I
wanted
to
buy
my
partner
a
claddagh
ring
as
a
proposal+/-wedding
band
because
of
its
symbolism,
and
Thomas
Dillons
was
the
obvious
choice
because
of
its
history
as
the
original
claddagh
ring.
Their
'100
year'
ring
is
designed
to
commemorate
the
centenary
of
the
jeweller's
passing
to
its
current
ownership.
I
really
liked
this
ring
because
it
felt
really
substantial,
with
a
heavy
thick
band
(I
think
~5mm?).
I
would
definitely
recommend
it
as
a
men's
ring
or
even
a
standalone
ring
for
women
who
like
big
rings,
but
I
quickly
realised
that
it
was
probably
too
big
to
be
stacked
with
an
engagement
ring!
They
were
very
patient
in
helping
me
exchange
the
ring
for
one
of
their
standard
ladies'
designs,
which
has
a
thinner
band
(3mm)
and
is
more
flattering
for
smaller
fingers.
My
fiancée
loves
it
and
is
looking
forward
to
keeping
it
as
a
family
heirloom
for
years
to
come.
The
ring
itself
has
very
intricate
detail
(noticeably
more
distinctive
than
my
own
ring
which
I
got
elsewhere
in
Galway)
and
the
packaging
is
also
very
nice.
The
ring
box
feels
premium,
we
appreciated
the
information
leaflets
which
gave
a
bit
more
history
of
the
ring,
and
the
handwritten
note
was
a
lovely
touch.
We
can't
wait
to
make
a
trip
to
the
museum
when
we're
next
in
Galway!
