This is a fantastic place to let the Italian culture wake up all your senses. Delicious fresh food, top-notch service and great environment. The best thing you can actually do is go there and trust whatever they offer to prepare for you. They hold the secret to elevate the panini-making art. I promise, you won’t regret it. Be prepared to wait a bit in line, because this place is very popular. However, the waiting is worth every second. Hope you have a great time!

Easily best panini I’ve had in Italy. Try the chefs choice sandwich - 8€, went by myself so the meat & cheese board was a bit pricey for 1 person. Ask for a table, no reason to stand in line when table service is completely free. Can get very busy so I went 2 days in a row before noon.

Best sandwich experience ever. Just go there. Fight the crowd or wait for an hour but just go there. It's definitely worth it! Btw, we paid 7€ for a bit sandwich - only half is in the photo.

We have had a delicious lunch at Borderi and we were happy with it. The last day of my holiday I asked to make take away for my son two sandwiches. I paid 16€. The guy who works there as an entertainer with a hat, prepared my order. I asked him not to cut them in the middle. Anyway he did what he wanted not what customer wanted. He packed my order that I didn’t see the sandwiches. After I arrived to home I was very disappointed. He cheated me with what he packed for me. Almost nothing inside! Takeaway customer please be careful with this shop! I would never visit your shop again!

We are 2 people and shared a ‘chef’s choice’ sandwich. The whole process of seeing the chef making the sandwich was simply satisfactory - you just see him adding more and more and more toppings, and everything looked absolutely fresh and tasty. By the end of the sandwich making, we were more than ready to take a bite! The place itself also gave you the feeling of ‘they know what they are doing and they know what my stomach will like’. So do pay this place a visit if you are in Siracusa. You won’t be disappointed!

At Caseificio Borderi — TikTokers call this the best sandwich in the world. It was an incredible sandwich for €8. Wait wasn’t too bad and the staff was really nice. The Chef’s Special kinda means whatever they want, but that’s the fun of it. At one point a blow torch came out to roast the dried salami. 🔥🍖🥪 The pistachio pesto did give this sammy a tasty Sicilian flavor. Gotta love a place that sticks to serving high quality ingredients without marking up prices, despite the throngs of eager tourists. Two of us split one sandwich.

A long sandwich bread is cut in two. It is full of good stuff. We shared it with my friend. The price for a sandwich is 7euros.split in two so it is 3.5 euros per person. They have different panini choices and pastes. Lemonsoda was 1.5 and cola the same. It really made us so full.thanks for everything

Excellent sandwiches at a great price and interesting street market. Glad we went but we’ll likely never go back to Sicily. It was an absolute CF getting to and around Syracuse. These people do NOT know how to drive and the region in general is very run down and dirty. 4 stars for the lunch, 1 star for Sicily, 0 stars for Syracuse.

Absolutely delicious paninis with lots of wonderful quality ingredients, friendly staff and divine smoked mozzarella!!! Loved it! And the onion jam … 🤤 Made me super happy! Simply yum!

The best sandwiches in Ortigia! They’re packed full of high quality cold meats and cheeses. You can customise orders or get antipasto style boards if you wish. It’s busy for a reason! It’s situated in the market so it’s fun to sit and watch everything happening around you. Highly recommend this place!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Best sandwiches ever! To eat in you have to order them at the table. To take them out you need to order them inside. They taste delicious and the size is enormous. 100% recommended when visiting Ortigia.

Very good quality and fresh ingredients. We ate one for two people. There was no problem in replacing the meat with fish in my part of the sandwich. Next time I would ask for more vegetables and it would be perfect. Thank you❤️

Excellent experience. The guy behind the counter was handing out things to try, which were all delicious. Got a sharing platter which was pretty amazing. Prices were very reasonable. Most of the food I had on the island was forgettable, this was great.

One of the best sandwiches I've eaten anywhere. Having recently eaten multiple times at the famous al antico vinaio chain, the sandwich here was more flavourful and texturally interesting. Crispy, high quality bread and vibrant fresh cheese, vegetables and flavourful pickles make each bite a delight. Topped with wonderful and kind service ,I.e. making sure I received my 2nd order which I forgot about as I was so full from the first sandwich.

Saw someone at a table with a giant meat and cheese board and decided to stop. We are so glad we did! The platter pictured is the smallest they offer - easily a full meal for 3 hungry adults! 4 types of meat, the most fresh, delicious mozzarella I've ever had (and I'm from Wisconsin), 3 other cheeses, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, honey, rocket greens. Not realizing how big the platter would be, we also got panini #4, which you should still get and take leftovers! Again, portion is massive, and this one is messy with the pistachio pesto, but worth it! Everything pictured was €19. Highly recommend for lunch, they will be closed up by dinner, so best to go early! We had no wait at 12.00 for 2!

The chef's sandwich was about the best sandwich I've ever eaten in my life - aubergines, sun-dried tomatoes, prosciutto and the best quality fresh cheese. Perfection. While we were there the table next to us ordered the biggest meat and cheese platter, which I cheekily also photographed - so we got even more of a feast for the eyes than we paid for.

Wish this was my local so I could try all the combinations on offer. We ordered off the menu but would recommend you walk in to watch sandwiches being made first to work out what combo of meats, cheeses, salad etc you want first before deciding!

Absolutely 1 of the most delicious Italian sandwiches I have ever eaten. Where to start. Borderi, is a must visit if you are in Siracusa. They sell a variety of freshly made sandwiches. You can scan the menu by barcode. You can sit outside on the terrace or order your sandwich inside. Want to order inside? Then you have to draw a number first. They call out your number and then you can order a sandwich. You can also ask them to make a sandwich for you (that's what I did). Making the sandwich is really a show. Watching them prepare the sandwich, you get more and more hungry. The price of the sandwich is 8 euros. For that, you get a large sandwich that they cut into two parts. For lunch, I had enough with 1 part and am already looking forward to eating the second part! Borderi, I will definitely come back again!

A huge sandwich filled with whatever you want, loads of cheese, meat, vegetables, etc for 8€. It was super busy, you might end up waiting for 20-30 minutes, I read it is better to grab a table, but it was completely full, so I did take away. The guys were fun and sweet, I asked the one who made mine to make something he likes. Got a huge chunk of mozzarella while I was waiting in line. I could tell it was a well known place for tourist and local people too. I'd recommend it if you are in Siracusa, because you'll be full. Wow! Great sandwiches. Queues to enter are always long but worth the wait. One sandwich costs 8 euros but they are so huge that there is enough for two people. You choose the ingredients yourself, and there are plenty of them. The cook was making a sandwich and gave me a large piece of smoked mozzarella to try. Cool! Everything is fast, loud and delicious.
