Must visit if you are in Itanagar. Entrance Fees for Adults ₹10/- and for Child ₹5/- . This place is developed well as a garden and it is big enough to roam around so doesn't get crowded in spite of many visitors. One cas spot many youngsters in this garden. However it's not much attractive historical place as it simply has thick small height walls built 700 years back. One can see such walls outside Ita Fort and near 'Akashwani Kendra' without visiting Ita Fort. It's a good photography spot as it's located on a hill near helipad and Rajbhavan. One can see entire Itanagar from this place.

It is the ruins of the southern gate of the Ita Fort. The place is beautiful and maintained properly. From the watch tower you can get a very good glance at the villages, towns and the surrounding mountains. The place is at the top of the mountain. You can stay around 20 minutes here mesmerising the beauty of the mountains amidst the clouds

*Very poor maintenance. (And currently it's under renovation, finally after almost a decade !) . Nevertheless being a tourist site , it's just worthy to be a park .Only few scenic view which is nothing special in Arunachal & moreover the actual attraction i. e the residual of 'ITA FORT' @ southern gate itself is entangled under the arms of wild creepers accompanied by mosses and lichens. In short our 'Ministry of tourism' sucks. And yep! Not to mention that u won't be given any prior info. whether it's open or not due to any xyz reason, atleast untill now it had never been ...

This is an excellent and refreshing place located on the peaks of the city of Itanagar. The fort is simple but marvelous and the place is green inside-out.Tourists often come to the place, grab a bench, pop a beer and gaze at the wonderful mountains and scenery surrounding the place. The trip is mind-blowing...

A good place to see in Itanagar. Not much is known about the history of this place but as per the archeological department, the place is somewhere made in the 14-15 century. Visitors spoiled this place with dumping beer bottles, chips packets etc etc. Good view of the valley can be seen from here.

If you are looking for a FOrt or Fortress. Uhh huu wrong place, the concept of fort here is a bit different. You would see bricks and greenery. But the best thing is the view of the city from this place. Beautiful view .

Currently under renovation, this fort was constructed during the 14th-15th century & is made by Bricks. We managed to enter via the South Gate & got to witness some of the ruins. The city of Itanagar is aptly name after this Fort. The Fort is located on top of the hill over looking Itanagar town.

One of tourist destination in Itanagar - Capitol of Arunachal Pradesh , just 2-3 km from city , only concern is map doesn’t work exactly so when u reach towards location - take left from temple near to site , it opens after 8 am ! One of the oldest historical site of Itanagar , this “ fort of bricks named on city Itanagar “ , it was built on 14-15th century ! You will get mesmerising view from this place ! Not much historical information available at site ! Must visit this heritage site if you are in this city !

Not much left of the fort except for the Southern gate and the upper portion of the wall joining the Southern gate to Eastern and western gate. The Authorities need to be serious about preserving this site, as people can be often seen climbing on the top of the only gate left to see, this may damage or deface the monument.

The construction work was going on, and still i wouldnt recommend this place, its just a bit (around 10 meters wide) of the fort and all else is just a park. The fact that is aroud 1.5 km uphill from the road makes it worse. The tourism officials should take care of these and there were very less boards leading to it. Noweherr it feels like a tourist attraction

It was raining on that day but the view from the top was awesome. Although the road condition was not that good but still one can reach. There is no provision of taking food over there but you have to pay entry fee.

It is at the top of hill, it may not appear attractive, but it dates back when there were no any mode of transport carried and built manually. The Kingdom were small with smaller revenue to spent for its defence so, value this monument in different perspective. Rest you can enjoy this place as Viewpoint, breathtaking country side.

It is presently in poorly maintained state. However, near Rajbhawan the East gate is in much better state. That area should be given prominence so that people can visit this also rather than visiting South gate of the Ita fort.

For people who know the value of historical remaining Wii surely be happy to see the very little part remains of Ita Fort completely made of bricks.Amsumed construction during 14_15 century AD,to be safe from enemies. The name ITANAGAR ,the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, has also been derived from Ita Fort.

A place of historical heritage which defines the capital city through its ahom architecture and gives the name to our capital city 'Itanagar' where 'ita' means 'brick' & 'nagar' means 'city'.. visit on all working days i.e. mon-saturday and enjoy its fascinating view of itanagar! Although entry fees is charged inorder to protect its historical values.. Rs 5/- for kids and rs-10/- for students and rs- 20/- or 15/- for servicemen. And visitor do use dustbin and no art on the fort or the sitting area provided.. couples be careful m always there to make a video..

I was assuming it to be the usual large fort but the place or fort is very very small like the area of the size of the four walls of a big room that's it. It was just okay. Now it has become only a kind of small park where people go just for time pass but not much of that historical meaning

Ita Fort is one of the most important historical sites of Arunachal Pradesh. A very interesting place for history enthusiast and a beautiful place for recreation for the common people. It's the nearest place one can visit when in Itanagar. Canteen is available. There's also a watch tower where you can enjoy the scenic beauty of Itanagar.
