Went by this vegetarian restaurant/take-away earlier today with two friends. The food was delicious! Fresh and not too spicy (unless you want to 😬). And their Mango Lassi ... 🤤 Plus, I haven’t seen anything over 80dkk. Will definitely come by again!

Awesome vegan food for a reasonable price! Definitely worth a visit in Copenhagen. Small but cosy. And guys, that Mango Lassi ❤️

Quite a unique Indian restaurant, in that it’s almost like visiting your best friend for some fantastically hearty and wholesome food. The restaurant itself is quite small, but I get the feeling a lot of customers are local residents who take away. The menu is equally small; each day they cook a couple of different vegan options - and the only thing you have to decide is whether you want a small portion, or to go large! I ordered two small veggie dishes with rice - which was more than adequate. The food was absolutely delicious, as was the accompanying Mango Lassi. Only problem is, they do tend to sell out quite quickly. I arrived at the restaurant around 7pm, and half an hour later they’d already sold out! My advice is to get there early!

The place is not suitable for dinning in. Food has an average quality, and in our case we were told by the waiter/cook that there was only one option for main dish. For starters we ordered samosas. I would not recommend choosing those. They were deep fried. Most likely samosas were frozen and after a while fried. Ending up soaked in oil with zero chrispy elements. The prices are not cheap and the waiter was impolite. In the end he asked us to clean up the table for him. For your information you can not order alcoholic drinks in this place. The average quality of restaurants or street food in Copenhagen is quite good this place is an exemption.

If you are in Copenhagen, this is must visit place. Pure vegetarian restaurant serving delicious Indian food. Most importantly, for people like me, they have Jain Food options available. Owner is very kind and accommodating. I will definitely visit again this place.

My all time favourite place to go whenever I want to have home made food. It's fresh, yummy and good for health. The destination for vegetarian and even better if one is looking for prasadam.

Finally we got Pure vegetarian and vegan food, satvik, very delicious, freshly prepared and at a very reasonable price in Copenhagen, it was amazing. We are here for a few days to attend a conference and we ate a few times at a few other Indian restaurants but the food was not good, we were not getting satisfied. Finally yesterday we got so tasty, satvik / pure vegetarian/ vegan food which not only satisfied the body but also mind. One of my friends requested additional Daal and even curd, which was very courteously provided to him and the restaurant's owner did not charge extra for that ! Food here is really the Prasad of Sri Krishna, which we get to receive while hearing the holy chant of Hare Krishna, Hare Rama mantra. This quality, taste and purity is rare even at many places in India. In Bangalore too I don't find such food everywhere, so it is truly exceptional to have it in Copenhagen. Thank you very much for this service of serving pure vegetarian / Vaishvava food as Prasad of Sri Krishna! // Hare Krishna //

I was so happy to find a vegetarian/vegan restaurant just on the other side of the street from our flat in Copenhagen. The food is very very good, I liked the fact that everyday there is a different offer and you don't have to think too much about which dish is better to choose because you just take the dishes of the day, so it is a really relaxing and cuddling experience. Even if it is mainly take away there is also room if you want to eat there and that is what we did, and we really appreciated this opportunity. Highly recommended :)

This is a little vegan gem! Delicious curries, reasonably priced, fast and healthy! Menu varies each week, 2 curries & rice for kr 100. No frills but you don’t need them.

End of the first week in Copenhagen and I looked for Indian food. With my extensive travelling around the globe, I am certain that bigger, popular cities have ISKCON temple and Govinda restaurant. Found this after a long walk but felt like home the moment I stepped in- hindi language, very polite and courteous reception and amazingly healthy food. But I also had friend samosas- although worth the effort.

I had known this place from Too Good to Go as one of my favourites - and decided to dine in with a few vegetarian friends who were visiting CPH. 😊 While the menu is simple (choosing the size of the dish rather than choosing between many different dishes) we all very much enjoyed the home-cooked-style meal and also very much enjoyed the cozy feeling of being-at-someone’s-home atmosphere. The service was outstanding despite it getting super busy with the take-outs in the evening. We had a very relaxing evening with great vegetarian food. ❤️ Definitely NOT a place for meat-lovers and people who prefer the monotonous Scandinavian-interior-design places you usually get in the city. 😉 Also, I loved the fact that there is no overwhelming menu to choose from - but if you go out and expect a lot of options, then this might not be for you.

This is the cutest little spot with amazing Indian food and hospitable host! They serve home like Indian food and after a long time I ate Indian food which was so soul satisfying. The food is perfect for anyone, because its not very spicy and at the same time very tasty, satisfying and healthy. Will definitely continue to visit!

A special place. Tasty and healthy food. Nice people. Three reasons why we ate here three nights in a row. Highly recommented. Not eating there means missing something in your staying in Copenhagen.

For a pure vegetarian with many restrictions like me, traveling in a European country like Denmark comes with the added challenge of not being able to find a trusted and reliable place to eat food. I came to Copenhagen about a week back for exhibiting at a conference and struggled to eat for a couple of days, after which I managed to find Govinda. I have traveled over 8 km every day each way to have food that is healthy, yummy, and purely vegetarian with a good number of vegan options for those who prefer it. I strongly recommend the place for those who care to eat reliable and delicious vegetarian or vegan food.

Amazing food! Vegan and delicious for everyone. This is the place I would feel ok eating at least once a week. The homemade character of the dishes makes them perfect for a lazy take away without the guilt. Very friendly staff too. I can not recommend this place enough.

I have been in Copenhagen for a month now and i love to explore different Indian restaurants here. Liked almost all of them but fell in love with Govinda. Being a vegetarian south india, the food here was just awesome for my palate and my stomach. All the other places try to make food a lot spicier and me being fond of spice couldn't eat daily in those places. At Govinda, i had dinner everyday for a week. The taste is very homely, portions are right, ambience is good and icing on the cake are the awesome hosts, nothing over the top; feels like family. Though the menu is small, only vegetarian (not that i complain) the taste and the overall experience makes it up for it. PS: Don't miss their delicacy called 'Kugleguf' with carob powder. Leaving today from Copenhagen with a promise to visit this place again. Definitely recommend it.

Best Indian vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Denmark. All dishes are so delicious, tastes like cooked in temple. Most of all welcoming and nice ambiance. Must try.

Amazing kuglegufs. They’re, by far, the most delicious thing I’ve ever had. Not to mention how nice the stuff is every time I go to get my kugleguf dose. 6 out of 5 stars for me.

This place is normally really good, but today was a complete fail. Their too-good-go offer is not in spirit with the concept and certainly not what was advertised. When politely questioning this, I was basically told to go away. Disappointing..

This is healthy, simple and tasty Indian food. They use "home-style cooking" without all the cheap oil and heavy frying you'll find at many other restaurants. The spice level is low to moderate, but the flavor is full and rich and genuinely Indian. Highly recommended.

I have tasted a lot of Indian cuisine in my time and this is by far the least oily! I'm not Indian so I wouldn't know if it's authentic, but judging by the people who buys from this spot, it probably is. So so flavorsome, healthy and it's also veggie. Perfect for vegans as well. The store is quite small but the food is definitely worth it. I've been here twice in 2 weeks. Never disappointed. Staff? Amazing people. The owner is super kind, recommends me great food. Price? Dude you can't have this great Indian food at this price anywhere else in Copenhagen. Homemade, fresh and carefully spiced.

The food was super tasty, staff was friendly. Unfortunately you get everything in cardboard boxes for one time use - I don't like eating out of those plus it's bad for the environment. That is sad for a place that should be caring about these things. Also the card payment didn't work and they didn't have sufficient change for cash.. that seemed a bit careless. We ended up paying in euros.

Small cozy space that is filled with mouth-watering aromas of spices as you walk in! Staff (owner I think) was incredibly welcoming with a warm smile. I personally think that it can be difficult to find delicious, authentic and affordable Indian food in Copenhagen but Govinda delivers all three and more. Will definitely eat here again!

Unfortunately the quality of the food has gone down a lot since it was the Hare Krishna movement(of which I am not affiliated) that owned it. The amount of sauce in the vegetable dishes are very small. They use too much salt and chili in the food which are not in harmony with a satvic diet. The restaurant is a little messy as well. Don't think I will eat here again unless I hear of radical improvements.
