We came for brunch, to be honest I was a little suspicious of the hype. However, from the moment we entered the door, we were greeted with courtesy and excellent service that remained this way throughout our stay. We had a short wait for a table, but this was a good chance to view the menu and decide on what to order. Once at our table, we were able to enjoy the beautiful and surprisingly spacious interior. Food was served quickly and by the politest of servers, and the food that was served was of excellent quality (I particularly recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled egg, with perhaps an almond bun to share for afters). The selection of tea was also very appealing, and we enjoyed the lemongrass and ginger we opted for.

Heartbreak with Hot Chocolate at Bewley's Grafton Street Before that, a short brief note on the cafe itself. I enjoyed the atmosphere here, vibrant ambience. Staff are friendly and helpful. I came in here for a nice Hot Chocolate.  I couldn't find the Hot Chocolate on the menu provided at the table. I asked the waitress, where in the menu Hot Chocolate was, so I am aware of the cost. But the waitress was clueless. Anyways, I ordered a Hot Chocolate without knowing the price; expecting it would be in the range of 4-5 euros. After a short while, the beautifully decorated hot chocolate came to my delight, complete with cream, and marshmellows as sides. The drink was decent enough, tasted normal as everywhere else. Now, here comes the heartbreak -the bill. When it finally arrived, I was taken aback to see that the Hot Chocolate had costed me a whopping €8.40. Yes, you read that correctly, €8.40! This made it, without a doubt, the most expensive Hot Chocolate I've ever come across in Dublin. While I don't want to jump into conclusions, it did feel like a bit of daylight robbery. The absence of Hot Chocolate on the menu, coupled with the staff's inability to provide an explanation, left me puzzled and somewhat disappointed. It might be worthwhile for Bewley's to address this issue, as transparency in pricing is always appreciated by customers. In summary, Bewley's Grafton Street certainly has a wonderful ambiance and friendly staff, but the unexpected price of the Hot Chocolate left a sour taste in my mouth.

So gorgeous cafe in Dublin. When I studied in Dublin, I used to come here for Ice mocha :) They have a really good quality coffee and food :) And there is a piano for romantic mood. When my friend visited me, I always bring them to here! So worth it place, have to come here if you are in Dublin.

My wife and I waited in a bit of a line for breakfast/brunch but it was well worth it! Great coffee! And very yummy food! The avocado toast wasn’t my favorite I’ve had, but it wasn’t bad! My wife’s sandwich was to die for! Definitely a great breakfast/brunch spot!!

Yes, you could save some money and just grab a coffee or even a take away, but why not splurge and immerse yourself in a Dublin icon? This bustling cafe has been in business for nearly 100 years, but the food is fresh and locally sourced. My eggs, avo, rashers and toast were well (and quickly) prepared. Service is pretty good, considering Sunday crowds, and my waitron tried to keep up and check in now and then. Best to book ahead on weekends and holidays, especially if you want a seat near the stunning Henry Clarke stained glass windows.

A nice tea room. There was a short queue and we were seated quite quickly. Enjoyed soup and sandwich followed by delicious cherry bun. There is a takeaway accessed either through the tea room or via side entrance with a good selections of cakes and takeaway drinks. We will be back on next visit to Dublin

Accidental find but perfect. So much so, we went back the next day for another trip. If theres a queue its worth the wait. Quirky decor, friendly staff, lovely food, clean and tidy - always busy, but will definitely return xx

A really nice place to come for a hot chocolate and a cake. The staff were very friendly and knew a lot about what was gluten free on the menu. Cakes were lovely and hot chocolates were presented beautifully! Recommend if you are visiting Dublin.

If you are in Dublin, you have to stop by this legendary place. Definitely my new favorite café!! Warm welcome, excellent coffee (and that’s coming from a coffee snob), charming interior, sophisticated ambience and gorgeous stained glass windows. There is so much history in that unique place. Definitely a must see. Cól and Oscar were amazing! I had a fantastic experience and I will be back for sure next time I’m in Dublin. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

The French pastries are simply delicious! Having lived in France for 20 years, I was amazed to find pastries on Grafton Street in Dublin comparable to the finest I find on Rue Bonaparte in Paris. Steeped history and tradition, yet warm in its welcome, Bewleys is a wonderful spot to pass an hour with friends, or simply to watch the world go by.

It's safe to say that Bewley's have the best scones. I really loved the raspberry & white chocolate scone. All scones are served with clotted cream and berry compote. The interiour is very cozy and welcoming and the staff is very friendly as well.

Lovey light lunch. Nice cup of tea. Delicious eclair. Great service. Love the revamp of the interior. Piped background music can be a bit loud when café is busy. Manager took on board my comment when I was talking to him and he turned volume down. Will be back again.

This historic cafe is a must do while in Dublin. The atmosphere is great the food fresh and well prepared and the staff on on it! The breakfast/brunch options seemed more appealing. Lived getting to see the bakers at work downstairs. It's amazing to thinks it's over 180 years old,no surprise it's still going strong with the quality of food and service. I can't wait for my next visit!

Cakes delicious but portions very small as well as the coffe is served in small cups. They should be more generous since you pay much more than any other place. Service is very good. They gave us a menu but only 4 options were available. That was also disappointed.

If you have never been to Bewley's, you should make a point of having a coffee or dining here. It looks and feels luxurious and the experience is sumptuous. Inside, there is a relaxed atmosphere and the architecture is amazing. You will definitely come again.

Dublins most famous cafe has paid a touching tribute to its most loyal customer to mark his 90th birthday.Beweleys of Grafton Street honoured Dennis Shields 59 yrs after he ordered his first coffee in 1962 The cafe estimate that since then,he has enjoyed more than 30,000 cups and tucked into countless cherry buns on his daily visit .An emotional Mr Shields from Banagher Co Offaly said"This feels like a walk through history,a moment that will live with me until I go to the grave."*The memories are powerful,I have met so many good friends here.On Saturday ,more than three generations off the Shields family shared a Bewlrys birthday cake in Grafton Street. The teetotallers relationship with Bewlrys began in 1962 when he moved to the capital after securing a job in Clerys. He strolled to Bewlrys in Westmoreland STreet fort daily coffee before making Grafton Stress cafe his second home.A bronze sculpture of Denis was made in 1990 and is still displayed at the Gafton Street premises. This article appeared in the Irish Daily Mail September 13th by Cate McCurry.

Feels like old Bewleys again, people relaxing, meeting and chatting. Like the new partitions makes it less canteen like. Service was variable but almond and cherry buns are back to their best.

Coffee is good~ the manager is very hospitality, the serving waitress is perfect, but the supervisor is not OK. The supervisor took our order, but when we finished our breakfast, she passed for several times without taking the plate away. The table was massy, made me feel very uncomfortable, and she just made no eye connection with me. The plate was collected by the manager eventually.

Staff is very good. Congrats on that. Kids hot chocolate is the best my daughter ever had. The full Irish breakfast is not very good. The poached eggs were very small, the black pudding was dry and tasteless, sausages and bacon were cheap and greasy. The bread is not suitable for this dish and the chutney is not needed.

So pretty and vintage. The staff stays very busy. I suggest getting you name on the waitlist and walking around the shops. The food is delicious, they only make one type of egg (poached). The Americana was very delish. The pastries look divine. The jam and butter are soooo good, I wished I could've brought some home with me. They don't rush you to leave once seated.

The place is tastefully decorated and the stained glass windows are real masterpieces. A bit expensive, e.g. the granola with yogurt is very small for 10 euro. Nice the idea to write the tea's infusion time on the teapot, but then the service should be much quicker as my green tea arrived after almost 10 minutes.

Located in the center of Grafton Street. It’s a busy place. You might have to wait 10-15 minutes atleast on weekends to get a table. The interiors are sort if vintage with wooden panels. They have good pastries/cakes. I would recommend the cheesecake. It was quite good.

We were three persons and had 3x Traditional Irish Breakfast. We also ordered one seasonal bun and one seasonal scone to share. Unless you are a big eater, we wouldn't recommend doing the same. The breakfast plate doesn't look like much but it is extremely filling. It was all absolutely delicious though and I wish I could eat more

Came for breakfast, no waiting time. Staff was great, really lovely. Coffee was alright, not the best I’ve had, the mocha had way too much chocolate in it. To eat, we both had the avocado sourdough which was nice! nothing amazing but still good. Will say the venue was beautifully decorated but it was really cold in there. It was nice but not sure I’d go back.

Great place for tourists and locals alike. Seated prior to reservation time despite it being busy. Friendly service and food arrived well less than 10 minutes from ordering. The Hen Egg Royale was delicious. Filtered coffee equally as good.

Supper nice place, it’s a must go if you are in Dublin. The coffee was also amazing. The scones and also all bakery are made in store so price is kind of justified. The scones should be on the must try list. The service of the staff is professional, they seemed proud to be working this place. There is many hidden places that are not open to public, however the store is full or art so it is kind of shame that patrons cannot have a look. However if I would live locally, I would definitely be a regular here.

What an experience! Definitely worth the wait too! We only had to queue for 10-15 minutes before being ushered to a table in the restaurant area. Surrounded by a lovely decor including stained glass windows we were instantly greeted with the positive energy of our waitress. Orders were quickly made, and we opted for the Full Irish Breakfast, obviously. The plate is full, full of flavours including sausages, bacon, black and white pudding, poached eggs, grilled cherry tomatoes and their delicious soda bread. Add to that their creamy coffee and you are in for a ride for sure! Naturally we were tempted by the array of cakes they sell to and we had to ask for a box to take away with us a Tropical Meringue (Meringue, whipped cream, pineapple & passionfruit compote, prosecco syrup, passionfruit purée.) and a Strawberry & Elderflower Mousse (Wexford strawberry mousse, pain de gênes, elderflower & sudachi gel.). We quickly ran back to the hotel to pack up before checking out, but we only checked out after we took the time to savour the two patisseries. Let me tell you: that mousse was AMAZING. And the compote of the tropical meringue to die for. They sure lived up to their reputation! Another place we will revisit next time we stop by Dublin!

Very poor experience of a busy Bewleys today. We waited 20 minutes to be told that only the bakery was open...the kitchen is closed so no lunch foods today like soup or sandwiches. This is something they should have specified at the door so as not to waste people's time.

Not as warm and friendly as it used to be. I was expecting more of this iconic place. Instead I found an insanely overcrowded cafe with overworked staff. It feels that they just want to get rid of you from the moment you're enjoying the last sip of your coffee which is delicios by the way. Also the cakes are wonderful, the chocolate ones taste amazing. I recommend the chocolate mousse with a heart of apricot jam. The decoration is interesting with those big strained-glass windows and a fire-place in the main sitting area. I wouldn't recommend it for a Saturday evening as the waiting time is too long. Maybe is best to go around 3 or 4pm. We've awaited to be seated only 5 min.

A must-do experience for any lover of coffee, pastry, cafes, architecture or just good taste! Bewley's is an institution in Dublin and while not being cheap, the Oriental cafe lets you escape into a period of gallantry, courtesy and exquisite taste. You get escorted to your table and served by friendly and quick servers. Make sure you take the time and walk around a bit, the café has been closed for close to three years for restoration, and it's a masterpiece of art and architecture. Oh, and there's a theatre upstairs... And try the Mary cake!

Absolutely lovely. Beautiful space, tasty food, generous servings, fast service. I would gladly return. We shared a sausage roll and the beef stew and found it to be an incredibly filling meal. The soda bread that comes with the stew is divine.

It was raining so I went in knowing nothing about it. There was a short queue so I expected it to be good, and it certainly was. As "Monday is Bunday" I had a Cherry bun full of glacé cherry chunks and fair trade tea. It may be cheaper in other places but do you get comfort, great service AND stained glass windows for your money ? I think not.

Love Bewleys for what it represents to me (once the literary hub of past Irish authors), but since the last renovation, you're sitting on the lap of other visitors, so much so it takes away being able to have a somewhat private conversation.

I am sorry to hear that Bewleys is having to close it's doors for good. I know I gave it a very bad rating due to its appalling foreign staff who were entirely inappropriate to work here. I'm sorry for the Irishman welcoming and seating guests as his behaviour was entirely appropriate for Bewleys. It's a pity Bewleys had lost what it was famous for - traditional coffee and treats and good old fashioned service. Lovely old building had changed little from its origins but I was horrified by the behaviour of the waitresses and others (mainly foreign) 'working' there when I visited recently. Enough said! Different management, properly trained staff could have saved Dublin's best known cafe. Unfortunately it didn't happen!
