Very poor Doctor with zero manners plus poor staff always tiered long time i have bad experience with this doctor and his staff the same i face today this time i will report in health board straight away

He called to my grandmother's house 9 years ago to give her the flu injection, the woman was dead a year and a half. He left my mother in a terrible way giving her the wrong tablets and telling her that everything was in her head. Lucky she now has a GP that listens to her. Not to mention the fact that i meet Dr Scanlon three years ago in the horrors drunk in Athlone. He was calling me over to him and I pretened I didn't know him. I know a woman who has since passed away and before she did , she left a note to say that he misdiagnosed her cancer. He should have been struck off years ago. Also closing the door on patients and not sorting out another doctor for his patients. Total disgrace of a doctor who should be held accountable for his wrong doings

I've been with Dr Declan Scanlon ever since 2005. 2020 was the last time I have ever spoken to him. 2 years now I have had seen Locum doctors and all his patients had to see Locum doctors instead of himself. Dr D. Scanlon is never in his surgery for 2 years and now he doesn't want to help patients on Medical Card Scheme anymore that's why everyone now with Dr.D.Scanlon and on Medical Card Scheme is getting written a letter to be informed that you are transferred to another GP that accepts Medical Cards, that felt like I ran blindly into a wall and I had banged my head, after 18 years with him as my GP he doesn't want to treat me anymore because I have Medical Card and he never minded before but he minds now obviously. What's the point for Dr. D.Scanlon to ask his patients now for money only when he is never there anyway because his Locum doctors are working for him and they cash in now his money, then people see Dr Declan Scanlon then drinking in Pubs. Scandalous !!! For his loyal patients like myself waiting patiently for him to return it is the fist in our faces. Maybe its best for every Dr Declan Scanlon patient to leave the sinking ship as long as you can because if he isnt returning this ship is going to sink. From a very disappointed now ex-patient of Dr.DeclanScanlon, to be honest I seen it coming and so it can only get better for me having a new GP that's actually there for me. Yes !!!

Registered with this doctor about a year ago and haven't been able to get through to them to make an appointment a single time. Absolute garbage.

A real disaster of a practice, the receptionist is very rude and the service is very poor. If you're stuck with them, my sympathies to you...

Cathy is so rude to vulnerable and patients. Not a bit of compassion towards people who are in need of support. Avoid this surgery based on Cathy on reception.

Disgraceful doctors. Three times nobody in the building and people with appointments waiting outside with no word from doctor or receptionist as to what's going on.

I joined (mistake) and left as a patient in 2020. Declan was woeful obnoxious and totally lacked empathy towards me and my mental health. The locums were generally good but there were too many! He refused to certify me sick as he regarded mental health as not a legitimate case!!!!! Delighted he’s struck off as I’ve heard really poor things about him from others! Best described as a bucko that got too big for his boots!
