaska. They presentation was very cool. Pouring alcohol over it and lighting it on fire. The chocolate raspberrie ice cream was fantastic especially with the charred meringue. The meringue tasted like a roasted marshmallow. The combination of the ice cream and meringue was delicious. The cake part was dry and terrible. Overall we had a great experience. For what we got and they prices to me were not worth it. I would go back just will be awhile. There menu changes daily and the seafood is flown in daily. I would recommend going just be choosy and ask what is the most popular.

The theme was a little too cruise ship for me. I get the name, I get the atmosphere but to have to take out a penlight to see what you’re eating was a little frustrating. The seafood was great and the the steak was pretty average (think Ruth’s Chris). It was nice to try a place we had never been to before but for the price point ($150 pp) we will be exploring other places. I will say, the desserts ranked among my top favorites.

This is our second visit as our time went so well. Once again The Oceanaire did not let us down. The atmosphere is perfect for a high end restaurant and in my opinion the setting and lighting as one would expect. Service was impeccable and the waitress in training,Ana, was already ahead of many seasoned servers I have encountered in other restaurants. The rest of the wait staff right there as backup as well. We mixed it up this visit and went with the fried calamari mix and happy we did. Great flavor and tenderness, often overcooked or just bland which this was not. The crab cakes perfectly presented and being from the east coast, I can say very impressed. The lobster tail I added just made it that much more fun. Halibut t-bone also a wonderful decision made. All served in a perfectly paced environment, to which I do believe many diners do not understand or enjoy. To some perhaps having appetizer and salad and main course all arrive within seconds a positive, this is not one would generally expect at a fine restaurant. I think my only not great review was our Brussel Sprout selection as side. The preparation sounded interesting so we went with it. We also went with it knowing our other selections in the past superb, so no harm nor foul lol. I highly recommend The Oceanaire. A fine upscale seafood restaurant operating in the Midwest, with the ability to serve fresh and often not found combinations at this level. To those who have mentioned prices, please see above comment as without close proximity to the sea, there will certainly be extra costs to bring fresh seafood here.

Absolutely nothing special or spectacular about this restaurant or the food. I've been to numerous upscale restaurants and this is by far the worst! This restaurant is so dark you can't read the menu, see anyone, and especially not the food! (Our server was the bartender who provided us minimal service.) The main reason I/we chose to eat here was offering the whole deep-fried red snapper, which was overcooked. * Tip: Do not order the crab cakes. You get 2 "very small" ones for $50, that's it! Also, unbeknownst to us, the Baked Alaska was peppermint, inedible. (Yum toothpaste)

For seafood lovers only. This place is pricey but good portion sizes so you don't feel like you are being jipped. I had the Maryland crab cakes and calamari. Their calamari has peppers so watch out for those.Their crab cake is nothing but the best with huge lump crab pieces no fillers whatsoever. I enjoyed the atmosphere and my 🍎 martini.

This is our go-to place for an elegant dinner to celebrate special occasions. We get the same entrees every time - can’t go wrong with Filet Mignon and King Crab Legs w/ shareable sides of truffle whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. Always great service and enjoy our dining experience at The Oceanaire!

I had the clam chowder and a seafood salad. Both were beyond fantastic! Others at the table had there crusted lobster tails. Nothing but high praise all the way around for the taste and presentation of these dishes. I also had their signature Oceanaire 2.0 cocktail.

Exceptional dining experience. Our server was Allen and he was fantastic. The atmosphere, food and staff were all amazing and we were so happy we chose The Oceanaire to celebrate our anniversary!

We dined here yesterday for my husbands birthday. Staff was extremely welcoming. Our waiter, Rick, was amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, in fact, best steaks we have had. Quiet atmosphere with classical music, low lights but bright enough to see throughout. Parking garage across the street or they have valet for $12. This is an upscale restaurant with a business casual dress code. Their website shows dos/donts on dress. We had a great time here and will return. A filet mignon, ny strip, salad, hashed browns, coke, bread with veg tray, $144 to give you an estimate on price. Very well worth every penny!

Visited this place for team dinner and my god it had the best fish I’ve ever had in midwest. It’s definitely pricier than other options around but the food quality, ambience, and staff justify it well. The Seabass was fabulous and so was the baked alaskan and crème brûlée. They have banging Daiquiris.

The food is nothing short of exquisite and the staff are impressive in thier level of care. Their menu is updated daily so that you can be assured everything on it is fresh and available. Nothing but high praise all the way around for the taste and presentation of these dishes. I also had their signature Oceanaire 2.0 cocktail. Really nice taste with a juicy tart flavor and a sweet finish. Highly recommended for an anniversary or a special date night or if you just want to treat yourself.

This is my 2nd time back to Oceanaire Seafood Room and I was even more impressed. The service is truly remarkable, Jacob was extremely attentive and made us feel special the entire way through dinner. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy. Our food was prepared to perfection and had outstanding flavor. The escargot is a must! The Baked Alaska was fun and sweet way to end the evening!

Amazing. The food was beyond the best expectations. I wish I could afford to eat there frequently but it was a one and done for me. But if you can afford it, GO. You won't regret it. The laughing shrimp was the best thing I have eaten in my entire life.

On 7/18: Mikhail our server, Kevon the assistant and Ben Carroll, manager were all on point! Went there for a work dinner. My colleagues picked the place and I didn’t have high hopes since I don’t like much seafood but it was a great night with excellent service. My order (Indiana tomato caprese salad and fried calamari) was amazing. Heard my colleagues say the Laughing Bird Shrimp, Shrimp and Grits, the crab cakes were all delicious. We had a great night!

Atmosphere was lovely and the service exactly what you would expect in this posh dining spot. Server was helpful with menu items as well. Food was very pricy but worth it for a lovely dining experience. Free bread and cruditet.

We have been here twice and each time the best experience. The clam chowder is absolutely amazing. Their variety of seafood is exceptional. We will be coming back ever time we are in Indy from CA.
