Let’s talk turkey: You need to earn this fantastic view. The hike takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. But seriously it is definitely worth it. You will be rewarded with a fantastic beach with turquoise and clear water - a bit saltier though. The sand is white and beautiful. When we were there, we could see some jellyfish. So you better watch out. The trail winds through sun-drenched fields, rocky caves and shady groves where you can say hello to goats and wild boars. Take plenty of water with you, wear trekking shoes or at least sneakers and apply enough sunscreen.

First of all, EXTREMELY CROWDED BEACH. I visited at the end of september and there were still a lot of people. Better to visit in low season. You have to do a hike of 4km to get to the beach. Pretty easy to go down and up. 6 euros entrance fee. You have to book online (only 200 people per day). We saw a lot of donkeys, cows and goats which I loved! Water was not crystal clear, so, not so good for snorkeling. In general, very good beach and hike (despite having so many people), colors are true and the location is very virgin.

Absolutely lives up the hype. End of June and it was easy to reserve tickets day prior, so there should have been plenty of walk-up reservations as well the day of. Hike down took me about 45 minutes solo at a decent pace. Ascent back took just over an hour. You should be about 10-15 minutes back to the parking lot once you start to level out and descend again. The way down had reasonable amount of the trail was shade at 0830 due to tree and cliff blocking sun. On way back up at 1530 the sun was still high enough to take away a lot of the shade on the trail. Hiking/rucking boots or at least stable trainers required since most of the trail is rock scramble or loose sharp rocks. I wore light running shoes since they dry quickly and the treads and foam soles got chewed up. Beach begins to properly fill up by around 1030. Many of the shaded spots under the cliff overhangs are taken first. Since it seems visitors were well below the 250 limit it didn't feel too crowded, but at capacity plus any of the boat visitors swimming to shore it could be quite crowded. I took 2.5Ls and between hiking quickly and swimming a lot there, it was not enough. 2L minimum, 3L if you can carry. The restaurant at the parking lot is decently priced.

The beach is definitely worth visiting and one of the most beautiful beaches and water that I have personally ever seen in my life (and I had the chance to travel a lot before..). What you have to know though is that the way to get there is the opposite of easy. It took us about 1h15 on the way going because after a slight uphill path it goes mostly downward. The way is very rocky and you definitely need good shoes at least sport shoes. Flip-flops or sandals: impossible. The way back was very exhausting because not only was it very hot (of course) but also uphill and rocky and it took us more than 2h. I can honestly say it was the most exhausting thing I have ever done even if doing lots of sport. So what you have to know: If you decide to go there take water - lots of water, good shoes, some sandwiches and cereal bars (you need them for energy for the way back) and anything to protect you from sun as there are lots of tourists and you mostly will not get a shady spot anymore (the beach is quite small and limited for 250 ppl). What we didn't know - YOU HAVE TO RESERVE 72H BEFORE OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT. Sometimes more than 1h depending when you arrive. Go there early if you can and back befiee midday or in the evening. Good luck :) the beach is definitely worth it.

We absolutely loved the hike! Especially the way there. We are not hikers yet we were able to do the way there in 50min and the way back in 1h10! Getting there is quite easy but the way back was really hard. You must book in advance as the places are limited, nevertheless the beach is extremely busy and it's almost impossible to find a nice spot in the sun on the beach. The beach is quite small but the sea is absolutely fantastic. We were scared that it might be too sunny but actually most of the beach was in the shade by 12pm. Highly reccomend bringing water and food (as there is no bar on or near the beach) and insect repellent as it is FULL of wasps. The water is absolutely fantastic and crystal clear but there are some biting fishes next to the shore

Landschaftlich schön. Aber ein must have für Sardinien. Definitiv nein.

Its a beautiful beach that is located in the town of Baunei, in the southern part of the Gulf of Orosei, in Ogliastra, Sardinia. The beach, one of the most evocative of Sardinia, was created by a landslide in 1962; it is famous for its high pinnacle of 143 meters above the cove. With limestone cliffs reaching a height of 500 meters; unique rock formations around it – the most notable one a beautiful arch at its southern end; tiny white pebbles that look like snow; a pinnacle that calls to be climbed and lush Mediterranean shrub and a forest of holm oaks, it’s little wonder that Cala Goloritzé was declared a National Monument of Italy in 1995.

Looks good in pictures, i give one star for the italian administration. Dont get me wrong, this area is nice, but the entire area is one big tourist trap. At goloritze you pay 6 euros...i don't know for what, they didnt do anything to arrange the route, and the fact that they say it's limited number of people.....in a can of sardines it's also a limited number. I will attach one photo so that you understand that the online photos are far from reality. And this is taken in september...i don't want to know how it is in full season. This is the first and last time i am coming to Sardinia, i'll stick to the italian Alps and Cinque terre, where they are way more organized.

Beautiful place in Sardegna! It's one of the beautiful beach in Sardegna. Useful Informations: You will reach the place from Su Porteddu. It's a hiking path from Su Porteddu to Cala Goloritze. You must take hiking/sport shoes and sport clothes. Because it has a lot of different type of stones and the path could be neat. Please take with you a beach umbrella. The beach isn't fully with sand. Most of them are with stone - up and downs. You must do a reservation on the app Heart of Sardinia to get access to the beach, otherwise you can't. Please go there in the morning , because you can accesss the beach till 15:00.. when you arrive at 16:00 they won't let you go to the beach, because they close at 17:00! The hiking back to the parking is very hard in the sun. Is really hard.. I'm hiker and it is to hot to hike up. Please take each person 2 liter water with you! Negative Points: You have to pay 6.00€ to walk to the beach Cala Goloritze. The path isn't clean or prepared to walk.. for 6.00 for each person they could prepare the path. You won't have a reservated place at the beach you have to find a place and it hasn't a lot! At the Beach they don't have water or a small Kiosk to buy water or something. To the restaurant Su Porteddu there is always a donkey. I don't know why a donkey is there.. it is whole day there.. in this hot wheater.. i'm feeling bad. Good points: Very nice beach Must see Restaurant at Su Porteddu

Amazing view of the beach from the sea! Best to rent a private boat from Cala Gonone and do a customized cruise along the coast line. Unforgetable experience.

incredible place, a must do if you are in Sardinia. From the parking space it took us 1hour to get there. Take lots of water with you, you are gonna need it. Also don't forget to bring sun screen or an umbrella, because shadow is rare. for the walk bacl we had 1h 20min without any break. Definitely a day to remeber after the vacation.

As many reviews say be ready for the walk/hike. It's 3.6kms each way with approximately 500m of climbing, it's more difficult on the way back. Cost is €6 and parking is free. Shoes are a must, the path is easy to follow but the terrain is harsh. Take plenty of water especially if you plan on staying at the beach for a while, there is literally no where to buy anything once at the beach. The beach itself is very busy, I went around 3pm (mostly for the hike) and the beach was full. Also word of warning the beach isn't always as calm as some photos might show, with a slight wind out at sea the waves can be very rough and wouldn't recommend for not confident swimmers. Highly recommended it overall, it's a real gem of Sardinia and one that many will not be able to say they have been to!

Amazing beach, impressive turquoise water, fantastic surronding The best thing is that boats can not reach the beach. It is a paradise with a tribute to pay - 1 hour + hiking to go there and 1.5 hours to go back .. but it is absolutely worth the effort

The most amazing rock formation gives this Cala a special vibe. Though you can’t be reach the beach by big boats you can park in front of it and have a swim right in the middle of the ocean which is what we did while getting to enjoy the fish and the pure cristal water. All shades of blue.

It’s the most amazing beach I have ever been. The path is quite hard and you spend around 1 hour to get there. But it deserves. The ticket is 6 euros and I would recommend to book the entrance, wear sneakers and a big bottle of water. You will not regret! Enjoy it 😊

Jeden Tag anders.

This was the most wonderful beach and full of marine life. Be prepared for around 1hr to 1.5hrs hike from the parking area to the place. Take with you water in the hot summer days and a small backpack. The beach itself is very small and limited people are allowed to come, however it can still be crowded, but is worth it.

Very nice beach , but sadly mass tourism - if you got a chance , come as early as you can and leave latest 12.00 .

The place is spectacular, a must in Sardinia! The sea is crystal clear and you can see lots of fishes, even near the shore. We arrived at 9am and since we didn’t have a reservation we paid the 6€ entry fee there, but they told us that the place has a limit of capacity so it is best to book your place in advance. There is a little restaurant that has some food and cold beverages. The trekking is 4km long, downhill on the way to the beach and uphill on the way back. It is quite hard, mostly on the way up, but not impossible. Our main inconvenience was that the temperature was +40 degrees celsius and it was really hard to breathe. I’d recommend to check the weather and choose a less hot day. All that said I really recommend this beach and will definitely go again!

Gulf of Orosei is perfect for rent-a-boat, our no. 1 so far. Interesting all the way- incredible colours, beaches, cliffs, caves… At Cala Luna you can make a lunch break as it is easily possible to off board. Follow the recommendations to catch the places at the best possible sunlight. Like Pools of Venera at 1 pm in July.

Beautiful beach, but small, way to crowded. Ticket online 6 euros per person. One hour to get there, around hour and a half on the way back. The road to drive a car to the starting point....not very enjoyable 😁

What an amazing experience! If you like walking on easy paths with a breath taking view, this is the place for you. It is a nice dirty road path where you descend about 500m height through 3.6km during which you can admire very typical vegetations, caves and the sea to finally arrive to un uncontaminated White sand sea gulf in between rocks and crystal clear water.

Quite a challenging hike to get there. Wear a proper shoes because the rocks are slippery and long way all are rocks hike. Worth it after 1 hour hike. Memorable by hiking to there

Amazing beach! Clean and you can see the bottom very clearly. Better to reach this beach by the boat. We took the boat in Arbatax Port and reached Cala Goloritze in about an hour.

  • 5/5 stefan a. 1 year ago on Google
Large parking area is directly in front of the parc leading to Cala Goloritze. Entry is 6€/person because they want to limit number of visitors on the small beach. Water is as blue as in the caribean sea. Strongly recommend to start early in the morning because at 3 p.m. sun (November) will be behind the mountains. Very technical down and up-hill. No flip-flops 🤣🤣🤣

Super nice hike to an amazing beach with good view from above and crystal clear water. Even children could hike this, so you have no excuses!

Oh my word, where do u begin. Only 250 people per day are allowed so make sure u book before u go through the “heart of sardinia” app. We went with the car very early in the morning. and left it at the parking up there. stocked on water as there’s literally nothing after the restaurant at the parking on the trek down there. It’s around 3.5 km of very uncomfortable steps and walkways, well marked so wouldn’t get lost. Still, very difficult, it’s around 600m change in elevation. Took us 1h on the way down and 1:30 back up. Most important thing is to make sure u have water for the way back up, ur body will thank u for it. also beware of the goats. the beach itself is indescribable, I will leave it at that.
