-Cheap price 2.5 euro(25TL) -Location is perfect - Next to the bazaar and the parking building. -Inside has ancients ruins when you see it it feels very deep and old in positive way. -Still under progress of restoration - I was also curious about its process by seeing people still try to make it alive. -Short enough to enjoy - max 30m. Enjoy your time!

This is an amazing set of ruins. The arches are well preserved and impressive. My favorite thing was discovering the small water canal that was still flowing like it did back in antiquity. Highly recommend this site.

What a magical experience! I really loved seeing the history so close. My lovely Italian partner who studied this type of history at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom said also that it was rather spectacular. It’s a fair price to see these things. I would go again! Wow.

Agora Open Air Museum, an ancient structure, which dates back to the Roman Empire period, is the biggest ancient market in Izmir. It is good to pass by and see it if you have plenty of free time in Izmir, but its not that important. Yet some people likes to know these historical details. Place is not crowded at all when we visited, we were the only ones and 1 more group.

What an amazing experience! The ruins take me back in time. This is an incredible site to visit for anyone with an interest in the ancient city. The restoration work is also very good.

130tl entrance. Half was closed off. It’s a very basic level archaeological site. The stone arches are interesting. There are stone tile mosaics that are simple and dusty. Hard to see anything like colours

It’s a very nice place to visit when in Izmir. There are some remains of the ancient Agora with some building. Place is not very busy so you can enjoy a nice walk without rush. I liked the arches of cellars what are still there and I find it berry picturesque. The place is very central and is located in walking distance from the old bazaar of Izmir what is very convenient. If I’ll come to Izmir again I’ll visit Agora again.

First of all, the ticket for Agora Ören Yeri is 100 Lira per ticket, compared to 40 Lira at Miletus (another ruin which is much more exciting). Secondly, there is not much to see here except some arches and columns. The nearby Ephesus and the aforementioned Miletus are much more impressive, eg with exciting amphitheatres. Thirdly, the facilities are poorly maintained. You'd think they would fix and clean the toilet if they charge 250% the price of Miletus. See photo of men's toilet. Finally, Izmir is a crazy city to drive into due to its size. The drivers tend to be aggressive and there were frequent buses and taxis parked on the roads blocking lanes so it was a stressful experience. Finding parking isn't particularly easy either and it costs money too. In conclusion, skip this ruin. It's not worthwhile to visit. You have much better ruins which are much easier to access and more affordable.

If you have a few days in İzmir Turkey 🇹🇷 then it is worth to see the contribution of an ancient civilization and ask yourself how did they do this? Inspiring.

Little archeological remains of Izmir's agora. Very pretty, nice to visit located in the centre of the city nearby the biggest bazaar in Turkey! The price is only 14 lira to enter (around €2), worth a quick stop!

Make sure you experience the Agora with a guide. It's an open-air museum, with most of the archeological sites closed off for restoration works. It's cool to see that there are 2 levels to the Agora, and the archs of the basement have withstood thousands of years. Izmir feels like a young city but visiting this site reveals its historic roots. I'd say it's a good to visit if you have time.

Loved this! It’s not a large area (some parts are closed to the public) but it is very cool to walk through the ruins and explore the nooks and crannies. There are informational boards and a collection of various items. You won’t spend a long time here but it is definitely worth a visit.

Great way to experience an ancient Roman agora. Plenty of informative blurbs posted throughout. You’re free to walk the grounds at your leisure. All the sweet cats sunning themselves added another layer of charm to the experience.

Nice place, no need to pay for a ticket to view it from the inside unless you have time to kill. More than half of it is closed to visitors.

Entrance was about 18tl. For that price it was excellent value. Some of the description boards in the English language had somehow faded more than the Turkish language so I came away not fully understanding its place in the history of Izmir. The vaulted area of the ruins illustrates the mastery of the ancient builders and their techniques.

It is right in the heart of Izmir a marvelous place worth visiting. It doesn't have much visitors so you can enjoy it.

This is not a very big place and you can visit this within 1-1.5hrs. It's interesting to learn about the history of this place and it's a nice place to take photos.

Being so important for the history of ancient Smyrna, the ancient findings of museum could be represented better. If you visit with wheelchair or baby carriage, it's problem. You need to carry it to downstairs where you can see arches of ancient agora.

The Agora in the ancient city of Smyrna is a must see. Remember, when this was build we lacked proper and more modern stone cutting devices so these now-ruins were built by the stone masons of their time who evidently knew precisely what would last. A great way to spend an hour or so seeing something incredible.

Go on a sunny day. Visualize the mazy streets of Kemaralti (opposite) as part of the Agora ecosystem and imagine the splendour back in the antiquities.

Old ruins that date back thousands of years The visitor experience is a little underwhelming I didn’t leave feeling educated, engaged or entertained. No queues - cheap admission- centrally located

Beautiful site, gives present day humans the oppertunity to take a window view in the ancient past.

👍 One of the most important touristic sites of izmir. There's no need to buy a ticket as this monument is part of an urban space. The plaza is so lively even at midnight. Also, there are various restaurants, cafes and pubs. Also, the ancient bazar is close by.
