They really good with fish and i love it. Allways fresh and allways delicious. Good price too. I recommend this restaurant for sea food lovers.

We have had to great dinners at the Gamus Balik Restaurant. The owner gave us a wonderful welcome on each evening. You can select the fish that you want which is cooked to perfection. Wonderful sunset views over Izmir Bay. The restaurant is very popular with local customers, which is also a great sign. We plan to spent our last evening in Izmir here as well.

Food was delicious and the service was great. But: Prices are quite high, plus service was added on the bill automatically. 100TL of service on a bill of 650TL seems a bit excessive to me. The other negative thing is that almost half of the menu was finished when we arrive and it was Saturday night. It could be managed better…

Me and my friend ordered crabs, shrimps, sea bass and soup. I have to tell you guys. The food is absolutely amazing. The chef Mr. Battal Arslan came up to us and specially made a dish for is with crabs and it was super delicious. Highly recommend this place not only for the supreme quality and taste, but also for the great service! Will definitely come back here again

Amazing and special place. We spent a couple nights in Izmir and we enjoyed our dinner there. The staff were very nice. Delicious and fresh grilled fish was so tasty. If you are visiting Izmir you should try this restaurant. Make sure you reserve if you want to sit outside and enjoy the view.

The food is fine. The service is awful. Waiters literally ignore you. They offered us starters and then it took almost half an hour for us to make them bring us a menu. Not a single word in English, 250tl service included.

I loved the pasta and my friends loved the fish and the shrimp, the service was excellent with the chef checking in on us. We didn’t even have to look at the menu because he got us exactly what we wanted. It was very filling and we loved the atmosphere, very fun and nice. The Executive Chef Battle Arslan was so nice, absolutely loved it.

We had dinner here last night and it was great! We were very well received by Murat who is a very professional waiter with a very kind heart. He took good care of us the entire dinner. We followed his recommendation and had two mezzes and a grilled fish. Everything was very good, including the salad, perfectly seasoned. The Chef even came to the table to say hello.

To end our first full day in İzmir we came based on my boyfriends recommendation (his #1 pick for his summer home city). We were greeted at the door and asked for a table with a view however didn’t have a reservation and the online form (filled out 15min) prior didn’t make it in time 🥲. However Chef Battal Bay quickly came to the entrance, saw we were visiting and found us a table to accommodate the six of us with no issue and that was just the start of our amazing service. As soon as we sat at the table #1- go pick out your fish/seafood, #2 tell Chef how you would like it prepared (we never even gave him a chance to show us his menu, which I now regret. And great reason to return) #3- salad or meze w/LOTS of options #4- drink (Rakı) #5- sit back and enjoy the evening. Fresh pasta, amazing produce for all sides, wait staff checking up for everything, chef Battal making sure everything is 100% to our liking or else taking it back (we loved everything), and never the need to call anyone. All was anticipated. They truly made us feel as if we were guests in their home with all their personal attention. I cannot recommend visiting here enough and experiencing the food and the famed izmir friendliness and hospitality while enjoying some Beylerbeyi Rakı and an amazing sunset with friends and family. I will definitely be coming back to izmir just so I can return to enjoy Chef Battal’s menu 😍😍

Gumus Balik was recommended to us by a local, as THE place to go to for a seafood dinner -- so we did, and we are so glad. DELICIOUS! And superior service! We started with 4 mezzes from the display -- we got smoked fish, some sauteed greens, eggplant and potato, and smashed fava beans. Then the waiter suggested some fried calamari and we're so GLAD HE DID! We both agreed it was the best calamari we had ever eaten -- so fresh, so tender, perfectly cooked and piping hot! We had sea bass for dinner -- fileted and grilled over a wood fire -- so tender, flaky and perfect! We finished with a quince dessert, and a sesame-ice-cream dessert -- both exquisite! The service was warm and attentive, without being too intrusive. Overall, a fantastic meal!!!

This is one of the best restaurants in Izmir. The prices are reasonable, the service is excellent, the shef is very proud of his business. Highly recommend.

We went for dinner and it was full the terrasse but they proposed us to bring a table at the entrance which I found even better. They made us feel very special and we are going back again for sure. For me it is the best fish restaurant that I have eaten in Turkey.

Both the staff and the food were excellent. The staff, graciously speaking english, helped us select a full, satisfying meal to our tastes and even offered to take away any recommendations that we ended up disliking. The chef himself stopped by to check in with us. 100% recommend.

Had dinner here with my family. They recommended me some mezze and fish and wow. They were amazing. Loved the 2 cold dishes and Fish was grilled to perfection. Simple, but delicious. My son had meatball and enjoyed it. Price is fair too! Highly recommended. Happy tummy!

Great upmarket Fresh Fish restaurant with reasonable prices, we had grilled and Fried Squid with assorted cold Mezze and it was all excellent. Chef showed us the fresh fish selection which had a wide variety of the freshest fish, also serves alcohol which is not always the case in Izmir, Staff were super friendly even letting leave our bikes in the restaurant to keep them safe…great sea views from their covered outdoor area too!!

I came here with my boyfriend, and by far this is the best restaurant we have ever been to in turkey! It’s very clean, friendly, and the service is top notch. The food is also amazing we ordered some shrimp, meatballs, and dessert. We also got a wine bottle and it was probably the best wine I’ve had. Thank you for serving us we appreciate it, we will definitely be coming back here.

Amazing food! Landed in Izmir for work in the evening and was walking around with a co worker to find something to eat. The place seems full with locals so we sat down. The host was super nice, walked us to the refrigerator, helped us pick the salads we would like (we eventually told him to pick for us and he picked delicious options that were not too much and not too little, just right). We each chose a different fish, I asked for mine to be Fillet and they did a great job. The fish was INCREDIBLE. one of the freshest, most flavorful fish I have had in a while. The veggie salad was great too and we both commented on how we love it. Great meal, great price- service was super quick. For sure worth a visit.

Very nice experience, good food and welcoming local staff. The chef showed us a big tray with daily fresh fish to pick from. They serve also alcoholics like beer and Raki.

Food was really good! But they just try to rip off tourists given using their lack of understanding of your language as an excuse. We ordered food and they kept bringing stuff we didn’t order, leaving us having to say no all the time; they charged us more for the beers than the ones you order... all in all very good if you speak Turkish but must avoid otherwise

traditional Turkish fish restaurant. try seafood on eggplant, and borulce (bean sallad) drink raki if you wish. the price would be around 25 euro
