The representative that signed me up lied about the cancellation. He told me I could cancel the membership at any time and did not mention that I would need to pay almost R2000 to cancel. When you try to cancel and explain your situation they don’t care at all. Situations change but they don’t want to reason with you. If someone has been paying gym membership for more than a year and they want to cancel due to reasons beyond their control then why would you expect them to pay such a big amount to cancel? The unfortunate part is I would have gone back to that gym when my situation was sorted….had they reasoned with me.

The new matrix equipment is not user friendly ,you guys got ride of all the good equipment and replaced it with "better looking equipment".The new equipment is quite uncomfortable and frustrating to use and to train with. There is not enough equipment to train with anymore,there can't be 5-10 people training in one corner of the gym and waiting for 5-10 minutes for a machine because there is not enough equipment for people to train with, the equipment is not big enough for tall people.

I left the country a while back for work so my South African bank acc was not in use, I assumed my membership was canceled as the debit orders stopped but now almost a year later they randomly charge me 300 rand ? And to cancel I must pay a fee that was never stipulated to me ?

Guys, super opening times during the week, indeed! But when it comes to the weekend... I think I speak for many when I say, don't open soooo early on sat and Sunday and in that same logic, close later. Don't open so early and don't close so early. Cheers

I had high hopes when I joined planet fitness Centurion Gate, but unfortunately, the experience as of late has been quite underwhelming, especially when it comes to the condition of some of the cardio equipment. If you're looking for a gym where the machines properly and consistently work, this is not the place for you.

New I have been a member of Planet Fitness for almost 30 years. My friend was visiting me and I wanted to take him along on Sunday the 16th of March. He had back surgery and I asked the lady at the front desk if he could sit inside while I was exercising. She refused and I asked her to call the manager. Although there were almost no people in the gym, the manager - Tsolofelo - refused to come to the front desk to talk to me. I then went to her office. Although I offered to pay she still refused and said there were no sales consultants on a Sunday. I think it is absolutely scandalous for a club of which I had been a member for so long, to be treated in this way! Planet Fitness has no idea what client service entails and the so called manager was an epitome of laziness, unfriendly client service and simply a terrible representative of Planet Fitness! I wish I could give the club a zero!

I would rate zero if I could! I signed up with Planet Fitness The Gate Centurion in Jan I was told by the sales rep NICK that there is a planet kids with a caretaker at that facility. I proceeded to ask about cancellation, NICK notified me that it is just a 2 months notice period and I can cancel on those terms. My husband was there as well as my baby. On our first gym session (it was a Monday) I had taken my kid with me, I am only able to go to gym after 17:00 and planet kids closes at 19:00 When we got there I had to leave my 8 month old in an unventilated room with 8 other kids and ONE CARETAKER. Part of the 8 included another very small baby probably 6-7months old which the caretaker had been holding. I had to put my child into a filthy cot to sit there. I asked the caretaker if it was always like this, one lady and many kids, she said yes, they haven’t considered adding another staff in years. Her hands were literally full. One person 9 kids, 2 of which were under 1 year… There was no fan, no aircon, no ventilation… My son than started to moan so she tried to feed him a bottle but was so busy I had to run in there and help , he was then left to basically feed himself at 8 months old… I quickly finished my session and took him home, when we left he was burning up red in his face. The following day he was congested like crazy! I had immediately tried to process a cancellation and then was told I need to pay R1800 because there’s no such thing as the cancellation notice. I was lied to just so NICK could make a sale. The staff at The gate are not helpful at all, sending me in circles trying to sort out my issue. I am so damn unhappy with this place! THE LIES ARE OUTRAGEOUS. And I’m not the first person NICK has lied to just to strike a deal. I’ve been waiting for feedback from the sales manager Jacques since mid Jan! NO ONE GETS BACK TO ME AND THE DEBIT ORDERS STILL RUN!

Everything you might need and lots more. Good wifi so you can stream music while exercising. Staff friendly and its clean. They are open from very early till late, so you can go at any time.

Dear Planet Fitness Management, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received at your facility during my recent visit. The experience was deeply disappointing and left me feeling unwelcome and undervalued as a paying member. Firstly, the receptionist—a female staff member—displayed an unprofessional and dismissive attitude toward me. She questioned my identification for the Black Tag membership in a manner that felt unnecessarily rude and accusatory. This behavior is entirely unacceptable and contrary to the welcoming environment I expect at a gym of your reputation. Furthermore, after using the pool, I proceeded to the kitchen to order something to eat, only to be told that it was closed at 1 p.m. Minutes later, I witnessed the same staff member taking an order from another customer. When I inquired about this, the kitchen staff member dismissed me further, adding that "the cleaners do not greet either," as if to justify the lack of professionalism. This blatant inconsistency and dismissiveness in service are infuriating and unacceptable. Additionally, I noticed that the cleaners failed to acknowledge members, further contributing to an overall unwelcoming atmosphere. Such behavior reflects poorly on the standards of customer service at Planet Fitness and is not what I expect as a loyal member paying for premium service. I trust you understand the seriousness of this matter. As a paying member, I expect courteous and fair treatment from your staff at all times. This level of unprofessionalism not only tarnishes the Planet Fitness brand but also discourages members from continuing to support your establishment. Please address this issue promptly and provide feedback on the corrective actions taken. Failure to do so may lead to further escalation of the matter.
