My parents bought my bf a silver claddagh from here for Christmas. The craftsmanship is literally to die for, the packaging was cute and it came with a little sheet that contained history on both the store and the rings along with other merchandise. I have one from there, a gold one, going back at least 19 years now.

Great service and authentic rings of exceptional quality! I purchased a lovely rose gold ring and have received so many compliments on it. The rings are pricy but are worthwhile due to the quality craftsmanship. It will certainly hold its value, especially in a sentiment sense.

I bought a classic Claddagh ring 6 months ago and it didn’t leave my finger since. The ring is really pretty and reminds me of the lovely time I had in Ireland. The staff was really kind and helpful and the atmosphere was truly enchanting. Most definitely recommend!

Can’t recommend enough! I purchased a knot ring in 2017 when I visited Galway. I recently purchased Claddaghs for us this year. They’re beautiful, and Thomas Dillon is thoughtful and speedy with each sale. Thank you!

Such a tiny shop and honestly lacks the charm and warmth of it’s history. Just everyday sales people working there that don’t really care about their product. No long term commitment to repairing something you purchased their either. They told us to just get it fixed back at home. ☹️. Ok. I’ll just buy it back home too.

I wanted to buy my partner a claddagh ring as a proposal+/-wedding band because of its symbolism, and Thomas Dillons was the obvious choice because of its history as the original claddagh ring. Their '100 year' ring is designed to commemorate the centenary of the jeweller's passing to its current ownership. I really liked this ring because it felt really substantial, with a heavy thick band (I think ~5mm?). I would definitely recommend it as a men's ring or even a standalone ring for women who like big rings, but I quickly realised that it was probably too big to be stacked with an engagement ring! They were very patient in helping me exchange the ring for one of their standard ladies' designs, which has a thinner band (3mm) and is more flattering for smaller fingers. My fiancée loves it and is looking forward to keeping it as a family heirloom for years to come. The ring itself has very intricate detail (noticeably more distinctive than my own ring which I got elsewhere in Galway) and the packaging is also very nice. The ring box feels premium, we appreciated the information leaflets which gave a bit more history of the ring, and the handwritten note was a lovely touch. We can't wait to make a trip to the museum when we're next in Galway!

Came over from Southie just for the Claddagh ring. Plan on going this new year to see the Mace of Galway that the lovely shop owners told me about during June, friendly staff - great prices - the museum in the store was a bonus!

I had dreamed of coming to Ireland for years to purchase an authentic Claddagh ring. I finally ventured here from the US and COULD NOT wait to come to this store given its history. While I was super excited to see the museum and hear more about the story behind the ring, the service was a d….r….a…..g 🫥. I remained optimistic and upbeat despite the snarky dismissive behavior of one of the associates. I even returned two days later for the jeweler to size the ring I wanted. The jeweler was incredibly kind and quick, however the young lady from the other day was there and she was just awful, again. I was most excited about this experience in all of Ireland and while I still purchased 5 different pieces (gifts mostly), the service definitely put a dent in the experience. If I had not dreamed of this for so many years I wouldn’t have purchased anything due to the curt associate. I guess every place can’t have Disney level standards. I’m still super happy to have experienced the “original” place the Claddagh ring was made. If you’re like me and super excited to see this place I would still recommend to go. I was fan girling and still appreciated it. Just lower your expectations a bit.

Amazing gem of a store in the heart of Galway. There was a small museum at the back of the store and we were delighted to see claddagh rings from the 1700s!! The two women who helped us were so friendly and warm. A must see when in Galway 🇮🇪☘️

This is the original and I highly recommend to get your Claddagh Ring here if you value quality and service. I had mine for years and never took it off. The amount of times I went to the gym using heavy weights took its toll and the band of my ring cracked. Mary and the team were fantastic. I sent my ring to them and received it back within 3 days! It looks like new. I am very grateful and can't thank you enough.

The proprietors and employees, ESPECIALLY Hannah, of this wee store are gems, truly. Thank you for taking such good care of us! You made our venture into the city to brave the parking debacle worthwhile.

My husband and I came all the way from Toronto, Canada and drove all over Ireland. We made our way to Galway just to purchase this precious ring from the original store. This authentic jewelry store is located in a beautiful plaza. They have so many selections of the traditional Claddagh rings and many modern selections too. My husband got me an 18 karat simple gold ring and I love it. The lady who helped us select the best choice was absolutely helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

A cosy little shop with a palpable air of history and tradition. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices – and their authentic, classic Claddagh ring is truly beautiful.

The shop is a wonderful experience and the history is incredible. I didn't leave with a traditional clauddagh ring, but I did leave with an aquamarine and pearl stunner in a traditional design. This heirloom piece will always stay in the family with a beautiful memory of my first trip to Ireland.

Really cool to see the history behind the claddagh! Staff was super helpful in our search for finding the perfect souvenirs (what’s cooler than a claddagh from the original makers of the iconic Irish jewelry??).

An absolutely wonderful and historic Jewellers Shop. This is the only true place to buy an Irish Claddagh ring but they sell other jewellery as well and I needed a new chain for a locket. Jonathan and his wife could not have been more helpful they know everything about the history of Galway and could even tell my husband where his ancestors shop used to be over a century ago. They have a lovely Claddagh Ring museum at the back of the shop which is free to visit and a little treasure of the city overlooked by many. Just pop in if you are passing, they make everyone feel welcome.

I am from Portland Maine and on my first trip to Ireland my mother and I bought my gladdagh ring from Thomas Dillion. That was in 2006, 15 years later I still have it. And I work on the sea. So it has held up to a lot. I would recommend Thomas Dillion, to anyone looking for a gladdagh ring. No descendant of Ireland should go without one.
