If you want to know how scaringly powerful a volcano is, you have to visit The House of Memory. An abandoned house destroyed during the 2010 eruption of Mt. Merapi, this stopover is a typical route for the Lava Tour. It shows the destructive power of pyroclastic flow - from burnt logs, to destroyed furniture, to avandoned furnishings, and even to cow skeletons. It is actually a shock to some people but it helps youn understand never to underestimate Mother Nature. You can only imagine the horrors experienced by the locals as Merapi unleashed its fury. It would be wise to walk around here in silence and remember the people who died in that tragic natural disaster. Be careful of the dust though so it is qise to have a mask on while going around. A small shop offers souvenirs and some refreshments.

It is one of the destinations visited on the Jeep tour. A house that was buried in pyroclastic flow and ash during the 2010 eruption of Mt. Merapi has been preserved. Merapi is an active volcano and still erupts with lava flowing, and you can see photos of what happened at that time. It seems difficult to come here by car alone.

No entrance fee. This place is a living witness of the several Merapi eruptions. You can see things that melted because of the hot lava. From the motorcycles, sewing machine, clock, TV, etc. Pictures, memories from the eruptions. And even the sand from the eruptions!

Deep condolence. Merapi erupted strongly early Friday morning. Volcanic ash fell at Cangkringan district and its surroundings 10 km (6.2 mi) from the crater. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) issued an ongoing code red Aviation Volcanic Ash Advisory and reported MTSAT-2 satellite image-derived information indicating a volcanic ash plume to (55,000 feet (17,000 m) – FL550), extending 190 nautical miles (350 km) to the west and southwest of the mountain.[

The collection at the Omahku Memoriku Museum is not much different from the collection at the Sisa Hartaku Mini Museum. For this museum, the house is quite large because, according to the story, it was once the village head's house. The collection of items affected by volcanic ash is also quite large. The Omahku Memoriku Museum is not far from the Mini Museum of My Remaining Treasures. Approximately 500 meters. From the entrance we can see livestock skeletons, motorbike frames, remains of items that could have been saved. Imagine how powerful the eruption of Mount Merapi was in 2010 at that time Many fatalities including the legendary caretaker of Mount Merapi, Mbah Maridjan (don't forget to say prayers for Mbah Maridjan and all the victims 🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻) Oh yes, you can rent a jeep to go around the village too, for around 500k per jeep.

One of the stopovers that showcases the leftover ruins from the hot smoke ash from the 2010 eruption. This one has cattle skeletons and a rabbit skeleton on display - word has it 2500 cattle perished, tens of thousands of chicken and quails and other livestock. There is a souvenirs shop here selling very nice Jeep tee-shirts for kids to adults sizes, making it a good memory of the jeep ride which is a highlight when touring Merapi.

Omahku Memoriku Museum is part of Lava Tour that provided by local people. "Omahku Memoriku" in english are "My Home My Memory". This place tells us about one of the residents' houses that were affected by the 2010 volcanic eruption.

Quite a dreary and depressing place, especially in the darkness of late evening, where they showcase animals and everyday items that were buried when Mt Merapi erupted. There is even a clock that allegedly stopped when the eruption occurred.

Visiting this reminds us about how magnificent the mother of nature can be. There is no entrance fee but you may donate. This museum usually is one of the place included in the lava tour jeep package.

Village destroyed in 2011 mirapi eruption because commercial, you pay 10.000 per group for entry and maintenance, museum consists of a high official home containing their belongings and animals burned to ashes during eruption. Pictures and newspaper cuttings provide information what happened on 05.11.2011. Visit is usually part of Jeep tour to soak in all the information you probably need 15-20 minutes, buy some overpriced souvenirs (if you want) before you leave
