PSG College of Arts and Science was started in 1947 by the PSG and Sons Charities which was founded in 1926 by the four sons of P.S. Govindasamy Naidu. The college was affiliated to Madras University till 1978.. The college became autonomous and affiliated to Bharathiar University since 1978. It is one of the first Arts and Science college in Tamil Nadu to get the autonomous status. The college was identified as a College with Potential for Excellence by University Grants Commission (India) in October 2005. It is one among 47 colleges in the country, 8 in the State and the only one in Bharathiar University. The college has been accredited at the FIVE STAR level by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and became an ISO 9001: 1994 certified institution in 2001 and subsequently an ISO 9001: 2000 certified institution since 2003

As all people mostly knows about this college before joining it's a best arts and science college in and around Coimbatore . The interior and the hostel facility is a bit old because it's a traditional college which has a very good standard . But the admission process is difficult because it's a high ranked College. The crowd during admission will be large . The students are also good . It's a best CAS College i have ever known in Coimbatore.

PSG College Of Arts And Science Admission 2019: Reservation, Scholarship, Application Process PSG College of Arts and Science, situated at Coimbatore, was established in the year 1947 by PSG & Sons Charities Trust. The college offers an extensive list of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In addition to it, PSG College Of Arts And Commerce also provides certificate or diploma courses along with some additional courses offered to the students based on their interest. The course duration of undergraduate programmes is 3 years while the duration of post graduate programme is 2 to 5 years depending on the stream chosen by the candidate. The diploma or certified courses are of 1 year duration. Key Points regarding Admission: The eligibility criteria for candidates applying for undergraduate aided/unaided programs are different depending upon the course they choose to opt. For all the BA programmes, the mandatory eligibility criterion is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 qualifying examination. For post graduate programs, the candidate stands eligible if he/she has completed the graduation with the mandatory subjects required for the respective program. The selection process for undergraduate programs is based on merit/scores obtained in the the qualifying examination. For postgraduate programmes, the admission is made on a direct basis or through entrance examination.

I am pursuing my msc here...it is good for placement and i have got placement. campus and the atmosphere is excellent.... teaching should have to be improved and teachers should be more friendly and understanding to students in some department....some courses like that of zoology should have more exposure

Kindly do not attend the faculty interview conducted in this college. Its conducted for namesake and its waste of time. All the recommendation staff will be let inside the interview room first and will be allowed to take class. If you are from an other college, you will let at the last and they will not even ask you to take class. It will be namesake interview for which they make people come from far. No food will be provided, whereas the interview panel will be provided hot lunch. No proper respect for professors. I considered it to be an esteemed Institution and applied for professor post, but its a waste of my time, money and energy. The college doesn't keep up the values and standards like the past.

An ex student there. Its an okay place to study. They have placements. Thats the most importan thing. Teachers are not great. Ambience is beautiful. Hostels are good compared to other colleges. I never liked the teaching staff there.

GRD Auditorium, Stone Bench, Library Block and PSG back gate are memorable places... CASRECALL - Visited this college for my mother's Alumni reunion. Such a wonderful effort and great event management in a beautiful environment. Starting from sending the invitation via courier, arranging accommodation in a star hotel for alumni and their families, organising cultural events by inviting celebrities, and giving remembrance mementoes, and photos, arranging food and refreshments, providing t-shirts, caps and wrist bands. Such a treat to the eyes and heart. Surely it created a wonderful memory all the way again. Kudos!

Good campus vide range courses with experienced faculties. But there payment gateway pathetic due failure of on line payment, it leads to lot of trouble to students/Parents. Staff are very polite and helpful but they are not trained properly to handle admission issues, Please do war foot action in this area.
