Experienced the best Bengali cuisine, being in Chennai! Welcome drink was good๐Ÿ˜Š. Hilsha sorshe and Vetki paturi was heavenly!! Mutton biryani was yummyliciousโค๏ธ Dim kosha was delicious ๐Ÿ˜ On the whole food was tasty but not oily, this is what is expected by health conscious individuals. Dine in ambience was like home, with lots of natural breezeโค๏ธ Only con was unavailability of lift, so if you have knee issue do use home delivery option. Otherwise this restaurant is a PARADISE for FOODIES of Bengal ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Best bengali food restaurant in South Chennai - Perungudi & Navalur. Slightly more costly than Bengali Fun Foods restaurant which is on the ground floor in the same area.

I ordered a katla meal from Nostalgic Kolkata yesterday. The food was good till I open the fish package. The fish was raw and totally not worth the money they charged. You don't expect this kind of service while paying Rs 279 for a katla meal. I hope they take this review seriously and improve. It was so unexpected from Nostalgic Kolkata. I did call them to complain, but no one picked up the call. I had to throw away the fish, which is the hardest thing for any bengali to do, specially while living here in Chennai.

I ordered one plate of Basanti Pulao and chicken kosha. I found three strands of hair in my food. When I called the owner to complain, not only did he not accept his mistake, he started quarrelling with me. Wouldn't recommend at all

Good place for bengali foods. Biriyani is available only on sundays that too on limited quantity on first come basis. Food items are little over priced. Taste wise is superb. AC is not available in the resturant.

It was my first time visit and it was very poor experience. Ordered Mutton Kosha and roti meal. Mutton kosha was good but roti's were extremely cold and hard. Complained about the same multiple times to the Manager, he didn't take any initiative to provide hot fresh rotis and also didn't response back or apologized. Very poor service, must work on providing fresh food to its customers or else loose business. Must hire better staff and work on improving food quality.

Just received an order of Pulao and mutton with 2 pathetic miniature mutton bones with no meat on them. AND here's the surprise! A dead bug in their stale and smelly Misti Doi ! Who are these people rating them 5 and 4 stars ?? What a blot on the name of Calcutta. Feeding people rubbish in the name of Bengali food. Post owner's reply; Are you saying we placed a bug and then photographed the curd and then reviewed you on google abd then on zomato because we have ALL that time ?? Pls dont flatter youselves. When someone takes the time out to review, it is because either the food is really good or really bad. It's funny you haven't mentioned other points; about the stale ( in addition to contaminated ) curd and the meatless miniature mutton pieces. Well many people in the reviews have mentioned a rude and intolerant owner, checks out. And yes, we have sent a separate mail to Zomato about the contamination.

One of the best Bengali restaurant in South Chennai. Having lived here from 2004 to 2008 there was a dearth of good Bengali restaurant in Chennai. Come 2023 and when I moved here for a project I was thrilled to find this place. Though havenโ€™t visited the restaurant and I have been ordering frequently since last 3 months and the quality of food is amazing. Must try are their luchi, kosha mangsho and their thalis. Every dish tasted just like any other restaurant in WB or Kolkata. This place can beat the other Bengali food joints in Bamgalore and having lived there for 15 yrs I can confidently say this. Continue the good service and quality.

This was an unexpected find in Chennai. The food tastes just how it should. The quality and quantity both are really good. Price may be a little bit expensive, but in my opinion it's totally worth it.

The taste and flavour is good. It can be a good Kolkata restaurant. Buy rice. For 3 it would cost around 400. Chill and up in Temperature. But my only fault is that I need to climb 3 or 4 floors. Or else its good to patch up

A good hotel to dine in if you're searching for a place with Bengali meals . It may be difficult to find because it is located on the 2nd floor of a building .

Great option for Bengali foods. Me and my friends frequently order from NK. Always love the taste and quality of food is very good. I would like to mention few item which I liked the most which are Mutton duckbunglow, Biriyani,Dahi chicken etc. I prefer this option for any get together in Chennai.

Simple ambience, delicious authentic bengali food. Some dishes like one piece pabda curry Rs. 329 , veg thali Rs. 189 is exorbitant we felt. But the veg thali all the items were really tasty. Decent staff, overall good experience.

Nice Place for Bangali food in Chennai city. Best Experience North Indian food in South India. All Facilities are good. But Have to improve in food serving. Food are really nice. I want to try again.

Awesome taste. The food was nicely cooked and the authenticity of the dishes were also maintained. They are amongst the few those serves traditional dishes which are almost extinct. Wish you all the best Nostalgic Kolkata.

Its awesome, authentic Bengali food. Its super delicious. Specially their biriyani and fish dishes. I have tried dine in, take out and delivery, food quality is same. The behaviour of the owner, Arka, is very nice. Highly recommended.

Excellent Bengali food. The egg devil is amazing. Food is very reasonably priced especially compared to Bayleaf. There's a small dining area that's roughly maintained but perfectly serviceable.

Food quality and decorations are very good .... love the test of Bengali and north indian food ... but price is little bit costly.

This is 100% authentic bengali food, had aam panna, mutton kosha, mutton biryani, chicken daakbunglow, payesh, posto, fish finger. All of them were so so good, mutton biryani is better than some of the famous biryani places in Calcutta. All in all, a big thumbs up !!!! The one and only disadvantage is that they are not at all responsive on phone. So if you live nearby and go there to dine or get it by Swiggy, then great. But if you want to dunzo food from them, then hard luck. Have been trying to place order post my visit, but the phone is always unanswered.

In Chennai this is heaven for Bengalis.... The Thalis and the authentic spread of bengali food is commendable... ( one thali is sufficient for two adults). The place is located on the first floor of a dingy aley... With no AC even in the extreme heat of Chennai. Home delivery is the best option if you are longing for authentic bengali recepies...

In the beginning, the food quality was good, but now they are providing unhygienic foods.
