The reviews speak for themselves. I drive over an hour to come eat here and will continue to do so. The Birria is life changing and my favorite menu item. Sometimes there’s a short wait but it’s because they are popular for good reasons!!! Food always comes out hot, fresh, and in a timely fashion. The servers do an incredible job balancing multiple tables and orders. This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant of all time. Do yourself a favor and treat yo self to the food here.

Honestly the best authentic Mexican food spot I've found in the area. Staff is friendly and attentative. The food was delicious. I started with some elote and it was great. I grabbed the Texas Burrito and smothered it...heavenly. Washed it down with some homemade flan...don't forget dessert. If you are in the mood for some family fresh Mexican food, you should definitely stop in here.

Service was great but the food has gone down hill the past few years. Literally never had this bad of Mexican food in my life. Just quality, taste, how the food looked was gross. I’ve never seen steak look like that. I wouldn’t recommend it. Don’t waste your money. The salsa wasn’t great either. I used to love their food.

Best place for late night Mexican food. Great prices! Also free parking on site so you don't have to do street parking/parallel parking. We had fast service and the food was hot and tasty. Also, you can get tomales a la carte --DO IT! I'll definitely be back!

My wife and I stopped in for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon, after a busy day of holiday shopping. I had been craving posole for a long time, and fortunately it was available the day we visited. My bowl of posole was absolutely fabulous! Probably the best I've ever had! (Besides my moms, of course!) The balance of slight heat, hominy, and pork was spot on. My wife had a steak taco, and some chips and queso, which she also enjoyed. I will definitely return for the unforgettable posole! We finished off our meal with a Mexican fried ice cream, which was also delicious!

Seriously, stop here. It’s so delicious. Tamales are amazingly fresh. Just like abuela would make for Christmas, I swear. The empanadas are so AMAZING. Best empanadas I’ve ever had, hands down. The elote is great too. Just do yourself a favor and stop in.

First time I ate there and I was impressed. When you see a Mexican restaurant full of Hispanics you know the food is authentic. It had all kinds of meat options so don't be fooled by the unknown options. They have ground beef and chicken choices. Oh and I recommend the margaritas!

Ok, I’d rather not reveal this place, but can’t help it. Authentic Mexican food - birria, caldo, chile rellonos, tamarindo etc. Yes, everything tastes great - they use lard! Very bright and cheerful, quick service. Can be busy and not a huge place. Good crowd from all over, Spanish heard everywhere. Even the police like this place. Prices very reasonable - plates about $10 to $12 dollars. Abundant parking!

Yesterday I went to La Parada after work as a treat for myself. I ordered a horchata, steak quesadilla, two tamales (chicken with green sauce), and fried ice cream. The food there was sooo good!🤤 Like I had a feeling that the food would be good, but I didn't know it was going to be THAT GOOD! They're definitely my new favorite Mexican food spot. By the way, all the waiters were super friendly there. Plus, a guy even performed a song for me.

IMPRESSED by everything! We were genuinely greeted upon arrival at 11:30ish for lunch and seated immediately. It was soon following that the place was full. Waiting for our food to arrive while stuffing the warm chips and awesome salsa in our face, we noticed many plates with a whole fish go by us that looked delicious. We want to go back to try that (besides a number of other dishes). Also while waiting and observing, we saw a sign that they have birria tacos. I've heard so much about them, that we plan on going back to try those. Can hardly wait. Another thing, we both have never found a molé sauce that we like or would eat. We have asked to taste the molé sauce where ever we have been, even Mexico in the past with no luck. We asked for a taste here and finished the whole sample they gave us. It was so good. Again, another dish we plan on going back for soon. Meanwhile, we got our food very promptly. Our server was very good and attentive. Our food was beautifully presented. I ordered the Shrimp Fajitas asking that the vegetables be cooked longer than normal, which they did just that. It were so flavorful and the shrimp were very flavorful, plentiful, juicy and cooked perfectly (not muchy or chewy at all). The salad plate provided plenty of delicious Pico, lettuce, flavorful guacamole and sour cream. Rice and beans were plentiful and flavorful. The tortillas were toasted, thick and warm. Very, very happy with my choice. Hubby got Chicken Enchiladas Verde and was very pleased. Portions are very healthy! The whole time, our server constantly checked back and always asked if everything was okay and kept our drinks full. We both brought home some serious leftovers. I would like to add that the whole time we were there, the lady that was cashier, handling to go orders and helping out in general was cleaning the restaurant every second. Being in prior management, this REALLY impressed me. You just don't see this practice much any more. I also saw many employees hit the hand sanitizer more than once out front as well. Kudos to owner, management and employees. Please keep up the good work. You have a huge fan in my husband and I! BTW...There is plenty of free on site parking.

The best Mexican food in the Indy hands down. Great service, good food, the best margaritas can all be had at the La Parada.

Best Taco in downtown...no place beat it ! It was cheap before but I guess everything goes up, the price here also went up too. I love their seafood soup, u can see they give u ton of seafood in there plus some potatoes and carrots. Need Fajita was great. Only give you 3 flour tortillas, I don't think it was enough.

Very good Mexican food surprisingly in Indy. It was authentic, the flavor and prep was great. Very cramped dining room and in a worn down building, but don't let that stop you. A great mix of customers too.

every time i go here the food is fire. the portions are good. they have a wide variety of selection. the arroz con steak is clutch. they always lather it up with hella queso so 🤌 theres a lot of competition for this kind of food on the east side; and while its good competiton, this ones my favorite. they're well staffed, kind, efficent, well priced, clean - try it out. its always buzzing and the resteraunt always seems full of people; a good sign, as the food also always tastes fresh in my experience.

Best kept secret in the city - Carlos is the ultimate waiter & friend. The staff treat everyone like family even me.. the lonely Gringo! Verde tamales shrimp cocktail and the #25 modelos + Mezcal, even live music on the weekends. Amazing atmosphere & Staff shout out to the chefs and kitchen staff too keep killing it. Your Friend JC

In my opinion, best to eat this at the restaurant vs getting it take out. Decent burrito, decent carne asada tacos, but mediocre tamales sadly. I ordered the tres leche cake and it wasn’t very flavorful. Staff is kind and helpful, ambience is simple and colorful.

The outside initially gave a bad impression, but once you entered, it was great. Chili Rellenos were authentic and filling. The chips, salsa, and queso appetizer were really good. We experienced great value for what we ordered. It is hard to find good authentic Mexican food when traveling, but La Parada did not disappoint. Additionally, when I saw the bench design in the front (see the pic), I said to myself, "This better be good."

I always feel so welcome here. The staff is super friendly. It has easily become my family's favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is out of this world and handmade with love. They've got my business and I am sure to tell everyone to give this place a try.

It was a bad experience. We had a group of 10 people, and the main manager was extremely rude. After 30 minutes of sitting down, I asked that they at least being out the drinks! He came to our table and said, “ be patient, we are busy and you have a big group”. Really? Why does it matter if we had a group of 10 people … we only ordered coke, sprite and water ! We were traveling to Kentucky and we only picked this restaurant for all the great reviews it showed. To say the least, we were totally disappointed and shocked. If the group wasn’t hungry and tired, we would have left.

Whenever I get homesick and miss being around my Mexican family, I come to La Parada where I get treated like family. I have been coming here for nine years. The servers treat you like family. They always make sure to check up on you before the thought even crosses your mind. This is the perfect spot to devour some delicious Mexican dishes with a menu filled with a variety of options or drink some of their huge margaritas. Definitely worth your money. I love the staff at La Parada. They provide such a warm, positive atmosphere and always greet you with big smiles when you walk in and when you walk out of the restaurant. ¡Gracias por muchos anos de excelene servicio y un buen hogar!

They have some really excellent food A lot of variety and choices in the menu. Their patio wasn't open yet for the summer when I went but it looks like it would be an amazing place to sit it has a graveview of the city. Really great date night Place… and most of all the food is just about as cheap as you can find anywhere money wise that you're going to eat. I doubt you could even eat Taco Bell for the price that they charge for their delicious food. We had 4 adults and one child and with all of the Drinks and food included it still only ended up being around $75. When you want to cheap night out but also want to eat really good Mexican food this is your spot.. I would say much better than El Mason where I normally go.

What a great, fun, experience. The line was out the door -- but they managed the crowd really well. Absolutely delicious, and my burrito was enough for two meals. Also, the horchata was spectacular.

Yes to this small, authentic restaurant. Run down- arrived on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. Wrote my name down for two and they said 10 mins. I was skeptical but willing to wait it out a bit. While I’m waiting, I see a guy order beers at the counter to enjoy while he is waiting for a table. Game changer. 2 Dos Equis later, they call my name to get me seated barely 5 mins after I wrote my name down. Seated, chips, salsa, service immediately, man walking around playing guitar for tips. Great, lively, brimming atmosphere. Extensive menu with pictures and detailed descriptions. Ordered a burrito which was huge. They sat down bottles of other salsa- verde which was awesome and then a red spicy guy. Margaritas we’re pretty good, nothing too crazy but Mexican restaurant without getting a marg? Couldn’t be me. Parking is a bit tight, and they do have outdoor seating. I would highly recommend and glad we decided to stop by this place on our way through this side of Indy. Would come back again- My second fav Mexican restaurant in Indy.

Delightful environment, authentic delicious food, very fairly priced entrees, wonderful overall experience. Have not visited in over 5 yrs at least, The taste and value hasn't changed. Also the best part was that I really awesome waitress remember me from all of that time. Highly recommend trying this if you are in the area!
