It was a very peaceful place even it was a cloudy day. In my opinion this place wasn't very equipped there weren't enough bars or restaurants or for families and their children outdoor games. It's a nice place to take a walk and breathe different air but it isn't a comfortable place to spend a day, perhaps because it's not a good season yet.

The lake is Great, even on a cloudy day there where things to see and do. The transport is not so great. If you come without a car, there is only one bus that goes in and and out of the village. But there's always the rent a bike option. All in all, good trip....

Beautiful place to walk around. You should come but early for brunch. There was couple restaurant who do breakfast and it looks awry! We didn’t know about it so we arrive before lunch which they finished. Dummm Another things I can say is its artist town. I saw a lot of art around here.

Warum macht man nichts für den wunderschönen See. Es wiedert einen an in dem See zu baden [Juli, August]. Die Ufer sind voll Müll! Die Ortschaften um den See unternehmen nichts. Algen, Algen und Müll.

The lake is very big and in a beautiful part of Italy. From my perspective, there are no real nice beaches or spots to dive in, the water quality looked a little poor in June. We have seen some dead fishes at the shore and lots of algies. I did not feel triggered to get in. However, it is surrounded by some small yet beautiful villages with the charm of Umbria; plus there is a ferry that brings you to the two little islands in the lake with a fantastic view and sight.

Parco Regionale del Lago Trasimeno is a beautiful natural park located in the Umbria region of Italy. The park surrounds the stunning Lake Trasimeno, which is the fourth-largest lake in Italy and a popular tourist destination. The park is filled with scenic trails, natural landscapes, and wildlife, making it a great destination for nature lovers. The park offers a variety of activities such as hiking, biking, bird watching, and water sports. There are also several towns and villages around the park that offer cultural and historical attractions, as well as delicious local cuisine. Overall, Parco Regionale del Lago Trasimeno is a wonderful destination for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and tranquility of the Umbria region. It is a perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the stunning scenery of Italy.

Lake Trasimeno is a picturesque and serene destination nestled in the heart of Italy. Located in the region of Umbria, this enchanting lake offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Having recently visited Lake Trasimeno, I can confidently say that it is a place worth exploring for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. One of the first things that struck me about Lake Trasimeno was its breathtaking beauty. Surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and charming villages, the lake provides a stunning backdrop for relaxation and exploration. The tranquil waters of the lake are ideal for boating, swimming, or simply enjoying a leisurely lakeside stroll. The scenic walking trails along the shoreline offer mesmerizing views, and I found myself captivated by the ever-changing colors of the water as the sun set over the horizon. For history lovers, Lake Trasimeno holds a significant place. It was the site of the historic Battle of Lake Trasimeno in 217 BC during the Second Punic War, and remnants of this ancient past can still be seen today. The small island of Isola Maggiore, located in the middle of the lake, is home to a charming fishing village and the Church of Saint Francis, which dates back to the 13th century. Exploring the island's narrow streets and old buildings felt like stepping back in time, and the peaceful atmosphere added to its allure. The towns surrounding Lake Trasimeno are equally captivating. Castiglione del Lago, with its medieval castle and charming old town, offers a delightful blend of history and modern amenities. The town's waterfront promenade is a great place to enjoy a meal while taking in panoramic views of the lake. Passignano sul Trasimeno is another town worth visiting, with its colorful houses, lively atmosphere, and a scenic fortress that overlooks the lake. While Lake Trasimeno has much to offer, there are a few factors to consider. The lake's beaches are mostly pebbled, so if you prefer sandy beaches, it may not be the best choice. Additionally, the lake's water quality can vary, so it's advisable to check local conditions and recommendations before swimming. Overall, Lake Trasimeno is a hidden gem that offers a tranquil retreat and a chance to immerse yourself in nature and history. Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway or a cultural adventure, this Italian lake is sure to leave a lasting impression. I highly recommend visiting Lake Trasimeno and exploring its surrounding towns for an authentic Italian experience.

Very nice place, quiet but with some convenient infrastructure (walking paths, restaurants, night life, kids friendly attractions). I love swimming but from locals I heard it's not a good idea and I didn't see anyone swimming (end July/beginning of August).

Beautiful place with a nice little collection of shops at the top of the hill within the walls. Be careful with the ferry if going to the island though they go to different parts of the mainland and if you get the wrong one the only way is to retrace your steps as there are no other connecting routes.

Riesiger See, fast immer etwas Wind.
