Highly unprofessional staff and owner, lack even basic courtesy and hospitality. Probably that’s the reason they price it lower to remain relevant. Would recommend not booking this property rather spending few hundreds extra and look for other nearby properties to ensure your trip remains hassle-free. They cancelled our confirmed booking 1 hour before the check-in time by sending an email (not even a phone call or sms) On asking for allowing some shade outside the reception in open area to find some other hotel, they even didn’t allow us enter citing their covid policy. As if by standing in open passage 20-30m away from the main building would cause covid to them. We literally have to stand on roadside for 30m before arranging another hotel, not to mention enough to screw our experience of travelling to amazing city of Bhopal.

If you want to experience the culture of Bhopal, to enjoy the beauty Bhopal has to offer and to meet some amazing people then Bistar Hostels is the place for you. Shaurya, our wonderful host ensured that he spent time with us to help us plan our Bhopal trip and had the most amazing suggestions for restaurants! He shared about the places where we'll get good breakfast, good coffee and amazing street food in old Bhopal. It was wonderful having firechats about Bhopal and the culture of MP with him. We learnt a lot about the place. Sadly, we only stayed in Bhopal for 2 days but we'll be back to spend time to enjoy the Lakeview and the sound of birds at the hostel. Best Thing: They have dorms as well as a private room at affordable rates. So feel free to book the stay that works for you. Even Better: You get amazing homemade food. Must try the Pizza here!!!

I visited Bistar Hostels in January. The best part about the place is the location. I mean, damn the view. You wake up seeing the sunrise at the lake, which is so surreal. All the tourist attractions and the main markets are pretty close by. During my stay there I also got a chance to attend an open mic on World Mental Health Day. It was quite fun to interact with some great people, listen to good music and light up a bonfire. The rooms are also pretty clean and the host is very helpful. We used to order breakfast and some meals. The breakfast especially was amazing! Home-cooked, tasty and top-quality (the host is also a professional chef!). It was a pleasant stay for us and we're hoping to go back once it's safer to travel!

This is going to be my weekend destination for the next two years. Just loved this place. Peaceful location having lake view and have lots of touristic place nearby. Spotted some colourful birds here. Owner of this hostel is really polite and friendly. I must recommend this place for every backpacker.

The hostel lies in the heart of Bhopal, adjacent to the Upper Lake. It's a beautiful, cosy and uber cool space in a safe and posh locality plus it's available at a reasonable tariff for tourists, backpackers and working professionals alike. The place is walking distance from most of the tourist attractions. The host is available 24/7 for suggestions on places to visit, local knick-knacks and ofcourse lip-smacking food. Brownie points for beautiful dining and bon fire setup in the garden 👏👏 Would definitely come back whenever next in Bhopal and highly recommend this.

Bistar turned out to be saviour in Bhopal, where I found great hospitality, amazing homemade food and an incredible host, Shaurya! Bistar Hostel at Bhopal is undoubtedly the best place to stay at Bhopal. Visited during 6 to 12 January 2021 and the memories are still alive. This is located at Shymala Hills near Bharat Bhavan. You can reach here in 20 Minutes from the Raja Bhoj International Airport and 10 Minutes from Bhopal Junction Railway Station. Area is peaceful and views are exceptional. You would hardly found any location anywhere in the world with such a breathtaking view from inside the hostel and that too in a budget value. Location is adjacent to Upper Lake of Bhopal which always gives you sense of calm and relaxation from the garden inside. Let’s talk about food. The breakfast is exceptional. The menu is available on the website. I personally loved the Stuffed parathas with White butter, Amla pickle and a Coffee. That was the most satisfying comfort food and I still crave that. Poha is also another option you can try while being there as this is one of the famous breakfasts in Madhya Pradesh. For international travelers there are plenty of options like Aglio E Olio pasta, Pancakes, Mezze Platter, Variety of coffees, Tea etc. Coffee is too good. All the credit goes to Mr. Shaurya Sehgal. Hi Shaurya ! Hope you are doing well. I would call him the Ambassador of Bhopal. He has immense knowledge about the city that you would be surprised. He seems to be shy but you just have to connect with him. Overall I had a great stay and I definitely recommend Bistar Hostels. Go book.

It's the best hostel experience I have had while staying in Bhopal. The staff is like family. They will go beyond the line to help you and make your stay a memorable one. During my stay, the team of Bistar had organised pizza workshop, city tour and trek to Amargarh waterfall. You literally have a ton of options to get comfortable and enjoy your stay. The nights are even better with jamming, movies and fun games which you can play in the hang out area. At Bistar, everyone to spend the night together and share about themselves which was awesome. It's clean, healthy and hygienic environment. Breakfast are awesome and it has a kitchen from where you can order anything to eat and drink. It's 3KM from Bhoapl railway Station. Market, Mall and city centre is nearby and staff will help you with the transportation, aswell.

This place has given us memories to be nurtured forever we were here at this place during 30th of December 2020 to 2nd jan 2021,we were here for the new year eve to spend our time away from crowd and daily life's work stress, this place have done justice to our expectations,this place has a really great view, a bonfire, barbecue, a dining place to eat with natural ambience, a hammock to chills and read, really a must visit place for friends hang-out and romantic evenings.

Bistar hostels is a really pretty and beautiful property, which is easily accessible from most of the prime tourist attractions in Bhopal. The host is a chilled out, fun guy, whose warm hospitality makes you feel like home. Had an amazing stay. Ideal for partying, work or just a laid back vacation.

I am an architect and love exploring the history, culture and magnificent architecture of places around the world. Bhopal was one of those on the list to explore as it is mainly underrated destinations of today and I wonder why? Bistar Hostels was my place of long stay in the city and was not only left in an awe but also in a better financial state due to my budget constraints. The sense of calmness by the lake (happens to be the oldest man-made lake in the country) and the lush green surrounding, makes it the perfect setting in the city. You can literally hear birds, squirrels that you wake up to in the morning and served with delighted coffee. There's not only much to explore in the city but also are places nearby such as the two UNESCO sites - Sanchi Stupa and Bhimbetka Rock Shelters. Bistar Hostels was one of the finest stays that I've had by so far in the country and shall be eager to get back soon.

I visited the place in December and celebrated New Year here. I had an amazing experience and I just can't wait to go back there! The view from up there was so beautiful! The host, Shaurya, made sure that our group was always comfortable and having a nice time! He even got us homecooked brownies and god they were delicious!

I stumbled upon Bistar Hostels online and ever since then wanted to come here. I must tell you, that it lives up to its expectations. Never did I Imagine a location such as this property and not just that, but also to see the wanderlust side of the city. The host showed us not only around the city but also took us on tours to historic and must visit locations around. Bhopal has a lot more history, architecture and culture more than one can expect. The hostel is centrally located and faces the main lake of the city, out of its 17 others. A must recommend to those who love slow travel or wish to just work sitting around in the property 🙂.

One of my favourite hostels so far! I've never felt so at home at a hostel before. It's a whole other vibe and the host (who's also a professional chef) ensured we ate the best food, saw the hidden unseen treasures of Bhopal and even played the guitar for us! It's in the prime area of Bhopal which makes it safe and accessible. It's an amazing place that fortunately isn't commercialised like the others today. Jack of all trades I guess. I'd definitely recommend everyone to visit Bistar Hostels at least once.

Bistar has my heart. For every traveler there's a feeling to explore something new and to add in their bucket list, Bhopal is the one I added in my list. Whilst traveling to Madhya Pradesh I came across this place through Google maps and realized that this is the one I was looking for since ages. The place is really beautiful. We stayed at their Private suite. It has a king size and a washroom within the room and the view of the lake is a plus point. And the the porch side of the room is a cute setup for two, overlooking the lake and where you can spend time reading books + sipping on tea. Lake view road and Van vihar national park are quite nearby to this place, at a 5mins distance which is a plus point. They have cafe within the property. Apart from that they have the best movie nights, pancakes, amazing maggi and Pizzas. Incase, you're a solo traveler they have bunk beds at a very decent price. But at last I will highly recommend this place because it has that vibe which everyone is looking for. I had a great time here.
