Just finished a seven week holiday to the UK and Europe and Highcliffe stands out as the best breakfast ever and extremely comfortable room. You get to experience the difference that comes when the owners are invested into the hands on running of their business. Robert is Mr hospitality and Richard works his magic in the kitchen. We were welcomed with a cream tea and smiles and that welcome lasted until we left. Rooms are well equipped and have amazing views across to Wales. Couldn't fault a thing. These two guys are setting standards that are a credit to the region.

Highcliffe house is outstanding in all respects. The interiors of the public rooms and bedrooms are very tasteful and extremely well maintained. There are stunning views to be enjoyed yet it is close to the main centre of Lynton. Our room had very good WI-FI, coffee, tea facilities, charging points, hairdryer - even binoculars- everything needed had been considered. Breakfast choice is vast- and served promptly due to provid img choices the night before. Robert and Richard have selected local providers who have won awards- which meant our breakfasts were very tasty and plentiful. We enjoyed our stay, admired the service provided by our hosts and can thoroughly recommend,- without qualification!

First impression: beautiful quiet position, with breathtaking views across the Channel to Wales and of Countisbury hill, but close enough to Lynton town to be a mere 2 minute walk. We were greeted by Robert and Richard. Perfect hosts, so friendly and welcoming. The House is a real gem. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful but not in the least oppressive (so that you feel you must whisper). The decor is befitting the age and character of Highcliffe but again the ambience is relaxing not inhibiting. The bedrooms - we had two - are gorgeous. Robert and Richard have thought of everything in appointing and equipping the rooms. Finally; breakfast: greeted by Robert and Richard the scene is set and they deliver. This was the best Band B breakfast we have had. The food was fresh perfectly prepared delicious and there is plenty of it. We would give more than 5 stars if we could. We will be back and we strongly recommend Highcliffe House.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful Bed & Breakfast in Lynton. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by the warm and attentive hosts, Richard and Robert. They are both experienced travellers, which has no doubt given them a really good understanding of how to do hospitality well. Everywhere you look, you see wonderful art they have collected from around the world, so the whole house has a unique and personal ambience. Highcliffe House is both child-free and pet-free, which really lends itself to a peaceful atmosphere where you can fully relax and unwind. After enjoying the complementary cream tea, we were shown up to our room. The room we chose was Kipscombe: it was simply stunning, with elegant décor, a very comfortable bed, and the seating area offers breathtaking views of the coastline. Breakfast at Highcliffe House is a truly special experience. Guests are offered a wide range of options, including porridge, a full English breakfast with eggs cooked to order, croissants, yogurt with fruit, plenty of other choices - and excellent coffee. The food is all locally sourced and freshly prepared, and it was absolutely delicious. The bar is very well-stocked for spirits too, and Richard served us up some excellent gin & tonics each night of our stay, which really helped to get the evenings started! Highcliffe House is perfectly located for exploring the charming town of Lynton and the surrounding area. There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance, and the b&b is also within easy reach of the Valley of the Rocks and other popular tourist attractions. Travelling into Lynmouth on the funicular railway is a must. One of the highlights of our stay was eating at the Nartnapa Thai restaurant, inside the Cottage Inn pub. The food was incredible, there was a great selection of beer and cider, and it's a really pleasant walk to and from Highcliffe. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. The accommodation is superb, the breakfast is delicious, and the hosts are incredibly welcoming and helpful. If you are looking for a luxurious and relaxing bed and breakfast in Lynton, look no further than Highcliffe House.

We had a wonderful stay at Highcliffe House after our wedding. The rooms were very comfortable and had beautiful views of Lynton, overlooking the sea. The beds were comfortable and the room had all the amenities we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The breakfast at Highcliffe House was superb. The breakfast room was sunny and bright and looked out over the Lynmouth coastline. The food was cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. We had a range of options including local produce, fresh fruit, and a full English breakfast. A delightful way to start the day. See you again :-)

My wife Monique and I had the pleasure of experiencing a remarkable weekend escape at Highcliffe House in Devon, and I can't help but share the incredible memories we made. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the awe-inspiring vista of the Devon coastline and the charming town that cradles it. The sheer beauty of our surroundings left us spellbound, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable stay. The rooms at Highcliffe House were a testament to opulence and elegance. No expense had been spared, and every detail was carefully chosen to create a distinctive and lavish experience. We felt utterly pampered and indulged during our stay. After a day of exploration, we sought solace in the drawing room, where we enjoyed refreshing drinks from the Devon Gin Bar. The ambiance was enchanting, providing the ideal atmosphere to unwind and savor the tranquility of Exmoor. All in all, every moment of our weekend at Highcliffe House was an absolute delight, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable getaway.

After lots of research in the area that I wanted to stay, I booked a 2 day surprise trip for my partner's birthday at Highcliffe House. And boy was I glad that I did my research! An amazing house located overlooking the sea, stunning decor and artwork. The cream tea on arrival is a lovely touch and delicious. Each bedroom is supplied with an Ipad and an Amazon Alexa along with bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom has big fluffy towels, and as well as flannels there is also a little make up remover mitt. Local fudge was left by the bedside and a weather report card pushed under your door each night for the next day. And oh the breakfasts! All locally sourced meat, almost too much choice and really good portions all cooked by the lovely Richard. Honestly I just wanted to stay for ever with Robert and Richard - they made our stay such an unforgettable experience. They even gave my other half a box of chocolates and a card on his birthday which they remembered from my booking. a 5* experience all round. And the final accolade, Stanley Tucci stayed with them 2 weeks prior to us, and if it's good enough for Stanley ......

What a fabulous stay at Highcliffe House! We were greeted by Robert who checked us in before directing us up to our room. We stayed in Kipscombe, a beautiful room with the most comfortable bed and amazing sea views. Everything was spotlessly clean and the towels and linen fresh and luxurious. Little touches like local chocolates, fresh milk available, binoculars to really get the best view from our window, gorgeous toiletries...the list goes on - we were truly spoilt! Nothing was too much trouble for Robert and Richard. We were ready to head down to dinner in the village early and so asked if we could have a drink in the second sitting room overlooking Lynmouth and Robert bought our drinks through to the gorgeous sitting room where we felt so comfortable just being able to sit and take our time. Robert and Richard have recommended some local restaurants which really helped and The Oak Room was just as good as they had said! The breakfast at Highcliffe was just the best too. So much thought was put into everything and everything was delicious. Again, Robert and Richard really looked after us as we ate breakfast in the dining room that has panoramic glass windows so a fabulous view is guaranteed! We can't recommend this lovely place enough and just wish we had booked at least 2 more nights stay....next time for sure!
