Unfortunately every time we go here lately, we get terrible service. No refills, no chips, and slow, oh so slow service. Last waitress we had was terribly hating her job. We didn't make it difficult, she just had a terrible attitude with everything. So we stopped asking, and she never offered. We had a table full of dishes by the time dinner was over. She never took anything away, even after it was obvious we were done with it (napkins on top etc) for spending over $100 on drinks and appetizers for 4 people, and of course main courses, I would go somewhere else. Food is always delicious, but unfortunately, service leaves so much to be desired. This is our 3rd time in a row with bad service. I doubt we will try any more. Last time was celebrating a birthday. It makes me sad, but I'll take our celebration somewhere else.

Food was delicious, good portions and flavor, the margaritas are so good. The atmosphere was beautiful inside and everything was very clean. The customer service is very good we had the bartender this afternoon. He was super helpful and nice.

The first thing that stands out here is the atmosphere - the decor layout and design is very well thought out, making this stand out as an upscale Mexican restaurant. The menu is huge and has a lot of what you would expect from this genre, and many things you wouldn't. I had the Sautéed Chicken Zucchini lunch special and it was tasty. The zucchini was a bit overdone, but the sauce and the chicken were spot on. The prices are a little higher than your average Mexican joint, but I suppose they have to pay for all of those decorations and lights somehow.

I loved the chicken nachos. Single chips and chicken. Cheese was great and margaritas good too. Funny, up north they didn't know what a Texas Margarita was.

Enjoyed good service and the ambience. The complimentary chips were thin and wonderf, and salsa was so good we went through 3. I had the Chile rellono, and enjoyed every bite. I wish this chain were in my area cause I would definitely return.

Abuelo's is my favorite Tex Mex restaurant in Indy so far. The chain is based in Texas, and it shows in the food. They offer a selection of three salsas, with roasted habañero included by default, so you don't have to ask them to bring out the spicy one. The entrees are well-executed Tex-Mex, with a few enjoyable twists, like the seasoned mashed potatoes or the jalapeño poppers. The service is excellent, too, especially if you get Cedric as your server!

Unfortunately our Abuelo’s location on 86 street, which we used to visit religiously, shut down so we came over here to continue having our traditional favorites. We have been long fans of Abuelo‘s. The free salsa and chips are absolutely delicious. Thin and crispy tortilla chips with a fresh corn taste unlike many Mexican restaurants which you can tell have a lots of preservatives. The three salsas provided are full of taste and unlike many salsas that you get at other places. This is by far my favorite platter, I believe it’s called the Conzumel, and even though they have many other great food options I always seem to come back to this one. They are stuffed with the guacamole and topped with a creamy sauce. The only downside is that they don’t serve these with scallops like they used to, otherwise they’re perfect including the vegetables that are seasoned just right.
