Tourist attraction β€’ Park

πŸ‘πŸ‘ A gorgeous place to spend a few hours either on a boat or walking the canal. There is art, sculptures, and history all along the canal. Walking at night is much more beautiful with all the lights accenting the canal. People often mention walk, canal, nice, downtown, Great, paddle, area, boat,

Beautiful walk in downtown area. HS newer or renovated buildings all around, it’s a great place for a relaxing evening walk after a stressful day. A must see place when visiting Indianapolis.

Really enjoyed stopping here and taking in the scenery. Didn't have the time to rent a kayak, but I think next time I'm here I gotta fit it in. Did see a couple people out on them. This makes a really awesome spot and activity for the city.

Absolutely beautiful place to take the family for a walk. We were very surprised at how nice the walking paths were and the amount of shade trees throughout was very nice. We're going back tomorrow morning!

Met a nice couple there! Had to leave before I could give them the artwork they said that they wanted, will be back in the same spot on Monday!

A nice relaxing place to go for a walk. It can get a little crowded in this area sometimes so it’s not the best for jogging. Sometimes they dye the water in the canal different colors for special events and that is fun. I like to watch the people go by in the rentable paddle boats that you can take down the canal.

It was really nice to walk down the canal. We also rented bikes which sped up the process & was nice as well. So many things to do, also many rentals for water as well. Very nice place for family or date

Cool and surprising part of Downtown Indianapolis. Well maintained and a neat way to enjoy the city from a different perspective. Paddle boats also available for rent along the canal.

This is a good place for a walk. Plenty of area to have some festivities, although we did not see any.

I love that the canal walk is in the middle of Indy downtown and I am amazed by other attractions like museums, state parks or zoo that any tourist can visit from one to the next. You will see a lot of walkers and joggers around the area. You can enjoy some canoe or swan rides as well. I totally love this place.

Great place to walk around. It's very scenic and there are several places to visit our you can rent a paddle boat and ride on the canal. Also a great place for photos. So many colors and textures make it good for family photos or senior pictures.

It was a nice walk but there was nothing going on. No food options or activities. I expected more to do and locations to get food. It was April and it looks like the attractions don't open until May so that was disappointing.

The canal is stagnant right now so it's building up algae. There are frequent smokers in the area and homeless. The northern section is nicer and the end at the park is nice. Some of the bridges are crumbling and need some upkeep.

Love visiting the canal on St. Patrick's Day and my dogs love to watch the ducks! Saw a gorgeous white one today. Kept clean and relaxing.

This place is so clean! It's full of life even in March. Ducks and various birds mingle with butterflies and early spring flowers. The sculpture garden is an added benefit, as are the various waterfalls that can be sat at while you contemplate our oneness with nature. Probably the cleanest park and canal I have ever seen in.

The canal is very pretty, at least in most places near the downtown center of Indianapolis.

Smokers that work for the state make it unpleasant. You have to walk through clouds of smoke.

Maybe my favorite thing to do in Indy. The walk along the historic canal is very peaceful and relaxing. Nearby are several nice museums. Boats and bikes are available for rent.

Always love to walk the canal. Great place to think, relax, take photos, walk (and if so inclined, bike, jog, paddle boat, kayak, gondola ride, etc.).

A great place to visit that us connected to the Cultural Trail downtown.

Great space to walk and enjoy the various activities. Free to walk but there are some other activities available through the warmer months that cost money.

It was a nice place to walk, clean with places to sit along the way. Park at the state park lot and then it's a short walk to the canal. Bike rental nearby, paddle boat rental is further down the canal.

A nice place in downtown Indy to take a stroll, bike ride, or paddle boat. It is safe with a variety of art and architecture to look at.

Great walk with my wife down the canal. What a way to enjoy the city and an afternoon. We didn't do any paddle boats or anything, but it would be fun to do. We would also be interested in evening Gondala rides. Nice area to relax, walk, jog, walk the dog, or paddle the canal.

Whether you're looking for a scenic spot to jog, walk, or spend time with that special someone.. the canal definitely should be on your bucket list. This is perhaps one of my favorite parts of our city. Try going after dinner, the crowds are quieter and more diverse.
