I needed links taken from a watch I had received as a Christmas present. We arrived at lunchtime and asked to return in an hour. When we did the links were removed and to our delight and surprise we were not charged for the work. I was very impressed and both the girls we spoke to were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Went into store and was dealt with by zara , she was very helpful and sorted my watch very swiftly, I also enquired about a new watch as a fathers day present which she also was very helpful with . Also your store was lovely and cool 😎

Good range of jewellery and watches at decent prices. Staff at Colchester are always very pleasant, patient and helpful. I went in with a broken clasp to a gold chain necklace and it was repaired within minutes at a reasonable cost. Excellent thank you!

I've been in before last year to get my engagement ring and the girl was very helpful so I wanted to return to get my fiance a watch for father's day and we had also gone in to look at wedding rings. On both these occasions we encountered Shelley (Hope I'm spelling your name right sorry!). She was so lovely and happy to help. She helped me make the right choice with the watch and done a great deal for me. We are going in soon to look at wedding rings again and I look forward to hopefully coming across her again. She was honestly amazing and can't thank her enough for all her help

Had a a chain with a bent latch and a watch with a bent latch and a watch with a broken strap. Fixed it for free in 5 minutes with other stores usually charging 30 for each repair. More than happy

I had a great experience with the girls esp the manager. I lost a stone in my ring and was very emotional about it. The staff put me at ease gave me tissues and sent it off to be fixed. On collecting the ring the manager asked if she could give me a hug as they were happy I was over the moon to get my ring back. They then helped my choose my wedding band. The girls and manager at Colchester are very friendly and passionate about what they do. A true asset to the company. I was treated with dignity and compassion in a time that was distressing for me. Came into the store today to collect an item that had been re- plated. Firstly the ring looked like new so very happy. I also took advantage of the free clean which was amazing, my rings sparkled again. I was served by Zara, who was fabulous , very helpful and just lovely to be served by. H Samuel Colchester are very lucky to have Zara working for them. I have to say that the other members of staff were very friendly too.

Came here two/three years ago when I purchased an engagement ring for my fiancée which Zara at H.Samuel helped me pick that out. She was really friendly and very very helpful. Now looking at wedding rings for myself and yet again Zara has been super friendly and helped me narrow my choices of wedding rings. She even cleaned the engagement ring and done a marvellous job. Looks brand new! Would highly recommend Zara at H.Samuel!

I was looking for a piece of jewellery for an old school friend, so not really sure what I wanted... the lady who advised me (Zara) was lovely, very helpful but not pushy..... settled on a silver bracelet. Nice atmosphere.

Truly awful experience. I had a necklace which split due to a pet related incident. Totally expected, totally fine. I got it fixed. First time wearing it it just dropped off for no reason. It had just snapped in the same spot. I took it back to get fixed. Over £80 total fix spend. I then went to pick it up. I don’t enjoy being in town and was quite anxious and agitated (especially as the store was closed for lunch so I had to wait). I went in, handed over my receipt, a necklace was brought out - yep, rose gold chain - took it quickly to get out of there and went home. Upon putting it on, something wasn’t right - it was too long. I then looked closer (you had to study it close to see) and realised the makeup of the chain was different. Mine was more of a spiral and this wasn’t. Upon contacting the store I was told it was my fault for not pointing out it was wrong when I was given it but this was not at all obvious until you studied it. I’m sorry to have assumed a huge company would get things right! I was told mine was lost and they wouldn’t do anything about the necklace. They even expressed doubt when I said this wasn’t mine which was very rude. So now 1) mine is lost 2) this was a gift from my husband on our first Christmas and is hugely sentimental 3) I’ve got someone else’s necklace so someone else is out there missing one 4) I’ve paid lots in repair costs to end up without my necklace 5) it’s all my fault apparently!!!! Or I’m lying??!! The lady offered to resize my wedding rings back when I brought the necklace in (not an hsamuel product) and thank god I said no!! I’m still waiting for my refund on repair costs, some kind of compensation for my missing necklace (I feel I should be able to swap the imposter necklace I’m left with for another one to replace the lost necklace) and an apology. I went to a consumer support service who contacted hsamuel on my behalf and I’ve never heard anything. So angry and such shameful service. Accidents happen, if it’s lost it’s lost, but the response has been shocking.

I went to h Samuel last week with the plan to buy a diamond ring for my fiancé. Although I didn’t end up buying the ring at this particular store, I was offered some advice and help by one of the staff members, who I believe was called Zara. She was very knowledgeable and patient with me and I would definitely recommend this jewellers.

The team were incredibly friendly and great, helped with the multiple pieces of jewellery for me and my husband that we purchased and even cleaned + polished my engagement, wedding and eternity rings! Looking forward to going back.

Absolutely awful customer service. Ordered there earrings T. Hillfinger, good price, for collection in store. They sold me unsealed earrings! Looking back I clearly understand that customer assistant knew it, seen it but said not even a word. When later I decided to return earrings for refund, they told me that unsealed earrings are not accepted for refund! Do you understand trick? Feel absolutely angry and used, treated as a fool. Never go back and highly not recommend to have a deal with such a dishonest and unprofessional people. Assistance on site is useless. They tell you general phrases from instructions. They not care at all. If you step in this shop be sure you are aware and strong enaugh to deal with people who want to fool you up! Record your conversation with them and make picture to of everything you buying from them . Be ready for dishonest service.

Joe and oli were really helpful when I walked in as it was my first time buying a ring, gave me suggestions what to buy and how long the duration of rings last which was really helpful. Brought my first ring with these guys. I would highly recommend coming to buy rings.

I recently purchased a watch from the store and staff were extremely helpful and knowledgable of the product. I was served by Zara very polite and couldn’t do enough to help me make the right choice of watch that suited me.

No help offered from any of the 3 members of staff in the store. They preferred chatting amongst themselves. So I left.

What an awful experience so far.... Price discrepancy initially, but resolved, item had a stone missing. Ordered another in store for 'next day' home delivery(Friday before bank holiday admittedly) nothing by the following Wednesday, no call from the colchester team to advise. Called myself to be told none available, its a system glitch, and can order a larger size to be resized. Had decided it was to long to wait, due to being for a birthday. Visited store today, sign up saying closed due to shutter fault(it was almost fully up less 6 inches!! Called the store, however, clearly the almost fully open shutter stops them from answering the phone as well. A disgrace.
