Mainly teas and spices can be found here, as well as desserts. Some jewelry also found. Zultanite can also be found. Be weary of some vendors that will charge double than other places. I paid 200TL for a kilo of baklava and then another vendor was selling 1 kilo for 100TL. Same thing with teas. Apple teas should cost around ~340TL for the kilo. I found a shop near gate two that sold it for 120TL.

A fun experience, much nicer than Grand Bazaar, in my opinion. The building is much smaller and more beautiful. The sellers are not as "aggresive" as in Grand Bazaar. Still, they will try to talk to you, but it's their job and they are friendly. During the pandemic (even now, in November 2021) they check the temperature on many of the people entering but you don't need to show your HES code. Around the bazaar there are hundreds of tiny shops with for example kitchen- and baking supplies, party decorations, jewelry and crystals, home decor, beautiful wooden board games, toys and much more. Just on the outskirts of Spice Bazaar you will find some really, really good and genuine, small restaurants. There you will find authentic Turkish food at affordable prices and the taste is divine! See my other reviews for examples.

The Spice Bazaar is an amazing place and an absolute must see while in Istanbul. Sellers are friendly and not as pushy as at the Grand Bazaar. Prices are also pretty decent when compared to Grand Bazaar. However, I found my greatest bargains at shops behind or around the Spice Bazaar. Do yourself a favour: get a tea or fresh orange juice at the little kiosk just inside Gate 6 and enjoy it outside at their sitting area and just watch life pass by!

Walking in Misri Bazaar (Old Bazaar/Grand Bazaar) is like you are traveling on the back time, or like a time travel. Beautiful architecture and the old designs of the building makes this place unique. I was in Bazaar to buy some sweets and spices as a souvenirs for my friends and family in Pakistan. And got some delicious sweets from here. Prices are not too much here as compare to other places in Istanbul, and people are so friendly as well. And the best thing, Misir Bazaar is ♿ Accessible for wheelchairs and for the people with different abilities.

Beautiful architecture, colorful displays, mostly friendly people. Things tend to be overpriced in these tourist areas, but it's definitely worth a visit to walk through and enjoy the atmosphere! I was told stall 51 and 44 have better prices, but can't confirm.

Best market, not over crowded like grand bazaar, in good condition, good rates. Am surprised why not many tourists come here. You can find all shopping essentials here. Overall experience ia very good. We did loads of shopping here. Highly underrated. Near Emonunu tram stop. Outside there is very nice local hustle bustle and a market where you can find a lot of things from cheese to nuts etc worth a visit

The bazaar being true to it's reputation offers good value for money. We got spices, tea, a couple souvenirs and Turkish Delights from there. Arslan Baba offered the best value in delights and teas. But do remember to negotiate, very hard.

(Translated by Google) ?Egyptian Spice Market: what to buy? Impossible, having arrived in Istanbul, not to go to the Egyptian bazaar - full to the eyeballs of fragrant aromas of spices and coffee, and of course, visitors too! The Egyptian market is always crowded. Get ready to bump around while digging through the crowd.  In a historical building at every step, barkers are at every counter! It’s impossible to stick your nose to spices - immediately physiognomists-sellers rush to you, famously defining your Russian language and immediately offering you everything in your native language! (They were enriched - crossed out! ? No, well, really: the degree of annoyance - there is no higher !!) The Egyptian market - although somewhere in an unspecified place smoothly transitions to the Grand Bazaar - it is still not the Grand Bazaar, yes! (Dad is not your mom, yes! ?)) In a good way - the Egyptian market is not the Grand Bazaar. Because the Grand Bazaar is a place purely for tourists, and the Egyptian market is still not, it is for everyone: for tourists and for locals. You can buy souvenirs, and all sorts of valuable (both priceless and priceless things for every taste. You can buy bed linens and all kinds of textiles, Turkish cups and coffee cups, cezves and lokumniki and a mug with the inscription Istanbul.? You can buy Turkish coffee of the famous brand Mehmet Effendi (everyone knows this place? There is an open row on the right side, there is a point where coffee is constantly ground and grinded and sold by weight in odorous paper bags! If you don’t know the place, you’ll find it by smell, don’t even worry! ?) You can buy all kinds of cheeses: they will offer you a try, try for health! In general, everyone will offer you a try. Only express a desire. You can buy a mechanical juicer: shove the pomegranates and press. You can buy dried tomatoes, dried eggplant and peppers (and then stuff and stew them, very tasty) there is still dried okra. You can buy salted olives (and they will pack them in a vacuum bag for the plane), buy fragrant teas. You can buy Turkish delight, and again I offer an open shopping arcade on the right, it’s both cheaper and more cross-country - fresher than Turkish delight. You can buy a piece of Istanbul and take it with you .. (Original) ?

A huge bazaar with huge varieties of spices and candies. 1. Without doubt, it is one of the most famous covered shopping complex in Turkey. 2. There are many over priced stuffs over there. Remember to bargain as most of them will charge you more than it should be. The staff are overwhelming friendly, so you can try many sweets as you want before choosing what you want to buy exactly. 3. Even though the stuff are over priced, you can still train your bargaining skill over there or browse them. It is never a disadvantage of going to a place without buying things. The most important thing is you experience it. 4. Anyway, remember to bring enough money if you want to spend your money over there and be careful of pick pockets :)

Wherever you go in Turkey and they build it for tourists, you might get screwed, suggest to buy more in standard shops and spend time in touristic area just to see how beautiful they build it. Leave shopping somewhere else, specially if you are a foreigner who live in Turkey. I wish I could communicate with Turkish flew that the theory of selling something to tourists in wrong and unfair prices and quality will not work anymore, people can write about your country, about your shop, about you and you can't manage the consequences of your behavior, nothing will remain secret. There are many great people in Turkey like everywhere else, but due to language barrier, you can ask them to stop those crooks for the sake of your country image in the world.

Have the opportunity to admire the historical buildings and enjoy the life of the people that's moving around u like the bees in a field full of flowers. Even before u go inside to this market the aroma of spices is all over. Your feelings starts to awake and you are waiting forward for this amazing mini trip to the tastes and senses. Everything in life must have the taste of your fav spices.. So go on enter into this magic world and pick your own favorite flavor !🌹

Spices, dried fruits, nuts and seeds are among the many treasures to be found at this bazaar also known as the Spice Market. The place is beautiful and seemingly endless - there’s stalls upon stalls both inside and outside selling spices, herbs, baklava, nuts, Turkish delight etc. It was fantastic to walk around and take pictures but almost impossible to stop and actually look at anything without being forced to try something and then being pressured into the sales pitch. Just be confident on what you want to try and buy else you will be forced to take everything. I would recommend visiting as it’s a beautiful building but just make sure you’re confident in saying “NO THANK YOU.” Try not a must you buy. Somethings are just too sweet. But it's colorful and beautiful. Worth a visit.

Beautiful bazaar full of different stores of spices and stuff like that. Even if you are not interested in buying anything, you should definitely pass through if it's on your way.

Huge market, best in Turkey. However, everyone should be extremely careful! There are many thieves watching tourists and follow them closely. They try to take your bag, wallet, cell phone and other stuff using the advantage that there are too many people and through the technique of distraction they try to steal you without realizing nothing at all

Also called the Egyptian Bazar or Spice Market is one of the largest markets in Istanbul dating back to 1664. Very beautiful and well maintained shops with beautiful display of traditional pots, fancy light and chandeliers!! Currently on sale are spices, Turkish delight and other sweets, jewellery, souvenirs, and dried fruits and nuts. As name suggests variety of local spices and condiments and serving as spice centre!! A worth visiting market!!

This is a five star Bazaar with 2-3 star prices and shop keepers. The latter are very forceful about wanting you to enter their shop, regardless if you are willing or not. The shops vary from nuts and dried fruits, tourist nick nacks, perfumes, Turkish ornaments and so on. The Bazaar itself is a must see given its historical significance and the beautiful architecture. However, avoid buying things in this Bazaar as you will pay 2-3 times the prices charged in other areas where the locals shop. There are more reasonably priced shops in the nearby and less glamorous old Bazaar, jut as the local shoppers and they will guide you if they speak English.

This place is way better than the Grand Bazaar (which lately became a tourist rip-off, mostly). Be sure to check out the bazaar outside of the building as well! Some of the best Künefe in the town can be found there!

It was really interesting place!! Thought we were in Japan. Everybody talked to us in very fluent Japanese, asking to take a look the store. Never seen so many non Japanese speaks so good Japanese. Some could even have very good conversations. Besides mixture of culture, the building were newer and nicer, and easier to find same store later, we end up shopping a lot of stuff here since they have more than spices. Every shop offer you to sample Turkish delights, so just by going through the bazaar, you can get full. Very interesting place.

This place is also known as the Egyptian Spice Market or just Spice Market. Despite the name, you can buy even exotic items such as saffron, caviar and gold and silver jewellery. A very colourful place. Very open to bargaining. Also remember, the prices are much better inside than closer to the entrance.

One of the most colorful places in all of turkiye. All shops are decorated as a piece of art. Can be super tempting for shopaholic. The choices for spices, sweets and artifacts are amazing. Must visit when the market is in its full glory. Don't forget to bargain as every item is over priced as compared to market price. A delight for the color lovers, highly recommended.

Located in the old part of the city, the market looks amazing. The decorations are super nice, the stalls are filled with goods and everything is very tidy. Great place to get things like spices, dried fruit, Turkish delights, etc. I just walked through here with a tour group but did not buy anything. Nice place to walk through and check out, crazy how this is the market for hundreds of years.

Marhaba 👋 The Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Bazaar are two of Istanbul's most popular markets, and they offer visitors a unique shopping and culinary experience. Located close to each other, these two bazaars are not to be missed if you're looking to explore the city's vibrant markets. The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest covered markets in the world, with over 4,000 shops selling everything from textiles and ceramics to jewelry and souvenirs. It's a bustling hub of activity, and the maze-like streets can be overwhelming at first, but it's an exhilarating experience to wander through the narrow alleys and discover the hidden gems within. The vendors are friendly and welcoming, and bargaining is a must if you want to get the best deals. The Egyptian Bazaar, also known as the Spice Bazaar, is a smaller market located just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Bazaar. As its name suggests, it specializes in spices, but you'll also find a range of other products such as Turkish delight, dried fruits, and nuts. The aroma of the spices is intoxicating, and it's a great place to pick up some unique ingredients for your own cooking or as gifts for friends and family. One of the unique features of both markets is the opportunity to eat as you shop. The Grand Bazaar has a number of small cafes and restaurants where you can stop for a traditional Turkish tea or coffee, or even a full meal. The Egyptian Bazaar also has a few food stalls where you can sample some local snacks and sweets. Overall, the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Bazaar are both must-visit destinations for anyone visiting Istanbul. They offer a rich cultural experience, with colorful displays of traditional items and lively interactions with local vendors. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a first-time visitor to Turkey, these markets are sure to leave a lasting impression. Note 📝! Additionally, it's a good idea to have Turkish Lira on hand when shopping at these markets, as some vendors may only accept local currency. You can exchange your currency at the bazaar , I think it’s the best rates.

The best shopping bazaar in Istanbul it’s just amazing. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else the prices are amazing. The people are amazing. The food is amazing you if you come to stumble, you have to stop by and take a look. It’s where the actual Turkish people go shopping.

The Egyptian Bazaar in Istanbul is a vibrant and bustling market that offers a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and scents. Its centuries-old history and exotic charm make it a must-visit destination for tourists. The bazaar's narrow lanes are lined with shops selling a wide variety of spices, sweets, teas, and other traditional Turkish products. While the experience is undeniably enchanting, it's important to note that prices here can be higher compared to other parts of the city. Bargaining skills are a valuable asset when shopping in the Egyptian Bazaar, as haggling can often lead to more reasonable prices. Despite the relatively higher costs, the cultural experience and the opportunity to bring home authentic Turkish treasures make it a worthwhile stop for any traveler in Istanbul.

Absolutely loved visiting the bazaar, which to my surprise, was extremely well maintained, clean and organized. The stalls are all beautifully arranged and a sight to see. And unlike my expectations, vendors were respectful and not overly pushy. Definitely worth the experience!

Quite nice market. Can recommend if you are looking for good quality spices, teas or perfumes. As it is a tourist place you cannot expect to make a good bargain, although the quality is much better than back home. All the products are properly sealed for transportation and we had no issues at the airport.

Very nice bazaar with a lot of spices.... a bit crowded If you are looking for some Turkish sweets or some traditions Turkish stuff, then you are at the right place. The inside of Spice Bazzar is full of shops selling clothes, spices, sweets and outside the Bazzar there are many shops selling plants of flowers, decorations, vegetables and fruits and related products. You may also get seeds if different plants from here. There is also a large sitting area with benches and a main fountain. Yeni walideha Mosque is also nearby. Amazing place and you may spent hours Great shopping. Great culture. Great coffee. Great everything. Spend a day tinkering through the many stalls. Ask the local store holders what you are looking for, because there is so much to see, the chances of randomly finding something are tough, but I bet it's there!

(Translated by Google) It is one of the places where guests coming from outside the city must be taken. The harmony of colors welcomes everyone with its unique smell. The dim lights, spice and coffee odors that glide from the showcases are fascinating. I recommend you to buy rose tea. Throw a few in a bottle of water and sip your rose-scented water. (Translated by Google) I think the most important economic indicators of the Ottoman Empire being the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. The meeting of the spices coming from one end of the world with its buyers here screams the reality of “this is the center of the world”. When I look at the current situation, I think we are very poor in terms of business. Shop owners serve in style and standards that are not considered universal at all. You understand the existence of an environment in which the tourist will never feel safe. If you add the factor that the prices are "touristic", you do not want to replace yourself as a tourist. Security practices at the entrances are exaggerated and frightened. It should be the basic principle that every application to be carried out here should be based on the anxiety of “how tourists meet”. I think that an understanding that comes to mind when spice is mentioned should be abandoned. This approach does nothing but contribute to the bad image of the Turkish people. How can this be managed for a moment in a European country or in the USA? question, you will understand more easily what I mean.

Place is great but you may get overwhelmed with the outstanding customer service there. When you passing the shops, they are keen to attract customers, especially tourist. Make sure you always bargain before forking out your money as some of the items are not worth what they're asking for. Great place to buy gifts and be wary of the replica items and the quality of it.

A very interesting place indeed, only that it's not so clean, people don't wear mask in these times, and there are many thieves. At least it has many things to buy. Altough, the water sliding the stairs in front of one of the entries really makes you feel like in the Babylonian Gardens.

Super big bazar place, it is a wow!! Stands and little shops with spices, tea, clothes, perfumes, jewelry, carpets and so many more. The amount of counterfeit products here are incredible, everything you want and very well made. The downside is that at every step, the vendors scream and shout to come and buy from them. Can be very intimidating and not pleasant having them on top of your head at each step. Also the prices are depending on your face, you must negotiate with them but usually you get a bit ripped of.

The Spice Bazar is super clean and tidy place to stroll around and through, with great historic importance, as well as beautiful afrescos and paintings on the ceiling. Is much nicer than the Gran Bazar, but sellers are more clinging to jump on you for trying to sell you anything. Prices are not great, you will have to negociate tough for something you really want to buy, but the products here certainly are of good quality. The sellers speak a great variety of languages to try interest you into something.

Got my self a ring but real highlight was going on the roof of one of the buildings that make up the bazaar. Another cool thing is you can pretty much haggle with anyone you're buying from.

Amazing atmosphere and in my opinion, a much more worthwhile visit than the grand bazaar. Lively and colourful. Enjoy the experience and don't get too bogged down about getting ripped off... It's part of the experience.

I liked this market much more than the Grand Bazaar. Beautiful colours and smells. Of course, be prepared to be called into every shop you pass even if you just stop for a quick look. You must bargain to get a good price. I'm sure we were overcharged for saffron and turkish delight but it's part of the experience I guess! Lots of stores outside as well.

The Egyptian Bazar is just AMAZING! Very nice, colorful and cozy place. It contains shops selling all kinds of delicious Turkish delights, special tea, souvenirs, handmade ceramics and everything you can think about! Sellers are very friendly and most of them speak English and Arabic. It is my very favorite place to shop!

Awesome place. Amazing spices are kesar in too much variety. I really liked that place. I have visited too many markets but that one was amazing. What an amazing interior special on ceiling. Top was just amazing. Little little shops. And it was like everything at one place. There is place like it for shopping in Istanbul.

If this was 5 stars it was in 1935, now 2 stars at most. Very run down, restaurant uninviting, food was average all inclusive selection. Staff all very lovely just let down by the buildings and decor. I was given gold band upgrading me to Regency status with private beach area a cess (not worth it) and private restaurant (better than main) and bar area. The only picture worth posting is a sunset.

Mısır Çarşısı is one of the largest bazar you can see/find in Istanbul. Misir bazar is not over crowded like ground pazar and very organized. If you are in love with cooking and spices, this place is a heaven for you. When you walk in to this lovely place, you can smell everything ( hope you don’t have allergy) Most staffs are very friendly and bilinguals, ton of different spices and snacks to taste and shop. I highly recommend to visit misir bazar early in the morning when it is not too crowded so that you can enjoy each store being rushed through. Check out all the pictures I’ve uploaded and hit a like for me if you are a true spice lover and enjoyed my photos 😉

The spice market is an amazing place that reminds me of Egypt. The scents, flavors. The store keepers will want you to try their tea, sweets and various spices. The spices are amazing and the shopping experience is unique. You won’t find a better place to look for spices and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience.

Known as spice bazaar.... Where James Bond Sky Falls filmed here. Lively and super interesting places that you should be effective you are in Istanbul Turkey. This ancient bazaar have so much to offer. From local and traditional goods till new. Those who are looking for last minute souvenirs should shop here too. Famous with Spices as it was named after that. It could be very crowded on a weekend and early morning shopping are recommend.

Just like any bazaar here, it is chaos in a good way. Be prepared to haggle as always. I went here to buy a backgammon set and got what I wanted. Pricy and all but if you know how to negotiate and haggle with any store owner, you’ll be fine. The spice offerings are of course wide but I can say that almost each spice store really just offered the same thing. Watch out for the free candy and/or tea… it’s definitely a ploy to get you in the store. A polite “no, thank you” will do! Reading about its history will make you appreciate it more. Either just wiki it before going or go join a tour! Good historical landmark to visit. Enjoy the bazaar!

What an experience. A must do when I’m Istanbul. Far better prices and far better custom relations then the Grand Bazaar. Can be a lot of the same things but not as bad as the Grand. Don’t forget to work on the price. They see tourists coming and are not afraid to push the price up. While it may still be cheap they will go down by 100 or even 200 Lira. A great experience.

It's a nice place to buy Turkish delight, coffee, different types of tea, nuts and spices. The shopping assistants are very kind and offering you the things you're interested in for free to taste. We tried three different kinds of tea and bought all of them. The price of saffron here is very cheap when compared to the price in Europe. I also bought some spices; they were all very good! All the shops in the spice bazaar sell the same stuff, so you don't need to get confused about where to shop. And the prices are kinda fixed.

We loved the Egyptian Bizarre. It was what you’d expect it to be: crowded, lots of stores trying to get you to come in, and lots of smells or spices. It was clean and really quite nice inside. The Turkish Delight was so good. Usually in the States when I’ve had it I didn’t care for it, it’s different here. Stop into a shop and try all the different kinds they have (the rolls of it especially). You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful ancient market that transports you back in time. The bazaar and surrounding street stores are enchanting. When it comes to shopping, many stores offer similar items, like Turkish delights, Turkish coffee & tea, spices. It is a popular tourist spot. Consequently, expect high touristy prices. I went there just to experience what the hype was all about.

A good shopping place for dry fruits and nuts. Many many and many shops are there. You can preserve some of the sweets or mithai made of nuts etc for six months. I do not advice. Get the same for taste. Too much sweets full of sugar. Anyhow o e has its own choice. Market is good. Covered with yellow roof. Give a luxurious look.

Spice Bazzar is a "must see" if you're visiting Istanbul. Easily accessible through public transport. If staying in Fatih, it is walking distance from key tourist attractions. The bazzar offers Turkish products: spices, olives, baklava, Turkish delights, all sorts of teas, souvenirs. Very busy as it's also popular with the locals. Parking in the area could be a problem. Not friendly for strollers and wheelchairs.

There are 86 shops in the Spice Bazaar, which has six doors. In the 17th century, the ships coming from the Far East countries were renowned as the Egyptian Bazaar because of the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean route, they came to Istanbul by visiting the port of Egypt. Bazaar Along with traditional foods such as various exotic spices, herbs, herbal teas, Turkish delight, cezerye, dried nuts brought to the port of the Golden Horn, Chinese silk, incense, peeled scents and souvenirs are sold. This tradition is still continuing in the Egyptian Bazaar, which used to sell all kinds of natural healing products such as pastes and ointments made with various plant mixtures. Very beautiful historical bazaar, commercially it’s one of the most active places in Istanbul, it’s always crowded, the place has been renovated so not a lot of the original interior design remains, it’s full of shops that sell Turkish sweets, nuts and snacks, the prices are high in there for sure compared to other shops in the same area, overall it’s a nice spot but you won’t lose anything at all if you didn’t visit it.

One of the places I really like to visit when I come to Istanbul, also do not want to buy anything specific… Just get to walk around and feel the taste of Istanbul… for the name Egyptian market .. but all the special halkom flavors are there .. gems .. and many more amazing things for all One and one

  • 4/5 Yewei Z. 2 years ago on Google
This is one of the best local market I've been to in Istanbul! The price is fair and the varieties are plenty! It's quite crowded though so beware of that and also your belongings! It is also normal to bargain a bit here. I do hope the owner could be less talkative... It's a bit exhausting... If I want, I will definitely buy! If not, I don't think by talking so much to me change the result.

An historical masterpiece of Istambul that is a shopping paradise in a Turkish style. I enjoyed shopping for good quality Turkish delight, spice, honey, saffron, dried fruits, nuts, condiments etc. Most of sellers were very friendly, even if is better to take a look around before buy to negotiate and bargain better. To me is better buying inside the market instead of the surrounding area; dealers and more reliable here.

Great place to do some spice, cheese or meat shopping. If you need some authentic product such as Turkish pastrami, special sorts of Turkish cheese or some special Turkish teas, this is the right place. People are in general very friendly, they search the dialogue and are very helpful when you have specific wishes or questions. And if you are seriously interested in some products you might even get a tea offered. This market is significantly smaller than the grand bazaar however, to my taste it is much nicer.

Nice place to shop, full of spices, tea,t urkish delight, scarfs and gold jewelries . You must enter many shops before buying something. It is known that you can and should negotiate the price of everything. The starting price might be double or more than the real price. It depends on you if you want to spend that much. The sellers are very kind and they offer you sweets/tea/turkish coffee. You can also check the shops outside the bazar. The prices might be smaller. But you need to be patient. Also, if you are a coffee lover, you should buy some freshly grounded coffee from Mehmet Efebdi (here is always a queue, but it moves very fast)

  • 3/5 hannan a. 2 years ago on Google
Good variety of spices and teas but the prices are too high. Seems like Turkish Muslims don't read the Islamic teachings about fair profit in trade. They just want to rip off tourists for about 10 times the price. If some one asks 500 lira per kg. Ask him 50 lira per kg. And don't be bothered by the faces they make. Best part is to take one spice from one shop and others from different. Because each shop has some teas/ spices at low price but others are at higher price. In the end, it's all the same.

  • 5/5 Nicholas Christopher H. 2 years ago on Google
Charming! Not to be mistaken for the “Grand Bazar” this is the more local, less gritty, less pushy; supposedly more authentic local attraction. It is most definitely more sort of boho, spices, oils, sweets, little treasures. Lovely and unforgettable, albeit rustic as you may expect and chaotic, but less so than other similar places. I bought some Turkish delight and patchouli and trinkets.

You can feel that the merchants are extremely professional in trade. If you can imagine that for more than 600 years those families live by trade and merchant. Try always to negotiate the prices. Don't buy anything without negotiating, its over priced, crowded and alive, the Bazar makes you feel you are in the center of the merchandise world. Super worth it to visit.

  • 4/5 Stefani B. 2 years ago on Google
Covered market with lots of shops where you can find homemade teas, spices, coffee, sweets and decorations. All the shops have pretty much the same content, but it’s nicely decorated and tidy so it’s nice to see a lot of such shops in a row.

  • 5/5 Hamid S. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful Bazar, they have done a great job by using bright colors, right amount of lighting on old structure to create a warm welcoming place to visit. Some items might seem a bit more expensive than other places but of course there should be a price to pay to shop in such a beautiful place compare to some vendors spreading a plastic sheet on the ground to display their products. And with my experience every vendor we faced was happy to show the products and even insist to try the edibles. Highly recommend a visit if you're in Istanbul.

This is amazing place with its historical decorations. It’s worth to visit and buy the sweets, coffee, and first high copy bags and brands. Negotiations very very important to close the deal. Mi friend and I love species, tea blends and resins to burn, so this was the best place ever. Not only is a traditional and beautiful place, but also they offer you tea to try and if you buy from them they will vacuum seal your purchase in plastic, so there will be no problem at the airport. You can also find : soap, esential oils, teas, coffee, dried flower buds and so on.

A Mixed Experience at Istanbul's Grand Bazaar As a recent visitor to Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, I found the experience to be a mix of positives and negatives. Here's my average review, taking into account the following aspects: Overpriced Products: One noticeable aspect of the Grand Bazaar was the higher prices compared to stores outside its premises. While the bazaar offers a wide range of goods, including textiles, jewelry, spices, and souvenirs, it's important to exercise caution and compare prices before making a purchase. Exploring the surrounding areas may provide better deals for similar items. Stunning Architecture: The grandeur of the bazaar's domes and structures is truly captivating. The intricate designs and ornate details create a visually striking atmosphere. Walking through the vibrant, bustling alleys, I couldn't help but appreciate the historical and cultural significance embedded in the architecture of this iconic marketplace. Diverse Range of Options: The Grand Bazaar offers a vast selection of products, catering to a variety of interests and tastes. Whether you're searching for traditional Turkish carpets, delicate ceramics, or unique antiques, there is no shortage of options. The sheer diversity of goods available makes the Grand Bazaar an intriguing destination for shoppers and those looking to explore Turkish craftsmanship. Overall, my experience at the Grand Bazaar was average. While the bazaar's architectural beauty and the wide range of options were highlights, the noticeably higher prices compared to outer stores left me somewhat disappointed. It's advisable to approach purchases with caution and explore alternative options in the vicinity for potentially better deals. Nonetheless, the Grand Bazaar remains an iconic and culturally significant landmark that offers a glimpse into Istanbul's vibrant history and commercial heritage.

I recently visited the Egyptian Bazaar, also known as the Spice Bazaar, in Istanbul and was blown away by the vibrant sights, sounds, and smells. The market is a feast for the senses, with an endless array of colorful spices, teas, sweets, and other products on offer. The vendors were friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed chatting with them and learning more about their products. I particularly enjoyed sampling the different types of Turkish delight and baklava, which were some of the best I've ever tasted. The market was quite busy when I visited, but the crowds added to the lively atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Egyptian Bazaar for anyone looking to experience the flavors and culture of Istanbul. It's a unique and unforgettable experience that shouldn't be missed.

Beautiful space, intriguing aromas of spices and attractive views of Turkish delight. Very crowded and busy, with the shop owners actively inviting you in to try / buy. The streets just outside the main bazaar building might be a bit less overwhelming but with equally good selection and prices.

The bazaars in Turkey are a sensory delight, with their vibrant colors, exotic scents, and bustling energy. The intricate architecture and traditional crafts create a unique atmosphere, while the friendly locals and delicious food add to the charm. It's a truly beautiful and unforgettable experience!

Interesting place to do some sightseeing. However, if you want to do some shopping, be cautious and prepare to bargain. Most of shops carry similar merchandise, but with different qualities. For example, our tour guide said that baklava (i.e. Turkish sweets) traditionally was made with honey, but some (maybe majority of them) were made of brown sugar and would be cheaper, etc.

Very interesting spice market (these days there are more sweets than spices). The sales tactics of the shopkeepers are quite aggressive, though - everyone wants your attention and expects you to haggle.

A great medieval market in the heart of Istanbul. The spice bazaar has many different things to offer including different sorts of tea, olives, chillis and bathing items. The market building was really old and beautiful. The prices were a bit too high but the collection was pretty nice.

Well this place is simply manic. Wanted to buy spices but its too daunting. It was spice heaven will be back in the evening and hopefully it will be quieter. Opens from 8am -730pm. Not only spices but turkish delight and other sweets, jewellery, souvenirs, and dried fruits and nuts. Over 80 shops to choose from.

Busy market and a better one than Grand Bazaar, in my opinion. There are lots of colours and smells here abd its great for photo opportunities. The prices are more or less fixed, so not much negotiating is available. It is located right outside the mosque so it's easy to find.

  • 5/5 vansh m. 8 months ago on Google
The architecture is amazing and the market is humongous. The market is only good for doing window shopping and I would not advice one to buy anything from here actually. The prices are inflated too much considering it is a very ‘touristy’ spot and thus one should avoid buying from here. It is generally famous for buying spices, raw nuts and even jewellery items

  • 5/5 Adem S. 8 months ago on Google
A very beautiful bazaar, super clean and tidy and as always the people working here are very friendly and offering taste testing to some degree. There is a bit of everything and one of the few places where you can find smoked meat that I've seen. Good walk through.

100 stalls of eye-popping exotically displayed goods. From Turkish delight to rugs to gold jewelry to dried eggplant and okra strands. The smells are intoxicating and the fresh produce is arranged to perfection. The entire experience is a feast for the senses. It’s easy to get carried away making purchases, it can get expensive! Don’t ask how I know 😂

Also known as the Spice Bazaar, this place is an absolute feast for the senses. It’s just wonderful to see the workings of such an amazing place. I over the thoughtful way all the stores presented their wares and enjoyed the shopping experience there.

The Bazar in general is a decent experience If you have never seen it before. But If you have, you will notice that the general quality of the merchandise has dropped. I can understand items being at a higher price point due to location...but If I pay double or triple the normal price, at least give me high quality. Regards, of course If you are in Istanbul you must visit the Bazar area ... My recommendation is to walk around and discover the smaller areas, you can always find hidden gems in Istanbul
