What
a
huge
disappointment.
I
have
stayed
at
this
hotel
many
years
ago,
and
it
was
superb,
we
had
a
beautiful
large
room,
attentive
service,
it
was
lovely.
But
this
weekend
was
a
catastrophy.
Not
only
did
we
get
the
worst
room
in
the
hotel,
one,
which
I
can
only
assume
used
to
be
staff
quarters
(015),
but
the
service
was
dreadful.
The
wrong
suitcase
in
the
room
when
we
got
back
from
dinner
(we
could
not
check
in
when
we
arrived
at
14:00),
which
meant
waiting
while
tired.
I
needed
to
ask
for
the
following
repeatedly,
as
it
was
either
not
refreshed,
or
not
provided
in
the
first
place:
water,
drinking
glasses,
teas,
coffees,
espresso
and
tea
cups,
ear
buds,
toilet
paper,
facial
towelettes,
shower
gel.
I
also
had
to
ask
for
a
make
up
mirror
3
times.
(As
a
sidenote:
the
nespresso
capsules
provided
were
the
worst
capsules
I
have
ever
tasted).
The
internet
connection
was
something
out
of
1997.
The
room
itself
was
severely
run
down,
broken
bits
and
pieces
everywhere,
deep
unsightly
scratches
and
dents
on
furniture,
peeling
walls,
the
flimsy
drapes
were
tired
and
grey,
opening
the
closet
sounded
like
the
intro
into
a
horror
movie,
the
bathroom
had
chipped
tiles,
and
the
ceiling
art
deco
style
plastic
(?)
glass
stained
decoration
was
CAVING
IN
and
practically
disintegrating.
And
the
cherry
on
the
cake
was
me
being
forced
to
drag
my
large
and
heavy
suitcase
up
and
down
some
stairs
which
led
to
our
worst-room-in-the-hotel,
because
nobody
came
to
pick
it
up,
to
take
it
down
to
my
awaiting
taxi
to
take
us
to
the
airport.
My
husband
and
I
come
to
Paris
a
couple
of
times
a
year
for
work
and
to
see
family,
we
have
had
our
usual
hotel,
but
wanted
to
see
if
the
Raphael
could
replace
it,
since
we
had
enjoyed
it
so
much
in
the
past.
What
an
embarrassment.
The
few
pros:
the
room
was
clean,
as
was
the
bathroom,
the
towels
fluffy.
I
even
checked
the
mattress
for
the
famed
Parisian
bedbugs,
and
was
relieved
to
find
none,
starched
sheets
and
a
very
new-looking
mattress.
