DOUCE patisserie is situated in the heart of Genova, next to Palazzo Ducale, P. Ferreira, two Basilica. Access is easy either going up walking from the sea shore and Aquario di Genova or from the main shopping street of XX Settembre. The sitting area is modern styled. The place offers wide collection of patisserie, very delicious. It has also good choices of tea& Coffee . The menu offers quick dishes according to certain hour during the day so you can find hot drinks only, lunch menu from 11-16, then dinner menu later on. I think that the cold dishes of salads are good to order. Of course hot drinks and cakes. As for the hot dishes during the day, I would recommend to have local Italian Genovese dishes elsewhere. The ambience is cool. Place is very nice.. Enjoy the photos... worth it.

The location is great and the sunbathing chairs are really comfortable, but after half an hour of sitting I’m still waiting for the waitress to show up and take my order. I tried to wave at them multiple times but nothing happened. I went inside to ask them if I can order there, they told me that I can’t and they will come to the table. Ok but when? 😅 My friend had to go and bring a waitress to our table. I ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail and I received an alcoholic one. When I tried to explain it to multiple waitresses, they either didn’t (want) to understand or said that it’s not possible to make a non-alcoholic cocktail. At the end I left without paying for that drink (I paid for the fingerfood I had). Terrible experience.

Takes a very long time to get served, expensive, and not worth the wait

Really nice Patisseries restaurant. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cafe nearby the Fountain.

There was no waitress outside, we went inside to order We were told to wait outside No one came to seat us so we picked a random table No one came to take the order, we had to wave to the waitress many times When she came she only listened to half of our order and then left in the middle of the sentence One of us didn't have the time to order a drink because she left. While she was passing by I asked her for another fork, thinking that she would stop so we could order another drink, she nodded while running away My fried then waved for her again to ask for his drink, she nodded back then turned around and never returned It's like they don't want you to be there or to order 😂 Food and drinks average, I liked the tables outside

Good spot to sit, and have a rest. We didn't have an issue with the staff, they were polite and friendly. They did bring the wrong drink out, but they quickly fixed it, and it wasn't an issue. Desserts and drinks were great.

Ok, food is high standard (innovative cuisine with a touch of frenchy-Mediterranean style) with fresh, excellent ingredient. Location is literally my fav (in the centre of the world! Old town, cathedral, main 19th century square and the harbour at a stone’s throw.) But what I am really enthusiastic about, is the incredibly kind (for Genoa 😂) and warm customer service of the waiting stuff. Always kind and helpful with any requests. Applause deserved guys! Really made my day (my angela waiters were Luciana and Daniele 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻)

Good coffee and desserts. We had a nice break here after walking in the city.

We arrived just as they were closing, however the lady closing up said it was fine to get some desserts to go. We chose 2 different flavours of ice cream for our children (crème and chocolate) and they were, I think, the nicest ice cream we have ever had! So rich, creamy and full of decadent flavour! Then me and my husband had a dessert each, a lemon and Prosecco one and a chocolate one… just wow! They were both delicious but the chocolate one was unbelievably delicious and I’m not normally one to buy a chocolatey dessert, but I’m so glad I did!

Slow service and very unfriendly staff outside. Overheard them complaining about a table next to us. We moved tables because of the sun and they were very annoyed. Next to all of this the beers are €6! There are lots and lots of nice cafes to go to in Genoa. You should definitely skip this one. On a positive note, the bartender behind the register was friendly.

Popular spot with spectacular pastries. Try their cornetto con crema, those are heavenly. Service is somewhat forgetful and slow, the place seems to be understaffed. But I would go back just for the pastries.

Good cafe with two locations in the center of Genoa. Reasonable food options, and my choice was quite tasty.

Super location and open 7 days per week. Sweets are great. Service could be better and some prices a bit too high.

Poor service from waiting staff. Had to go inside to order drinks just to be told to sit down again as the waitress followed me out and took my drink at the table. Made the experience uncomfortable

15 minutes waiting to ask for a drink. 20 minutes more waiting for the drinks... A waste of time. I would not go there.

After all the years this cafe has been in one of the most beautiful squares in the city I just CANNOT understand how they haven't managed yet to get it together. The staff always feels stressed out and cranky and they just CANNOT keep on top of the service. The staff treat customers like they are annoying.

I remember that I visited this dessert&bar three years ago and had a very good experience at that time, but this time I was very disappointed. In addition to the location advantage, the staff's service really bad!!and the customer needs to ask everything by themselves 😔

The cappuccino was perfect and the pastry was flaky. Perfect way to start the day. UPDATE: During my two week (so far) visit in Genoa I have ordered a cappuccino at many cafes. This café makes the best!

If you go there you have to visit gelateria Douce and have strawberry and basil mousse and cake made with prosseco and to burn some witches ;)
