👍👍 Great to see a place that has vegetarian and vegan options as well as natural wines. Their ethic of only having locally sourced foods is great too. The food was tasty, with both "typical" dishes (pasta Al ragu, which I didn't try) and more adventurous Italian dishes. Had a pleasant experience, price... Great to see a place that has vegetarian and vegan options as well as natural wines. Their ethic of only having locally sourced foods is great too. The food was tasty, with both "typical" dishes (pasta Al ragu, which I didn't try) and more adventurous Italian dishes. Had a pleasant experience, price was comparable to famous trattoria (there's the 2,50 sitting fee worth every penny since you get free flowing water and bread), staff was super nice too. Would go back if I was in search of a healthy, hearty alternative to your standard Italian restaurants you find everywhere in Bologna!

Food is very good and there are vegan options! I had the vegan Pizza with yellow tomato cream which was quite special. The predish (Antipasti) was good too but for the potion with 11 € way to expensive. It was like 1 Slice of tomato and 1 slices of aubergine with little bit sauce and vegan cheese. I would have expected the double potion or half the price. For the Pizza definetly reccomended.

Il Rovescio, arguably a jinxing name for a restaurant, is a tiny versatile chalet-like wonderfully cosy and quality restaurant on the perimeter of Bologna historic centre. Its menu is pretty diversified and ranges from neatly displayed delicatessens to gourmet pizzas available with a variety of dough (including a charcoal one!). The common denominator is local seasonal ingredients, slow food as it’s known. The service is outstandingly swift, a rarity in Italy, a really precious one, which makes the overall experience even better. I really have found not a single lowlight during my visits at the place, probably only portions size might upset the hungriest… Pizzas, meat, wine, pasta, cakes? Try the most you can, all will be above expectations.

Loved the fact that there were four vegan options in the pizza menu. Would definitely go again to try the rest of the pizzas. Pizza dough was terrific.

The fact Il Rovescio is NOT a vegan restaurant makes its vegan dishes even more incredible. They’re not an after-thought or add-on, but absolutely delicious, carefully crafted and beautifully presented. We loved Il Rovescio for its attention to detail, its use of local produce and wines and its happy, relaxed vibe. Our waitress was lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Wow, this was super amazing food. Some of the best pizza I've ever had, and the activated charcoal in the dough was a cool healthy twist! Great prices, helpful friendly service, superb wine list, local ingredients, lots of healthy (but super delicious) vegetables on the menu-- really a five star experience for everyone at the table (and we all looove to eat). Definitely give it a shot -- you won't be disappointed. So happy this was my first dinner of 2024 - thanks Team Rovescio! 😊

We had a wonderful experience at "Il Rovescio". What we enjoyed in particular were the vegan and vegetarian choices, even in the "secondi", which you don't get that often in Italy. We'll definitely come back!

The staff at Il Rovescio are just superb. They were super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, especially about the vegan offerings. I ordered the vegan homemade wheat pasta with local foraged mushrooms. It was earthy and delicious. For desert, the vegan carrot cake was warm with a delightful cold cream on the top. The location is in a fun neighborhood too!

I had dinner here on my last night in bologna. Definitely make a reservation since there’s limited seating but dishes were tasty. I forgot to take photos but I do recommend this restaurant

Nice place but very small tables Food is of good quality with attention to details and sourced locally (for the most). There is also a separate section "pizzeria". The pizza has a very good light, dough with interesting, original combinations of garments. Wine selection is also OK. There is no network coverage inside (which might be bonus).

Locally sourced ingredients. Vegetarian and vegan options. Not cheap but still supportive of this little place.

What a great experience! We showed up without a reservation, yet they where able to seat us immediately even though the place was pretty full. The seasonal ingredients made for delicious vegan options, loved the wide array of wines and spirits and the staff was particularly fun and welcoming! We would go back and eat there again for a second night in a row if it wasn’t closed on Mondays!

Nice restaurant with mostly vegetarian / vegan options, but also some options with meat. The ingredients tend to be local with the origin on the back of the menu. The tartare was great and the Ragu superb. Great staff, great wine and great atmosphere.

Great reastaurant with a diverse and interesting menu, plenty of veggie options but also meat dishes all of the highest quality. For dinner they also have pizza but I haven’t tried it. It’s a great place to come if you are a group of people with different needs but you all want to est good food.

I was looking for a place that served organic/natural food and this place did not disappoint. The food and drink were amazing and filling. The prices are very reasonable too - and the owner and staff are incredibly kind. I may have to go once more before I leave.

The mushroom dish and the coffee cake were exquisite! Having checked out the dishes at the other tables, the off-the-beaten-track veggie dishes seemed like the way to go. Highly recommend to anyone looking for new approaches and tastes.

This was one of the best restaurants we ate in whilst in Bologna. The food are grown locally and as organic as possible. The vegetarian ravioli and the homemade coal bread was delicious. I will definitely come back here again, staff were wonderful.

Delicious food and great service, I wouldn’t call it an organic restaurant but rather farm to table concept where all ingredients are of high quality and connected in a great manner. Definitely recommended!

Quality over quantity, healthy, seasonal, and vegan options always available. Great wine choice and also amazing pizza (vegan choices available and far from being simple). The waitress was just amazing and also the host was kind and available. I would recommend this place to everybody that would love to spend a lovely time, in a tiny lovely place, with good food, without worrying too much about prices (even though they're perfectly in line with the quality offer). One of my favourite places in Bologna.

Went here for dinner, and the service was excellent! Stephan, our waiter was very kind, pleasant and understanding. The food was absolutely authentic, and they only use fresh ingredients from their local farmers, so the menu changes seasonally. The ingredients speak for themselves, are so fresh, and the house wine was delicious. The pizzas had a different texture, that made them cripsy and soft at the same time! Buona! And the cheeses used were so fresh and soft! Definitely recommend this place, it is also vegetarian friendly ❤️

Low profile but high taste! Pizza Fresca is delicious. Nice option for the vegans. Fantastic service!!

Il Rovescio was a highlight of our visit to Bologna! I went with my mother and we had such a lovely experience. The service is excellent, warm, and friendly. We didn’t have reservations and were seated in a cosy annexe. The atmosphere was so nice: people at different tables talking to each other, a very sweet and friendly dog sitting next to us. Finding vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants in the meat-focused foodie city of Bologna is challenging so we really appreciated the wide selection of seasonal veggie options. The dishes we tried were fresh and flavourful. We had such a nice experience here! ❤️

Top quality restaurant and food. I started the meal with the fresh seasonal veggies which were super fresh and excellent with a little olive oil. I ordered the inferno pizza which blew me away. Best pizza I've had in Italy so far (between la spezia, Florence and Pisa. I was recommended and drank the Sangiovese local house red wine - incredible for the price of like.. 4€. I ended with an espresso although I wanted a dessert and all sounded great - I had a date with gelato elsewhere. Highly recommend and would come back in a heartbeat. ALSO - and very important: the staff is amazing, attentive and even provided me with an English menu
