Grifo Hotel Charme & Spa is simply a gem nestled away in the most beautiful of settings. My daughters and I loved our stay and we will definitely return again. Paola the manager was fantastic. When we arrived she greeted us with a cocktail and explained everything about what we should see and do on the island of Ischia. On Paola’s recommendation we went on a boat trip which was unforgettable. We pulled into every inlet and anchored and swam all day in between being spoiled with delicious Italian cuisine. Vito was in charge of the restaurant and ran it like clockwork. The head chef who recently joined Grifo came from a one Michelin Star kitchen and the staff were proud and excited to have him join the team. Needless to say the food superb. Chero made the best cocktails I have ever had which made the beautiful sunsets all the more special. The hotel was immaculate and either a perfect spot for families or equally perfect for a romantic getaway. The location could not be better with everything you need from beaches to restaurants to shopping only a couple of minutes away. This was made all the easier with the brand new hybrid shuttle bus offered by the hotel free of charge! In short, you could not find a better hotel on the island of Ischia. Michael Ireland 🇮🇪

Simply the best experience. Grifo Hotel is a little place of heaven, everything about it is great and pleasant: It has one of the best and friendliest staff ever, out of any hotel in the world, everyone was genuinely amazing and we really bonded with the team. A beautiful and relaxing Spa and thermal bath. A great restaurant with amazing food and vibes, either inside or by the pool. Very cosy rooms with view on the sea and the mountains from the balcony. They also offer a free shuttle to and from the port which is incredibly helpful considering how expensive taxis can be. Hotel Grifo was a magical experience, we have been back home for 24 hours and are already nostalgic of it :) We’ll 100% stay there again at our next trip to Ischia

This hotel has been amazing, extremely accommodating, very clean, and it really made our vacation. They have a set menu at the hotel for lunch and dinner. Dinner gets a new menu every day, If you don’t like something on the menu, Enzo, the dinner manager will accommodate you, just as he did for us many times. There is a great breakfast served in the morning with many options to chose from. The rooms are cozy, comfortable, and immaculately clean. We stayed in 3 rooms, one came with an extra bed which was great when one of our friends had accidentally booked a room without a place for their child to sleep. I only have one “bad”(not even a bad thing) thing to say about the rooms is that the electricity turns off when you take the room key out of the slot which when you are trying to charge something when not in the room you have to leave a room key in. The spa in the basement is incredible, with multiple waters, saunas, and showers to chose from(all felt amazing I recommend following the map I felt so refreshed). The staff is so kind and welcoming, Francesco sings every saturday night and dances which was so fun and amazing. Frederico, the bartender, made lovely drinks and was a treat to talk to. The owners are so kind and accommodating, there is always someone to help if you need. All the staff at the hotel were so helpful and kind and such a pleasure to talk to. Overall this hotel has made my vacation so much more relaxing and has been the most amazing hotel I have stayed at ever! I have loved staying at this hotel, if i could rate it higher I would! Highly recommend if you come to Ischia!!!

I can’t praise hotel grifo enough for the Amazing experience it gave to me and my partner. This was our first time visiting ischia. We spent 2 days at hotel grifo and found the staff go above and beyond to ensure your comfort, the resort is peaceful with beautiful views of both the mountains and the sea, the only shame is I wish we booked longer. We definitely will be returning to hotel grifo in the future! If you are considering staying at hotel grifo I highly recommend you do ! I also recommend trying the restaurant for dinner the food is just delicious

My wife and I spent seven nights at Grifo Hotel Charme so we feel we can give other visitors to Ischia an accurate and genuine insight into this lovely hotel. We were given a spotlessly clean and comfortable room with a view facing the Island of Procida with the coastline of the Bay of Naples visible in the distance. A wonderful sight each morning and each evening! Our room was thoroughly cleaned every day by some very kind smiling ladies. Breakfast can be ordered the evening from an impressive list of options ranging from a typical Italian breakfast to a more Northern European/American breakfast all served in a dining room by the poolside. Guests may also opt for very fine and tasty dinners. Other than being a very elegant hotel, all the staff were friendly, smiling and put themselves out of their way to help us. Two names come to mind; Michele in reception and Antonio, the maitre, in the restaurant area. We visited the beautiful sites of Ischia in our own car which made accessing the remoter parts much easier without having to rely on private or public transport. The hotel is located in a higher tranquil residential area with beautiful views of the sea. Facilities at the hotel include a lovely outdoor swimming pool and a wellness centre which includes a thermal pool, sauna, Turkish bath and a hydromassage pool all of which are included in the price of the room at the hotel. Various types of massages are available on a paid basis. The combination of staying at Grifo Hotel and visiting the wonderful sites of Ischia made our week-long holiday a wonderful experience. Fantastic holiday with a great environment....the owner and the staff are friendly....the rooms are clean and sanitized....the room with an outdoor shower is relaxing....the breakfast is satisfying and the internal spa is a masterpiece .... the location is perfect near the sea and the castiglione thermal park .... the best feauture is the shuttle to go to Ischia port and Casamicciola

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here last summer. The service was very helpful - they booked us an awesome boat tour of the island last-minute and gave us good intel on other places to go. The restaurant and spa were good as well, and room was clean. You’re a bit outside of the main town but the hotel shuttle was reliable.

I have so many wonderful things I could say about Grifo hotel. The staff were extremely kind, welcoming and helpful. They really took the time to make sure you were enjoying your time and getting the most out of your trip. The grounds were beautiful and very clean. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, we will definitely return one day! Thank you to everyone at Grifo Hotel for making our trip memorable!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel. From the moment we were collected from the Port until we transferred back to the Port to catch the boat to Naples. The rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. The food was delicious….and the coffee was great. Thanks Enzo for making a good coffee for an Australian who doesn’t take her coffee as the Italian people do 😌 We were welcomed with a drink and a staff member who helped us us organise our time on the Island with suggestions and information so we could make the most of Ischia. Most of all though….I would like to complement the staff . Each staff member was friendly, helpful, patient and eager to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely Hotel. We certainly intend to return here one day. Thank you

Stole our hearts Ischia was our first stop in a 21-day trip in Italy and, even though we stayed in some amazing places, Grifo Hotel still holds a special place in our hearts. We had a wonderful room on the second floor with balcony and beautiful views of the water. The room was a good size, the bathroom very nice with a great shower. Rooms vary so when making a reservation be sure to indicate what you'd like (terrace vs. balcony, first floor vs. second, water views vs. garden, etc.). The hotel has a free spa with steam room, pools, saunas, etc. in addition to an outdoor pool and outdoor thermal pool. They were all wonderful to use after a day of exploring Ischia. The hotel location near Ischia Porto was perfect because Porto is where all the bus lines depart so getting to any and all sites using public transportation was easy. The hotel is on a hill, away from the town bustle, so it provides a shuttle to/from Porto. You are required to reserve/call ten minutes before the scheduled time to make sure they can accommodate everyone, but it was never an issue. The bar service by the pool was terrific. Had the best drinks there of our entire trip. But the very best thing about the hotel is the staff. I'm so sorry to not remember the names of everyone, but each staff member was so helpful from the very first young lady who annotated a map of the island for us, to others who made reservations (and changed them when our plans changed!), to the gentleman who oversaw the restaurant and remembered what we liked at breakfast after the first day, to the spa staff that came out to check that the water in the outdoor thermal pool wasn't too hot for us, just anything you needed, they were there, kind and personable. An example: when Francesco ( I think that was his name!) dropped us off at the ferry port for our departure, we realized that my husband had left his phone charger in the room. Not the end of the world, but he was upset and said we would call the hotel and ask them to mail it to somewhere along our trip. Then we said good-by. Just as we were boarding the ferry plank, Francesco called out to us and handed us (across many people) the phone charger! He had driven back to the hotel, looked for it, and brought it to us. That's what the staff will do to help make your trip wonderful. Just an amazing place.

This is definitely the best place to stay in Ischia!!! From the scenery, to the staff it was always an amazing time. The food was amazing and listening to Francesco preform every Saturday was so much fun. Enzo the restaurant manager was very personable and genuinely an amazing person. Carmela and Alberto (the owners)are truly amazing as well, they are very down to earth and treat their guests like they are at home. The whole staff here really makes you feel so welcome. Federico at the bar is also amazing. Be sure to check out the spa as well, it’s very calming and Lucia is so wonderful. If you come to Ischia you should definitely stay here!!!

What an amazing hotel! From the moment we arrived, we had such a wonderful experience. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and the grounds were immaculately beautiful. The ocean view from our room was amazing. The breakfast was delicious with so many options, there was something for everyone. I only wish I had time to experience some of the spa services. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings.

Stayed here for 7 days with family. The hotel was great, super friendly and service minded staff! Very nice location, located on quiet and peaceful hillside with beautiful view of the island and ocean. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful hotel and staff This really is a wonderful hotel. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and the facilities and rooms are excellent. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful you will ever meet. They provide a very flexible shuttle service to the local towns and offer lots of good advice about local restaurants and sites to visit. The food in the restaurant is high quality, for both breakfast and evening meals. The hotel and its setting are every bit as beautiful as the pictures suggest. We look forward to visiting again. We loved staying at Grifo hotel for our honeymoon last month. It is a beautiful hotel with big, clean rooms, a high quality restaurant, beautiful pool and very helpful and friendly staff! The shuttle service is a lifesaver for getting to and from the local town without struggling through walking in the heat. Staff are also helpful in recommending activities and even booking them for you so that transport is arranged for you from the hotel. There are not too many staff members so you see the same people often and feel that you get to know the staff - they even remembered our usual coffee and lunch orders by the end of the trip! Antonio who runs the restaurant is very friendly and professional, and Mateo and the others are all very helpful and lovely. The hotel of choice for visiting Ischia. Issy and Tom

Excellent hotel on Ischia Booked a 7 night stay at the Griffo Hotel and I’m absolutely glad I did. The hotel is quite small but spotlessly clean and intimate. Every member of staff knows your name and are so obliging and helpful. My room (superior sea view) has views of the gulf of Naples with Mt Vesuvius in the background. The hotel is about a mile or so outside the port / town centre but the hotel has a regular and free shuttle which runs until 10.45pm The pool area and terrace is very quiet with plenty of seats / loungers for everyone. The food is also excellent and priced similarly to the restaurants in town. There is also a spa (tranquil pool, sauna, steam room and mineral pool) on site although I didn’t have time for any treatments so can’t comment on those."

The single best hospitality you will ever experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally helpful in arranging us transportation from the port and down to the town center, and really makes an effort to get to know you. During our stay, we were given private access to the hot tub for an hour following our spa services, making for an incredibly romantic stay. When we were not going to make it to our 8:55am flight on time, the staff arranged us a wake up call at 3:30am and travel to the port, on a ferry to Naples, and to the Naples airport. Will definitely be returning.

What a truly special place. We spent six nights at the Grifo earlier in the summer, and wouldn't hesitate to come back again and again. We've also recommended it to our friends and family! The hotel is the perfect size - not too big - and a fantastic team of staff remember you by name. Ischia is blessed with beautiful weather for the most part, but even when we experienced one stormy day during our stay, we felt we could relax in the hotel all day without needing to leave, alternating between the swimming pool and the luxurious on-site spa. Thank you for a wonderful holiday, and we can't wait to come back.

Fabulous hotel What a great vacation. The Grifo Hotel has a great homely feel to it. Peaceful, relaxed and most enjoyable. The staff are genuinely lovely and very helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere with a fabulous restaurant and great food both for breakfast and evening meals. Very comfortable with great outdoor swimming pool and indoor spa facilities. There is also a roof terrace but at the summer temperatures maybe too hot for some. The location is close to the Ischia port but far enough away so that you are not able to hear any traffic noise. The hotel is situated up a huge hill which is tough to walk up or down, but they have a solution for that in the form of a free shuttle service. There is a very good public bus service around the island which means there is no need to rent a car but there are plenty of opportunities to rent scooters or cars if you need. Reception can help with that too. In summary, we had the best holiday at the Grifo Hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it to everyone who appreciates the hard work and effort the team put into to making you welcome and comfortable. Perfect in every way.

Superb hotel with great facilities and friendly staff. We recently spent 9 nights at the Grifo as part of our family Italian holiday. From the moment we arrived we were impressed with everything. The hotel is modern, spotlessly clean and has superb facilities - an indoor spa (with thermal pool) and a fantastic outdoor pool with sun beds around it, as well as on a terrace nearby (there were always beds free) We had a super corner room on the first floor with a big side window and a balcony overlooking Naples Bay. As we had our teenage daughter sharing with us we appreciated the space - the room was huge! The beds are really comfy and the bathroom is modern and clean with a great shower. The staff at the hotel are all so friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts (with a good variety of food) and several lunches by the pool, and had an evening meal - all the food is delicious with generous portions served by a great team led by the ever smiling Antonio. Pino and the team on the desk are always happy to help with any trips or transport queries. The hotel shuttle bus is really useful and we booked it to go into town and back every night. We did use local buses to get around the island, and then the shuttle to get back up the hill to the hotel - you can call them to collect you from the bus stop (although we did walk it several times which wasn’t as bad as we expected! We also walked into Ischia Porto which takes 25 minutes from the hotel) The drivers are all so friendly and chatty. Ischia is a lovely island and the Grifo is in an ideal position for exploring. We really enjoyed our stay at the Grifo as it is so peaceful and everyone is so friendly. I really hope we will get to visit again.

We stayed four nights at the grifo hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean and the air conditioning works perfectly. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was good and also the food we had during dinner. They have a menu which changes every day and also includes options without sea food. The hotel has a shuttle which brings you to ischia porto. During our stay, we visited the negombo termal parc ( hotel guests get a 3€ coupon) and we went on a boat tour that the hotel staff informed us about. We can only recommend the boat tour (70€/person), it takes place the whole day with lunch. The boat stops 5 times for swimming and makes a whole tour of the island. The atmosphere was very pleasant. In conclusion, we can only recommend this hotel. It was not crowded, friendly staff, and it seemed more „private“ than other bigger hotels.

afull service charming hotel We stayed in a beautiful jacuzzi suite, with a huge balcony that overlooked the bay of naples. We had more than a 180 anglein which to contemplate the beauty of the surrounding forest and bay! The room was very comfortable, with all the necessary topnotch fixtures, the only thing missing to give a sense of completeness were coffee making facilities. We did have an ample refrigeratorin the form of a minibar, so we could store our own drinks. What really upgraded our experience was the service the hotel offers its' guests. We asked them by mail to book us a small airconditioned car, and it was brought to the hotel in the morning, and wecould drop it off at the hotel at the end or rental, with the hotel acting as intermediary with the rental agency. They booked us all the restaurants we asked for, taking care to ask for window seats. They organize for all their guests shuttles a couple oftimes daily that take guests from the hotel to the main city of ischia porta, and taking them back from ischia porta to the hotel at designated times. They pick you up and drop you off at the ferry terminals, as well. You can call them to pick you up fromthe bus stop nearest to the hotel, so that you won't have to walk uphill to the hotel, or downhill to the bus stop. All the staff were very service oriented, but I would specially want to mention Paula (hopefully, I spelled her name correctly), who gave usgood advice and took excellent care of us, without giving us a sense of imposing. She was the epitome of friendly service in the nicest way possible. The breakfast was sumptuous, just what the doctor didn't order, the pool was very nice, and it seemed thatpeople really enjoyed lounging around it. The also have very nice spa facilities, quite a surprise in such a small hotel, including a thermal pool, all for free at the price of your room. All in all, a top notch place to stay in Ischia!
