We had an amazing day out snorkelling with Lombok Authentic Tours. Although Chris was not there, his crew took great care of us. The secret Gilis tour brought us to numerous unspoilt coral reefs where there weren’t anyone around except for ourselves. I’ve never seen such a variety of vibrant coral and sea life. We spotted a sea snake, a turtle, huge triggerfish, schools of trumpetfish, many large clownfish and a seahorse, not to mention the thousands of colourful small fish surrounding us. They also provide full face snorkel masks which are very helpful for kids who never snorkelled before. Amir and Rizki took charge of our kids, guiding them and bringing them to see so many sights that even our youngest who can’t swim is enthralled and forgot his fear of deep water. Pak Toto who drove us was also very obliging in making stops for us to look for bug balm. We would love to do this tour again if we are here next time.

Our snorkeling tour was one of my best days ever traveling and made possible with Chris’s philosophy of taking people to the spots that are special without crowds. We snorkeled at 5 spots that had the most colorful and lively reefs I’ve ever seen. They were full of marine life and we even got to swim with turtles. No other tour groups in sight. Chris was a great host who is very funny and full of great stories. He showed us his incredible home and even gave fresh Aloe Vera that was magical for my sunburn. All in all this whole day was filled with details that went above and beyond the normal day your experience. He gave my wife and I an Indonesia honeymoon memory made for the movies.

We took a day tour around the south gilis, and it was a great experience that we would repeat without a doubt. Chris and his team were super friendly from the pickup throughout the hole trip and till the end, providing us with water, lunch and various snacks. This is more than a snorkeling tour. It felt like a diving immersion, the coral reef 🪸 was so alive. I have done different snorkeling tours and diving before and this time was definitely one of the best underwater life that I have seen. There were lots of colorful coral, different kind of fish, turtles and even a sea horse. We also had a lot of fun jumping into the ocean. Everything we ate was good. We had the most incredible day out with Authentic Lombok Tours snorkeling the remote Southern Gilis. We stopped at 5 different stops and saw pristine coral gardens, thousands of fish, a reef shark, turtles, sea horse and so much more. Everywhere we went we were the only boat there and felt like we had the whole ocean to ourselves. Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour such an awesome experience. We just did a tour with Chris and his team, the price is higher than some other tours but it is the quality experience you get from the tour that makes it unique. They will take you to incredible spots (you won't see other tours there ) with the best untouched coral, fish, turtles, seahorses it's unbelievable. High quality equipment including full face snorkelling masks, and a foreigner owner who joins you on the trip who is knowledgeable and funny. Chris's boat guys are best in the business and will help and guide you in the water every step of the way. Even guests with very little swimming or snorkelling skills or confidence, will be well cared for and shown new skills to last a lifetime. What can I say that hasn’t been said before, Chris and his team are amazing!!! When Chris said we would have the time of our life snorkelling I was skeptical but he delivered. We went to the smaller gili islands where we got to see and play with sea turtles and sea horses. My family and I found it an amazing experience and we spent a day with a humble man who has a massive heart x Til next time Chris :)

Good cooking class and nice garden

Having been warned about the mass crowds and almost engineered snorkelling activities around the more famous Gilli T, Air and Meno we wanted to try to snorkel in quieter more natural waters. We chose Chris based on his amazing reviews, which I can honestly say after spending the day with him and his team would be a 6 or 7 stars if they would let me award that many! The Gilli’s Chris uses are down the south of Lombok and we were truly spoilt with the most amazing coral reefs, tropical fish, seahorses and the amazing close up company of turtles! The spots Chris has carefully selected over the years are out of this world, and it truly felt like another world when in the water. His team continually guide you, picking out hidden gems in the reefs, showing you lobsters, sea snakes and an array of underwater wildlife amongst the vast amount of tropical fish. To top it off they film the day for you and send them through at the end as a keepsake of the day. During the day we did not see another snorkeller and it was just us and the ocean throughout. Included was transport to and from hotel, food on route, drinks throughout and an amazing lunch on a tropical island included. Chris, who is such an interesting and charming host who has led such a varied and amazing life to date even stopped off at a market on the way back to help me get spices and other items we had used earlier that week at his cooking class (another amazing day too!!) if you book one trip on Lombok this must be it, but why would you limit it to one on such a beautiful island.

My family went to LOMBOK for the first time and contacted Authentic Lombok tours. We had an awesome snorkelling experience with my Man Chris and his team (Amir & Riski). My kids 8/9 yrs old had their first snorkelling without life jackets in open sea. They were not expert swimmers but Amir & Riski made sure they were safe and experience to swim with a lot of fish / coral and reefs. Chris made sure we all had a good time.

Best trekking tour in Lombok. They'll make sure that you're having a great time from the moment you land in Lombok until the moment you leave. And especially while at top of RInjani. We were a group of 7 so had 2 guides who managed to guide as well even as we split in 3 groups at times due to different trekking speeds. If you're going to RInjani, you'll be having an amazing time no matter what, but with Authentic Lombok, you'll make sure it's exceptional and without any bad surprises. An icebox of beers waiting for you at the end of the trek makes a very big impact :D makes you push on with ease even when you're at the end of the 2nd day :D

What Chris allowed us to witness and experience became one of the most beautiful experiences in our lives! Insanely beautiful and healthy corals, huge variety of different fish species, being on a literal date with a sea horse, and to top it off swimming together with turtles. I booked the tour for the 5 secret gilis and I couldn’t have made a better choice. Chris was amazing, he brought breakfast and snacks for the trip and provided us with a delicious lunch. We could see sea-turtles, blue starfishes and seahorses and we spent some time on a beach were there were no tourists. I would recommend this excursions to anyone. They took us to wonderful spots with beautiful corals, fishes, and we got a chance to swim with sea turtle ! I have been on many snorkeling trips but this one is amazing. What sets this tour apart from the rest is the crew. The owner Chris is passionate and makes sure that you have a great time. He makes jokes throughout the day, takes pictures and videos of you, gives great information, and makes sure that you are safe. You see many fishes, turtles, sea horses, starfish and coral. We went to different islands with beautiful water and views. The tour is in small groups or you have the option to pay extra for a private tour. Full face masks are provided which makes snorkeling even better. This was an amazing experience that I will remember forever!

Here are a few key words to describe this tour: Honest, Authentic, Personable, and Unique. I came across this tour company when we impulsively decided to do a Balinese cooking class. I found out there's one near our hotel called Anggrek Cooking Class. After reading their positive reviews, I messaged their WhatsApp number which led me to Chris. From the very beginning - communication with Chris was effortless and very easy to talk to. He provided a lot of information and transparency but he was not at all pushy. When he picked us up, it felt like meeting a dear friend that we haven't seen in a long time. Conversations flow so easily, we were laughing and having a great time. Chris and Dewi welcomed us into their homes as we began the cooking class. You can review all their positive reviews and even my review for their amazing cooking class on Google or TripAdvisor. We enjoyed the experience with Chris so much, we decided to go ahead and book the beach and culture tour with him for the following day. He explained how the tour was going to be and even gave us information on who our driver is going to be for that day. The day of our beach and culture tour, we felt taken care of by the driver - Toto(?). He was patient and went at our speed. He introduced us to the traditional markets where locals go to buy their produce, fish and meat. Then he showed us to two beautiful beaches - Selong Balanek and Tanjung Aan. We did skip some of the things on the itinerary because we were getting kind of tired, to which Toto had no problem accommodating for. Chris and Toto made sure we were comfortable and we were taken care of. The night prior, I was hesitant with going through the beach and culture tour because the weather app said it was going to rain. I tried to change it to the day after, to which Chris replied with his own advice. - don't trust the weather app and just go on the day that's originally planned. And he even suggested if it rains, the driver will return us and we can try again the next day without additional charge. And I am glad I took his advice! Because when we went, there was no rain at all during the morning market and two beach trips. My boyfriend was able to even surf at the first beach we went to. The beaches were beyond beautiful - warm water, very white sand, and no rocks/shells. It felt like heaven and I didn't want to leave. The level of effort, passion, and hospitality that Chris and his team brings is unmatched. They made us feel completely safe and comfortable while having a great time.
