I have been driving past this place for a bit and was excited for it to open. I went on the first day and was greeted with smiles and welcomes! I ordered and they let me sit at one of the open tables. One of the servers came and asked me if I wanted some Turkish Tea and I said yes. It was DELICIOUS. Many of the servers were very friendly and nice! I ordered the Lamb Gyro and a dessert! They were both full of flavor and soo amazing! Definitely coming back to try the Turkish coffee next!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Team was professional, personable and quick. The food is simply phenomenal. Hard to explain how great our experience was, but it is our new favorite restaurant in New Jersey. Congratulations Rumi Mediterranean Cafe & Grill.

Indulge in the authentic flavors of Turkey at Rumi Turkish Cuisine and Sweets. This gem offers a warm ambiance and a menu brimming with halal meat dishes. From savory kebabs to rich stews, each bite is a journey through Turkish culinary tradition. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a delightful dining experience. Don't miss their standout feature – an array of exquisite desserts that beautifully cap off the meal, making Rumi a must-visit for those craving genuine Turkish cuisine.

We had a fantastic dinner experience at Rumi Mediterranean Cafe & Grill. The food, especially the doner kebab, was delicious, and the service was impeccable. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere inside made the whole dining experience even better. We were particularly impressed by the hygiene standards, cleanliness, and the focus on serving healthy food. Highly recommended for a delightful dining experience.

On Thanksgiving day, just hours before our international dinner, my visiting Jordanian students and I ran out of some key ingredients to prepare the Tabouleh. As the local grocery store had just closed, my students convinced me to walk into the bright, brand new little restaurant RUMI, pleasantly nestled between Conger Street and Glenwood Ave,, and ask if they would kindly spare some tomatoes! Not only did Arkan and Harkan bestow upon us their last few Romas, but they also revealed to us a brand new world of delectable Turkish food now arrived in downtown Bloomfield. We left armed with some of the best Baba Ganoush on this side of the Mediterranean – I am not kidding —and the gift of an exquisite dessert much like rice pudding, but subtler and far more delicious. Not only is the staff of Rumi friendly, charming and generous, the freshly made food is truly top-notch. My students, who hold Middle-Eastern fare in the US to their high standards were ecstatic! While waiting, we were treated to fragrant Turkish tea and encouraged to return. I just did return, and nothing could be more restorative after an hour battling Friday night traffic on the Garden State than the warm, vibrant atmosphere of Rumi, festooned with turquoise lamps and reverberating with the sound of backslapping hugs from friends and neighbors dropping in to pay their respects to the owners. My kitchen is under construction, but I feel so lucky this evening to be enjoying a take out feast of light and springy calamari, that perfectly charred and smoky Baba Ganoush again, salad, and another gift of a Turkish dessert. “These feel like my family!” exclaimed Arkan affectionately greeting a couple who had already dined at Rumi four times since it opened! Returning to Rumi is what it’s all about!!!! Welcome to Watsessing!

You walk in and the restaurant is pretty and it’s blue and white everywhere and they have pretty lamps hanging, it remind me of near the Aegean Sea in Turkey. We ordered the mix cold appetizer, hummus, acili ezme, and haydari, all of the dips were so delicious, tasted freshly made. I ordered the chicken Adana, it came with an onion salad, and grilled tomato and pepper, rice, and lavash bread, everything was so delicious and I was so excited to eat, I forgot to take a picture. My friend ordered the salmon which was also grilled, it came with rice, and a salad that had I think spinach and tomato and onion. I tried the salmon and it tasted so fresh and delicious. The rice was traditional Turkish rice, so good. We also got tea, coffee, and desserts, one was chocolate and the other was strawberry. Very happy we came here, I will definitely be coming back.
