I saw a sea turtle so it is automatically a 5/5. A great experience overall. We went through training before going on the boat, so if it's your first time, don't be nervous. The time spent underwater felt fairly long, and the sunken statues are so cool to look at. We purchased tickets directly through MUSA's website. You can find them cheaper if you seek them out in person with a third party, but you're not guaranteed to get a MUSA-approved crew.

This was my first time scuba diving. It was fun but its not for everyone. At one point, I got panicky, but remember to breath when you are down there. Some people might not handle it well diwn there. The two young boat crew guys were very nice and helpful, including the guy taking the photos. The instructor however needs to be a bit more patient and considerate towards the beginners. This company offers scuba diving for beginning non- certificate divers. For my first time, it was a fun experience. I would definitely do scuba diving again, but next time with another company not this one.

My husband and I recently went on a scuba diving excursion to MUSA (Underwater Museum of Art) through Aquaworld, and it was an experience we won't forget! The package also included snorkeling at the Jungle Tour, and the total cost came to just under $400 USD - well worth every penny. Pre-Dive Preparation As first-time divers, we were required to take a 40-minute pool class to familiarize ourselves with the gear and learn essential hand signals for underwater communication. The training was effective and set us up for a successful open-water dive the following day. Dive Day On the day of the dive, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that all the other tourists in our group had scuba certifications or were getting certified that day. Even though we were the only ones without certification, our group leader was incredibly patient and made sure we were comfortable and safe throughout the adventure. Underwater Wonders Diving in MUSA is like entering a surreal underwater art gallery. The sculptures are fascinating, and the aquatic life around them is abundant. Our group leader pointed out various species of fish, enhancing our underwater experience. Photos & Videos For an additional $70 USD, we received a package of photos and videos capturing our dive. Though a bit on the pricey side, the visual keepsakes are a wonderful memento of our first dive. Final Thoughts Whether you're a seasoned diver or a newbie like us, MUSA through Aquaworld offers an unforgettable experience. The staff is professional, the gear is top-notch, and the underwater sights are mesmerizing. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a unique underwater adventure. Overall, a five-star experience that we would love to do again!

A really cool underwater museum. This is a great spot for all levels of divers with some stunning and moving sculptures. If you are lucky you may even spot some of the stunning wildlife that Mexico is famous for. A great dive spot for people looking for a fun and different dive.

Do NOT book via MUSA website directly as they will overcharge you and take a cut for themselves! We booked 2 dives from cancun for non-certificates (i.e. beginners) via MUSA website which charged us each $145 USD excluding dock tax fee which was another $10 USD that we had to pay at the diving site (this means we paid a total of $155 USD by booking on MUSA website). However, upon arriving at meeting point we learned that other people had booked the very same experience with exact same package with the diving company directly for only $120 USD including the dock tax fee. Which means we each paid an additional $35 USD which MUSA takes for itself for connecting you to the diving company. The diving company itself is called "solo dive cancun" ("solo buceo cancun") they have a website and business address you can find on Google maps. Others in the tour booked with them directly and had no issues and paid less than us. The same applied for those with certificates (MUSA website charges you $90 USD plus $10 USD dock tax fee but the diving company charges only $60 USD including the dock tax fee). Book with the diving company directly! Booking via MUSA does not give you any advantage whatsoever. MUSA website is dishonest and it is ridiculous they charge this much extra for connecting you to the dive company! Our dive experience itself was fantastic and highly recommend it. The instructor was awesome and the dives were each ~40 min and we dived once to see the underwater statues (MUSA) and the second dive to see the manchones natural reefs. All diving equipments were included (minus suits which you technically don't need!), the boat ride and water also included.

Such an amazing experience. The museum was gorgeous, lots of diverse animals and we had an amazing photographer. MUSA is definitely an experience you have to try once in your life if you are in the area.

I've already left a review when I originally went in July 2021. After 3 vacations, I've finally decided to get my photos and videos off my GoPro Hero 9 that I've been using on all these trips. Thought I'd share some for others to enjoy. I had a great time. Everyone was super nice. The water was SO blue and clear. The sites were great to see and be around. The experience is for sure worth it. I didn't want to share too much and give too much away :) Remember to look around and soak it all in. Keep an eye on your group, and just have a good time. It's absolutely beautiful down there!!! Instagram: @jess_tastic11

The Underwater Art Museum is a magical place off the coast of Cancun, which aims to protect the areas's coral reef, in style. Underwater there are more than 400 works of art from Jason Taylor deCaires resting peacefully between fish and marine vegetation. Unsurprisingly, it's a favourite with scuba divers.

I dove here last week with Manta Divers Cancun and that was amazing. The visibility is nice. And this is something that you need to add on your bucketlist if you plan to visit Cancun. It's not really deep, you still can see if you snorkel but if you do scuba diving it's even better cause you can spend more time down there to come and see closer what's there. Highly recommended!

I'm only posting a 3 because I had higher expectations. 1. The statues were a lot deeper than expected which I was hoping to be up close and personal. Limited visibility 2. I assumed that there would be a ton of marine life because of tue underwater museum, but there was only a few fish. 3. Statues were grouped together and not much difference, or at least from what I could tell. Only cool thing was the unexpected Volkswagen and the funny statues with head down and butt up.

The day we went to musa was a sunny day, so the visibility underwater is really good and we have had a great time there! It was really cool because here you can enjoy the magical relationship between man and nature. It's OK if you never tried scuba diving before, they will give you a lesson in the pool before your real adventure to make sure you get every skills you need, and there will be 2 professional in each group and they check your condition every few minutes, so it's really a safe and interesting place to go! REALLY recommend

Interesting underwater museum. They have cars, small houses, studies of people. However there is not that much sea life there. Ok to see once

This is a diving + snorkeling spot here built by local authorities to protect coral reefs and provide alternative destinations for tourists. The entire area is quite big, you may dive/snorkel multiple times to find different sculptures around different spots. Some of the very famous sculptures are the car, the group of people looking up, the arch, etc. In most cases, people need to book a tour and follow some local guides to come here and enjoy this museum.

The snorkeling tour is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful sculptures to see and very nice people. But the website is very bad. The address given during the purchase is not the right address, the real place is Aquaworld, which is much further, on the other side of the island. That address is only given once tickets are purchased. They also don't say there is a 15$ per person fee to pay at the counter, until you buy the tickets. You only get the informations once you bought everything. We ended up paying much more (needing taxi for the real location + fee) than expected ! Thank you

We took a tour from the person in the photo. He told everything well, but not only did we not get into this museum, but the departure time did not coincide with the one for which we bought tickets. Other people who bought tickets from other people received compensation for their tickets, but we just have beautiful words about the trip. but I'm disappointed with the catamaran trip

Don’t do this excursion. I didn’t even see the the art because one of the workers has mess on the time. They will set in the wrong time and basically have you waste four hours. I was able to get my money back but I wasted my vacation time. There are far better snorkel and places in Cancun. Even though it might cost this and that person you will still have to bring an extra 20 US dollars.

Pretty cool art installation underwater. First time we ever scuba dived. If you’re in Cancun, take a scuba lesson that will take you out to this spot. It’s worth it.

This is a scam!!!! They tell you to be in front of Paradisus hotel half an hour before. I had the boat tour scheduled for today at 11. I have paid online and there was nobody in front of the hotel explaining you what do to, no sign, nothing!!! They dont even have a phone no on the website, so no way of contacting them. Unbelievable

Average. To be honest, if you have snorkelled anywhere else, feel free to skip this. Lots of seaweed, there were like 2 sculptures we saw (which is what the 2 stars were for). Barely any sealife or diversity. Staff was polite and great though. If you're like me and have the extreme need to check off things on your vacay list, go for it. If not, use your time elsewhere and dive/snorkel elsewhere. PS. Really, what's with all the sea weeds

I have been diving here many times. The last dive, I saw the biggest hawksbill turtle I have ever seen! It's an easy dive for beginners; not really any current in that area, great visibility, and it is all relatively shallow, like 10M or less. It is a great idea for the wildlife and unique spot here in Cancún, I'd definitely recommend it! 👌

Do not go by the online pictures. I have visited twice. First time to scuba and second for a glassbottom boat tour. It's nothing like the photos.

Missed opportunity - such a cool idea with poor implementation, MUSA outsources this experience to an operator that is clueless how to inspire visitors - on the contrary inexperienced guides trying to make visitors nervous about “poisonous corals” or “dangerous sharks” dumb but effective my son didn’t want to snorkel further…mass tourism tactics affecting what I imagined could be interesting and educational art and nature experience.

The water is amazingly clear and beautiful. We went snorkeling. The museum was kinda boring. Other places had great marine life and beautiful fish we didn't see much here. Maybe it is nicer for scuba diving

Fantastic! Great information... very interactive and so much fun!

  • 2/5 R. C. 1 year ago on Google
It's an OK dive experience although the surrounding area is pretty devoid of aquatic life - ultimately why this exists to try and rebuild the reef. Better to dive the reefs that are not far off.

  • 3/5 Eric S. 1 year ago on Google
Went scuba diving in MUSA. It's definitely a unique experience, but you won't see as much diversity as in the reefs. The statues are cool, and seeing different fish interact with the artificial objects are nice.

  • 5/5 Dylan R. 1 year ago on Google
It was beautiful. Watching the different coral and fish in and around the concrete statues was very interesting

They definitely could have done a better job, nothing indicates where the sculptures actually are and they are far from each other. So far, not much marine life as the corals are just start growing.
