Be really careful when ordering. They will upgrade the sizes to more expensive options without asking you. There is a service charge. And be careful that every side (rice, vegetables) is charged separately and they are expensive. I asked for a kebab wrap that was advertised at 260 and charged for a medium size at 390. These people see tourists as walking cash machines. AVOID. UPDATE - As you can see from the owners response they don't care about their customers. My review is not a lie. The menu by the door displays one price which is what we ordered. You then charged us for something more expensive. The restaurant owners are the liars.

Please avoid this place at all costs they are basically cheats at all levels. I really urge Google to black list them and warn their patrons to not visit the place. Day light robbery on this holy day of Eid in front of the two great mosques Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. Their tactic is that you eat the food and then present you with a big bill. EVEN if by chance you enter the restaurant offer to bill and pay first and that will expose them. I am planning to write to the police and the Ministry of Tourism to take action and cancel their license.

SCAM ALERT!!! When you passby and accidentally take a look at the menu, a person who will sound polite will greet you and convince you that the food is tasty and prices are very good. I was hooked in, and then the next step when the person behind the bar will pick up a plate and start filling it up, i ordered 2 chicken skewers, a lamb shank and a chicken sandwitch, beside what i ordered he put random things on the plate like portion of spring rolls, chicken salad etc. He put a scoop of rice with lambshank & skewers, when the actual bill arrived i was shocked to see that how they charged me for every single thing on the plate. They charged me an extra 10% service charge aswell for their useless service. Food was barely edible, for such bad taste and quality of food the total bill was 1790 Turkish Lira. I was ripped off and i highly recommend not to look at their menu if you pass by. My trip to Turkey was very good so far but this bunch of scammers ruined it and left a bad taste in my mouth. There are so many nice places yo eat where people are nice, just avoid this trap. Thanks

My chicken roll was not good at all for 11 euro, sorry. Cold meat, and found a bone in it. One star for the chicken roll and 4 stars for the other plate because it was good, tasty. Not that expensive, around 30 euros I would give 2.5 stars out of 5

They say that it’s normal to be cheated in Istanbul but this horrible place will surprise you and go beyond any expectations. I ordered 3 wrap kepabs and while I was paying they put only 2 in the bag. I have no words for that. Kebaps were also not very good. On top of that, next day I found out that those prices are 3 times higher than in other nearby places with great food. I returned 2 days latter to take pictures of this place an to check the name - Baran 2. Worst place ever. In any country.

SCAM RESTAURANT! Presents itself as a cheap restaurants but has hidden incentives, they charged 890 Turkish Lira for both of us, the chicken and beef was dry and stringy, the service was quite bad. Stay away from this place, if you find a guy who is standing up at the front, say NO straight away, otherwise you will get screwed! Beware! Beware! Beware!

If I could give zero stars I would have. Avoid avoid avoid at all cost this is a tourist trap. Me and my wife went in, we got a lamb shank which was very cold. We told to grab any sauces little dish we know they would be 30 lira each . When the bill came they knew what they where doing ! Will never ever visit again !

I have to say that we were extremely cautious when going because of the rating. Which was absolutely not our experience. We ordered 2 chicken durum doner to go. They charged us 140 liras each, as shown on the huge menu with prices that’s at the entrance, and food quality was good. It may be a bit overpriced but everything was OK. Both guys that attended us were super friendly. I don’t know if they are trying to improve the low rating they have, but our experience was not what’s shown here

More than in Switzerland, France of Germany !! 🤣🤣 There's almost no meat inside and it's written 290 Lira on their wall, but they said it was for the small one. They also added a lot of tasteless potatoes inside but the small amount of meat was good. I'll not lie. 🚨AVOID AT ALL COSTS🚨 Paid 1865 TRY ~ 56€ for this plate, the worst quality food I ate in Istanbul and one of the worst in my life. Paid the price of not researching before. The worst restaurant in Istanbul. They will overcharged you, pretend the bank machine not working and will ask you to insert you card on numerous times. When you checked you bank account, you'll be shocked. I was charged twice for the same thing.... Lucky me. Reported them to the police tourist... Begging not to. Avoid and share. Extremely expensive. They don't display prices. They will charge you what a 5 star hotel would most probably charge. Absolutely disgusting. Very arrogant people.

Horrible experience! I wish we had read the reviews before stepping in. They served us cold food with cold bread. We ordered chicken leg and thigh, lamb, fried chicken which was hard as a rock, rice, bulgar, doner. Nothing was good. Everything was cold except doner. Very pricey too. They added a service charge too for such horrible. What was shocking was that (I sat next to the window from where I could see them take the used plates out) they were openly recycling the bread. I was so disgusted, lost my appetite after seeing that. Heard another lady yelling at them for over charging her.

The food looks good from the window and there was a nice crowd inside so decided to order take out. We ordered enough food to last us for a couple of meals and were not disappointed with any of the items. Everything was very fresh and I thought the prices very fair.

Betrug!! Fraud!! Stay away, they take advantage of tourists by charging too high and unreasonable prices, and if that’s not enough the food was terrible and maybe remains of days ago! The personal are also all foreigners and very disrespectful. We ordered a dish per person for 6 people and the check came for 1600TL!!! The next day we ordered the same food in another restaurant downtown for 400TL!!

I tried the lamp chunk stew ( potato and Rice) it was yummy That why they got 3 stars. My hubby tried the mixed shawerma wrap, it was very dry not juicy. I chose low stars for staff weren't friendly and welcoming. Very expensive, it wasn't worth it.

We loved the food here so much that we ate here twice! Once at the start of our visit in Istanbul while visiting the mosques and Grand Bazaar in the area, and again on our way home through Istanbul, almost a month later. The food is very tasty and there is LOTS of it. SO MUCH that my travel companion and I were able to share a meal. The price was VERY reasonable for what we ordered. The freshness of the food was fantastic! Both of us Canadian women love to cook from scratch so 'home cooking' tastes are quickly recognized, as are the quality of the ingredients. Well done gentlemen! :) The staff are lovely and attentive. It's more of a diner experience where you can get a great meal at a good price and get on with your day (which worked perfect for us), as opposed to going in there to hang out for the atmosphere.

Not the best place to eat in this area of Istanbul, but it's not so bad. The food was okay, the service was fine as well.

Spent £30 on 2 Donner and chips and 2 cans of coke. Got caught out with the addition of rice and sauces they bring around. Recommend you find somewhere else but if you want to try make sure you confirm which item you are ordering off the menu so you don’t get caught out like us at the end especially for a lunch time meal. There must be better out there…

AVOID - DO NOT EAT HERE - We ate here this evening without reading feedback. BIG mistake! My meal was cold and tasteless (chicken under mash) - left good portion of chicken and only ate the cold lumpy mash because I was hungry. My wife loves eggplant, so had a mix of vegetables and meat wrapped in eggplant - she only managed a few mouthfuls of “the worst eggplant she has ever tasted”. Our total came to 249TL, WITH TIP BUILT IN! Waiters not friendly. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS AWFUL CAFE.

Shawarma Sandwich in Turkey 🇹🇷 They have there own shawarma type which is different than our middle east one, taste is very normal which I didn’t like so much. As if it was just a chicken with no spices, good that they were having some sauce which made me better somehow. Not recommended , I ate shawarma only one time during my vacation trip to Istanbul

I can’t describe this bad experience here. Food here is total disaster - I can say that was worst experience in Istanbul! We have got terrible stomach aches 2 hours after we ate. The worst part is that they are killing with prices! Some top fancy restaurants in Istanbul don’t charge this much money like they to. Once again - total disaster! Don’t go there, save your money and better go to the local market and buy a sandwich, you will definitely get better quality and have money in your pocket.

Worst place to eat! Food was awful! It looked nice, but was cold and I had a food poisoning after. They have overcharged the bill. I am very happy that I have asked if I can pay with a credit card upfront. Because when the bill was brought the waiter started saying that it is not possible to pay by card, but I have interrupted saying that I have asked upfront. Then I was able to pay, no issues occurred with card reader.

Take care of this restaurant. He is telling you that his food is cheap and what you paid totally different than his menu after all he is adding 10% for his bad service. I will never recommend you.

Tourist trap like everyone says. Should have done my research first and avoided. Very bad quality food - cold uncooked chips, cold meats. They won’t give you the menu but will tell you to go and pick your food and will sting you with a huge bill at the end. Definitely not worth it. We paid 500 liras for 2 people for a very bad quality meal. This would have cost 150 liras in other places.

I am a bit surprised by the negative ratings, I thought the food was terrific. It was a bit pricey, and get service like you would out of a cafeteria, so it is not a four-star restaurant whatsoever..

This has never happened to me in Istanbul until today. In one word, Overpriced and not worth what you pay for. The meat was tasty but why I should pay almost 700 for one person? If you order a drink and salad beside then get ready for the shock when you finish and pay. Not recommended at all. What do you mean by 1 dollar equals 29 Turkish lira? Is this an excuse to offer your dishes with such expensive prices? Why is this not the case in a lot of restaurants in Istanbul? Where are they getting their dishes component from? Plus, I was not on holiday, I came for work and I visit Turkey a lot and I know the prices very well. Additionally , if I am on holiday, this doesn’t mean that I need to throw my money like this. One last thing, if you see many people commenting on the same way and criticizing the prices, then I think you should understand that there is a problem with your prices and think how to solve it instead of saying you are on holiday don’t think about money! We should’ve read the reviews earlier but alas we were ushered in by the man outside since it was raining and we had nowhere else to go at the time. Servers are very friendly but won’t tell you the total price of the food up front (despite the pricing list, which is not accurate since the amount of food served ends up being more). Overall we were charged 2740 TKL which is $91, a completely ripoff based on the quality and quantity of the food. Even immigrant restaurants in foreign countries don’t charge this much. We should have known as soon as they dismissed our inquiries about pricing and told us to ‘eat first, then pay”. That’s never a good sign, but again we were pretty desperate since we were in a rush for our next flight but wanted to experience authentic food. If we had walked a little farther we would’ve found better quality and cheaper food. I am aware the restaurant will claim I’m lying but if there’s other reviews stating similar complaints/incidents, then I think you know who’s truly in the wrong.
