AVOID AT ALL COSTS - booked 3 nights through Airbnb - stayed 1 night under duress (distance of travel, time of arrival, no where else to stay that night) Ended up booking elsewhere & leaving early the very next morning. Russell didnโ€™t provide check in information (though it was easy enough check in) he didnโ€™t answer messages through Airbnb, didnโ€™t answer calls but did texts. The water went off twice in 12hrs (he did sort it straight away though), the private road to access the cottage is terrible. The pool - I mean green water pool, say no more! I could go on, but I think the pictures speak for themselves โ€ฆโ€ฆ. Update - we have received a refund from Airbnb straight away

We stayed here last weekend, after a long journey we pulled up to find the cottage had not been cleaned to a high standard. The glasses were filthy and needed washing before anyone could drink from them. The lawn was over grown and the garden uncared for. After deciding to give the place the benefit of the doubt we decided to get on with our break. Later, on the first night I went to cut my birthday cake for everyone only to find it was covered in ants (100's) and had to be put in the bin. The fridge door shelves were all broken and the coffee machine had mouldy old coffee in. To top this all off we went for a swim on Saturday morning , only to be greated by an algae ridden pool with a broken cover. Not impressed at all, this place has the potential to be lovely but feels as though owners have got bored.

Over the past year we have stayed in all the cottages here. We have found them all very comfortable and welcoming. The kids have loved having a swimming pool which when booked you have to yourself and hot tubs in each property are a great bonus. Lovely fishing lake on site to walk around and get to meet the friendly donkey and goat en route. My 5 year old has even caught his first fish here!! Owners are very friendly and helpful and help immediately with any issues you may have. Local pub (2min walk away) is also very good very family and pet friendly with good cheap food. I would most definitely recommend these properties.

Had a lovely weekend break here with my husband and 3 children, they really enjoyed the heated pool to themselves, my 2 boys and husband loved that there was fishing on site and caught plenty of fish. We had our very own hottub in the garden which even in this weather was amazing !! And the cottage was lovely warm and relaxing, had a lovely welcome pack for us when we arrived , the owners were very accommodating really lovely family, will definitely be visiting again ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

I stayed in Old Mill Cottage with my wife and 20 month year old daughter. Really enjoyed it. Cottage was always really warm (the underfloor heating was nice) and the private outdoor hot tub was fantastic in the evenings. We also loved the onsite pool. Lots of room in the cottage. Overall a relaxing 4 days. Location was good for exploring the peninsular. Ness Botanical Gardens is worth a visit.

Just returned from staying at the Old Mill cottage, had an absolute fantastic weekend. The cottage was to a high standard specification and we enjoyed the โ€˜homely feelโ€™ too, the hot tub was a great treat and we felt like we were secluded from the rest of the world. Welcome pack of tea and coffee was much needed after weโ€™d travelled from all ends of the Country to meet up and the contact between seller was helpful in advance of the weekend and then again once we arrived to ensure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a mini break, in an area which has so much to offer or simply of you just want a little RnR! Thank you, we will be visiting again soon.

Lovely and tranquil We stayed in Barnacre Green Cottage and for the first time and it was lovely! Courtyard recently redone to a high standard, with a private outdoor hottub with easy access to the pool and indoor hottub. (Pool was beautifully warm so none of that dipping your toe in and getting use to that) Owners were very welcoming and happy to accomodate us! Nothing was too much. The cottage has an atmosphere of being in the middle of no where yet there are lots of beaches incredibly close and Liverpool was half an hour away so we still had access to everything to keep the kids entertained!! Will definitely come again!

We had no complaints at all about this place really. Me and a few friends went up earlier in the year and had a fantastic time. The swimming pool was wonderful (helped we were right by it) the hottubs were also luxurious and the location was very good. Was the perfect place we needed to go chill out and relax for a weekend whilst enjoying a few drinks. Would 100% recommend

My housemates and I recently stayed for a weekend and loved the experience. The shippon barn is gorgeous, all the facilities such as the private hot tub, swimming pool and sauna were amazing. The grounds are gorgeous and it's so close to Liverpool. Can't wait to book again!

Had a great stay here. Good communication with hosts who went out of their way to ensure we had a good time. Great facilities. Loved the pool and having our own hot tub was a lovely touch.

3 very small bedrooms. Mattress on top bunk all ripped Needs sofas hovering. No welcome basket. Expensive for what you get.

Lots of lovely tasty meats. Took a bit of time to bring fries which were unlimited. But ended up only having 1 bowl. Lovely fresh salad bar lots of choice.
