More than the taste of the food, the caring attitude of the owner and the nice piazza are the best parts of the place. He really takes care of the people. There is no reservations for the lunch, there might be some waiting time. He offers white wine while we were waiting. This is very exciting interesting but there was also no pasta!!! This is first time in Italy. I like the place and recommend.

Not the typical “osteria” you would find in Italy, this restaurant is more akin to a tapas resto where you get to try plenty of dishes in one sitting. Food is minimalist, straightforward and absolutely delicious. The place is run by a close-knit team that is proud and confident of the quality they deliver. A gem of Tuscany

We loved eating here. First thing we were told was that there was no pasta- and to be honest to our surprise we were delighted there was none! Everything we ordered was really good and worth the wait (approx 20-30 mins). Service was fast and friendly.

The owner is very friendly. He welcomes you, let you know they don’t have pasta and will come to each table who doesn’t know Italian and translate for you and give you options. It was nice to sit in the square and people what while eating a light lunch. You can get a half liter of wine for $6 Euros. Their bruschetta with pecorino and truffle oil was delicious and the tomatoes they used on the caprese so fresh and plump. I would recommend stopping here for lunch.

Quaint family run Ostaria in the centre of Pienza. Lovely outdoor seating. There is also indoor option both on ground & 1st floor. Regional, seasonal, fresh food. Limited items , more like appetizers. But wonderfully tasty. The bean & bread soup & grilled Pecorino cheese seem to be there signature dishes. If you are just 2 persons, the owner gives you options of getting a mix of 2 dishes in one, so that you can taste a variety. Very nice house wine. Owner is enthusiastic about his offerings and is ever willing ro give you suggestions as per your tastes. Loved the total experience.

It is a MUST! If you ever go to Pienza you should not miss it! It doesn't take reservations so try to go there early. The food is so simple and so tasty! Everything is fresh and amazing. The owner is one of a kind.

Excellent meal / experience. The food is kind of tapas style. No big plates, but try a number of different Tuscan specialities. As they told us at the door - “no pasta, no steak”. The bean soup is as good as everyone says. Get it. The salami with fennel and the grilled pecorino were also excellent. Reasonable prices, exceptional service. Apparently this place has been in a few movies too!

This restaurant is every bit as good as people say and serves beautiful home-made Tuscan cuisine outside the conventional pizza/pasta/steak dishes. The Zuppa Di Pane E Fagioli (bean soup) was delicious and wholesome, and still remains one of the food highlights of my trip to Italy. My partner ordered the arugula pecorino salad and the pecorino alla griglia (grilled pecorino) which was to-die-for. The service was wonderful and warm. We had to wait a few minutes to get in but it was totally worth it in my view. The owner told us to help ourselves to some Brunello wine while we were waiting for a table - no complaints.
