Before this new management and few menu changes, this place was amazing. The staff and management was awesome. My family would come here literally every week. Now… no thank you. Especially with Manager Pardaman. We had an issue with my dish that he refused to handle. I sent back my dish and still had to pay for it and he wouldn’t have it remade without charging me for both meals. This is a great atmosphere but the new management needs more training. I didn’t appreciate having to pay for a meal and leaving hungry because of poor management problem solving skills.

We went for our second visit this past Friday and once again a wonderful meal. A small hiccup with original seating was quickly resolved and service perfect from there on out. Dined outside this visit and was a great choice on this night. Baby Iceberg Wedge again a great start. Entrees of Fried Louisiana Catfish and The Grilled Fisherman Catch tasted spot on. They were gracious enough to allow substitution of Salmon for additional shrimp on the Fishermen Catch. Would also suggest the Boater’s Tan as a cocktail from their list of drinks. Highly recommend your visit Rick’s. The setting, food and service equals a great night out.

Rick's Cafe Boatyard is a fantastic place to visit for a special night out. Rick's has a delightful menu selection and is just as pleasing to the eyes as the palette. The facility is modern and clean. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. We made reservations, asked for a seat overlooking the water, and timed it so we could watch the sun set. It was a fabulous night out that we won't soon forget. I'd highly recommend Rick's Cafe Boatyard.

The food was great. The service was good. The atmosphere is amazing....we sat overlooking the water. The mix drinks were delicious. The prices were good. I highly recommend coming here. __________________< Their story! Service was Awesome Katie!. Appetizer stuffed mushrooms and blue point oyster on the half shell were delicious. We sent one dish back for taste, but they replaced it promptly with a different selection. The twin Chops and the Fisherman Platter pictures here were amazing. Others in the group had Salmon and the Chicken Parmesan. I'll be back and I hope you try Rick's when you get a chance, they say the ambiance in the summer time is nautically magnificent.

Today's brunch was @ricks_boatyard The view was spectacular (Eagle Creek Lake). I would definitely go back. You can make a reservation which is always a plus. Our server was great We got the following: Cream cheese stuffed French toast ( tasted like a funnel cake 🤤) Bacon Jam Pizza (bacon jam, goat cheese, prosciutto, and arugula-delicious) Biscuits & gravy ( looks gross but taste was good. Needed more gravy though)

This food was absolutely beautiful!! It looked like the pics. I am a visual customer and order food according to how it looks. Rick's did not disappoint. Hannah our server, did an excellent job handling our large party. The food tastes delicious. No one at our table had any complaints which is usual with large parties. Beautiful atmosphere

This place was a pleasant surprise. Usually when you go to one of these "upscale" joints, you know you're going to trade off quantity for quality for dinner, with the expectation that you'll gain in the atmosphere and service departments. Ricks, however, delivered on everything. We ordered 3 meals for 2 of us (hey, we're hungry athletes), expecting the portions to be meager. We made a mistake. They were huge. And delicious. We had the Chicken Tostada Pizza, the Brick Chicken, and the Grilled Chicken Salad. Everything was amazing, and we had to undo our belts a little bit for comfort. Even more surprising was that prices weren't bad. Most meals are under $20. A deal in my book.

Rick's does not disappoint, especially if looking for good seafood in the Indy area. Enjoyed cocktails, jumbo shrimp martini, Fisherman's catch (+ hoppin Johns), and blackened scallops (+ sweet potato puree and broccoli). Booked reservation online and were seated close to our time. Server was nice but couldn't find a desert menu... although we were out of room from dinner. We plan to return to try some other menu items that also looked tempting and hopefully enjoy the outdoor seating when it's warm enough.

Rick’s Cafe Boatyard has been on our list of date-night restaurants to check out for a long time. We finally made it and we’re happy we did. Even with some construction work happening, the atmosphere was nice. They had several gluten-free options for us to choose from. We chose bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp tacos (see the photos), and it was all delicious. Our server was great… very attentive, friendly and helpful.

The experience was great. Nice clean place. Laid-back and the energy was great. The starter we had was fried goat cheese. We both enjoyed it. I will definitely come back again. I wish it was warmer so We could have enjoyed eating outside and te beautiful firepit. A must visit for any occasion.

We had not been to Rick's in some time but decided to take an out of town guest for dinner. One diner had the Iceberg Wedge as their dinner. Large portion, very fresh lettuce and ample blue cheese crumbles and bacon. Our guest had the Blackened Shrimp Po Boy sandwich with fries. I didn't get a picture until after he folded the bun over , however the shrimp for this sandwich appeared to be what I call "salad shrimp", all of maybe an inch long, maybe 12 or so in total , very little to no blackening , shredded lettuce and very thick sub like bun. Not a quality sandwich that was hoped for and not close to what we've had in NOLA. The worst was the Nashville Hot Fish & Chips. There were 4 fish nuggets covered in a blackish granular "sauce". The flavor profile was terrible. We could not even figure out what it was . Most of it was poured over 2 of the nuggets which made it inedible. In addition the fish was over cooked , dried out and unappetizing. We assumed there would have been a couple of beer batter fried fillets already Nashville seasoned. Not so. Portion size makes this best as a $6-$7 appetizer , albeit still bad, but certainly not an $18 entree with fries an extra $1.50 making in $19.50. I complained to the wait staff of how bad it was but she made no offer to trade it out. I should have just asked to trade it out. She asked if I wanted another Diet Coke to wash it down. All in all, the Iceberg Wedge was great. But two dishes costing what they did were way overpriced for what we got. To be safe just get burgers and high end steaks here. Very disappointed in Rick's for these.

My sister took me here for my birthday lunch and It was delicious, amazing!! Our waitress recommended the pork chops meal , she was on point with that one. I told my sister we would be going back when I visit again. The mushrooms were just right. I wish the plate was bigger. And the catfish was fried hard to my sister liking. This place gets A 💯. The scenery is beautiful to sit out there and eat with your love ones.

I decided to make reservations on Open Table for Mother’s Day and I’m SO glad that I did! My family was visiting from out of town and we wanted something tasty but with a view. Rick’s did NOT disappoint. 😁 We arrived about 15 minutes early but were enthusiastically greeted and seated immediately. Our server was prompt and very hilarious; he really knows how to make a family laugh and how to talk to children. There are so many great options on the menu and the hardest part was deciding what to eat! Our party of 5 loved every item brought to us. I’d definitely go out of my way to come here again if I find myself in Indianapolis.

My first time ever coming here. The atmosphere is a bit loud be ause they were busy, but I loved being on the patio. We got our reservations made easily online. Our dinner was had at sunset and the view was breathtaking. Seated immediately when we got to the hostess. Food was outstanding! Waitress was phenomenal and was well versed on what great drinks there were, reviews from past patrons about our menu choices, and was bubbly and friendly. I tried the shrimp and scallop linguine. I was a bit hesitant because the sauce offered wasn't something I was familiar with. It was outstanding!

A great place to go for a scenic dinner and fun drinks. Going here makes you feel like you're not in landlocked Indiana. Being on the big reservoir you can see activity on the water and the sailing club across the way. It's a great setting. The wait staff is awesome and very attentive. They know the menu well and made some recommendations for us on what to order. The drinks were amazing and fun. They give you that vacation feel. The food came out piping hot and tasted great as well. My only complaint was that the portion size for the fish and chips was a bit small. It's possible to have dinner for a decent price but if you get drinks and steak or something, the bill will definitely add up. They also have a kids menu that looked pretty decent.

This is our second time going there. I ordered the shucked oysters and let me tell you they are huge. These require chewing you can’t just swallow (that’s what she said) because there is so much there. For my main dish we had pasta and the lobster tail which is all amazing. I am uploading pictures of the oysters to give you a size reference. The drinks are yummy and their cocktail menu runs about 11 each

The shrimp cocktail is a must! Filet is my personal favorite and always cooked perfectly. The view is absolutely beautiful, especially when the sun is setting.

We really enjoyed Rick's Boatyard. Just our first visit. We ate outside undercover of a light rain. Very good food and service. The price was much more reasonable than I thought. We will go back again.

Rick’s Cafe Boatyard is a gem on the water. Worth a trip to the west side of Indianapolis for great atmosphere, great views, and delicious food. Even though it was busy on a Friday night, we were able to get a table for 3 immediately. Our server Cody was friendly, courteous, helpful, and gave me a great recommendation for my meal. I had the Seared Salmon with asparagus and puréed sweet potatoes. My daughter had the Chicken Parmesan. It was a large portion, I would say enough for two people to share. My son had the kids Chicken Strips meal. Everyone enjoyed their food. Thank you for a great night out with the kiddos.

Atmosphere, food, drinks & waiter was GREAT!! I gave 4 stars because you do not get much food for the money you spend.. the pasta was delicious but it was a very small portion, not sure if you can tell by photo but very small.. I'm sure I paid not only for food but for the view which was spectacular 💜

Really like the atmosphere. I went in the middle of spring and it wasn't very busy. Took awhile after being seated to have order taken. This is understandable as it seemed slow and it was about 2 hours until close I think they were cutting staff which can be chaotic in any restaurant. The food was ok but for what it cost I expected more seasoning. I ordered an 8oz sirloin med rare it was well done and lacking flavor. The fries and rice were good additions though and desert, an apple fritter al la mode was the best part of the meal. They offer quite a few drinks here and I have a feeling that that's where this place really shines. I unfortunately was unable to drink as I flew in at the airport across the street. All in all I will definitely be back. But I'll try some other menu items when I do.

We all enjoyed our food and drinks. We had a wide variety of different foods. Excellent service. Six adults in our party, and two children. Parties of eight or more are automatically billed a 20% gratuity. *We were embarrassed by an older member at our table. He was a guest of a friend in the group. He was rude, and made inappropriate comments to our waitress, our waiter took over our table. We are so sorry for his behavior. I tipped heavily to try and offset his ignorance.

One of my favorites. The location, the scenery, the menu, the sunset....all amazing. Took some friends from out of town to give them a good sendoff since they were leaving the next morning. Just a wonderful place. SOOOOO Highly Recommended

My family & I gathered to celebrate a birthday & like always everything was fantastic! I had the crab cakes again & they were delicious. I especially enjoyed the crime brûlée, this evenings special flavor was pistachio. All their mashed potatoes are Yukon gold which I enjoyed. Rick’s have a gray atmosphere & great views of the water. My children loved looking at the boats & water all around us. Service was great! Can’t wait to come back!

We absolutely loved it at Rick's Cafe Boatyard. The food was so delicious, View from outside deck at sunset was amazing. Service was very quick and friendly. Very laid back crew. I had the Louisiana catfish fillers and omg... so good. My wife had the pan seared salmon and she she it was the best she ever had. Will definitely go back as this was our first time there. Great Job!!

The best view and great vibe, it's always beautiful and lively out on the patio. Our food was delicious and they are well known for the amazing dessert we took home with us, chocolate and carrot cakes. That being said, while our food was tasty, everything, apps and entrées- were cold. That could have been our waiter because everything was cooked well, just not served hot. That was disappointing but still a great time at Rick's.
