Balai Pemuda Surabaya, equipped with a mosque, library, museum, and theatre, is a versatile community center often bustling with Japanese pop culture events.

Beautiful places. A lot of people visit this place. Comfort and have good scenery. You can enjoy the Alun Alun Surabaya and after that you can go upstairs to access this place, which is large, open space and fresh air

This museum is unique in Surabaya because it is located under the ground of the city hall. When we enter we feel like we are in the past. Many historical objects and photographs are displayed. A suitable place to study.

Located in the center of the city, a tourist magnet, there's a tourist information center for traveller and visitor. Historic building, existed since colonial age. There's also a library here. However, the portable toilet is really bad and there's a renovation process going on beside its main hall. Overall, this place is a really great place to hang out. Love this place so much.

Very nice historical building. It was a Bioskop that modified so it become a theater. Although it is historical but it is well-maintained yet cozy place.

Alun alun surabaya, or locals call it balai gedung pemuda (youth hall). Old building vibes but feels modern with contemporary design.

This place after get renovated has many new spot to visit and to be photographed. The basement part is one of those. Even it is not fully completed because it has not connected to other site, but this part is fully function as exhibition place. Also for sure for taking photo. The other new part is the foodcourt which located up of the entrance for basement parking area. It serves quite nice phanorama and view. The entrance for the basement part also is a nice spot for taking picture. The area that previously is parking area, now only can be accessed for pedestrian and fully covered by tiles. A brand new place for gather and hangout.

A great place to enjoy a free tour in the city area of Surabaya. Before coming here you have to check the schedule first because there is one day off a week. This place is perfect for those who like photography because the place is widely available and has a good view. Some photos I have attached in the following review

New face of Balai Pemuda Surabaya. I've left Surabaya for about 5 years and just come back here discover the new Balai Pemuda, different from times ago. Below the building, there is an open space also a skatepark that usually used for art gallery event or etc. And it's free to enter (idk maybe depends to the event). I prefer to visit at night since the light surrounds the building is beautiful. Very calming and enjoy to watch.

My most favorite gabut-time spending in Surabaya! There are many city events/carnavals are held here. The building decorative is a combination of modern and colonial style. On the ground floor you can enjoy the art gallery which are displayed there for the guests.

No toilet at ground floor, only 1 toilet at the basement, which is quite not convenient to access, and there're only 2 urinoir in it.

After renovation, the building of Balai Pemuda Surabaya is better than before. Many events of art held there, such as dance, karawitan, music, performances reog, ludruk, ketoprak. You can check the schedule at the website or visit there. We can get Surabaya travel information at there also. I was really love to watching ludruk which is held every Saturday. The place so comfortable with air conditioned and like movie theater. I often watching reog show at Sunday morning at in front of the building. Usually, on Saturday night, many youth watching live band. Interestingly, all of the performances are for free. Surprisingly, Balai Pemuda have a library for the public with kids corner inside. Beside that, we can join at foreign language classes for free. The location at central of Surabaya. So, it is easily to reach with your own vehicle or public transportation

It was my second visit to this place. My first visit was around last year at the evening. For me, the evening ambiance is more fantastic than in the afternoon.
